HTC Radar 4G on T-Mobile gets highest ratings - Windows Phone 7 General

Guys, honestly...what I have seen on most carrier sites concerning the windows phone has been good reviews.
If you go to T-Mobile website and sort HTC phone by "Best Ratings", the HTC Radar 4G comes up with the highest ratings.
See here >>> http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/default.aspx?tab=cell-phones
Now if they can just advertise the phone on their homepage

They did advertise it on the homepage as well as the HD7 when they had special offers for each

I know. But just imagine how much hype it would get if they had it up there for like two weeks.

Probably plants.

Future WP to have swapabble accessories

The news keeps coming future WPs to have swappable accessories
http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/23/futur...+TheBoyGeniusReport+(BGR+|+Boy+Genius+Report)
A patent filing by Microsoft titled “Mobile Communication Device Having Multiple, Interchangeable Second Devices” was published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday. The patent was originally filed on March 17th of last year and it describes a device that consists of a display and “multiple second devices” that can serve as accessories to the primary screen. We have seen this design executed before: Verizon Wireless launched the LG Versa in 2009 that could be equipped with a game pad accessory, but Microsoft has bigger plans. The patent describes the additional accessories as “more game controllers, batteries, physical keyboards or mobile phone handsets with a display.” Users can detach the devices too, and use wireless communications to interact with the primary display. It is a compelling concept although we aren’t so sure consumers will want to carry multiple accessories at once.

Seen it on twitter. Interesting but I'll keep my opinion to myself this one time...
The HTC surround comes to my mind having a keyboard instead of a boombox...

It would be pretty cool for 2-3 oems to produce this before the patent is filed. Nothing like stifling innovation with broad patents.
If you believe in IP patents, you'll already know someone else has thought of this and drawn it on a napkin...
Engadget also posted an article on this that their also an extra battery attachment. Now that sounds nice...

WTF?!?!? Apple won patent over HTC for a STUPID thing

The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has ruled in favor of Apple and declared a ban on the import of many HTC devices in the US, including flagship phones like the Sprint Evo 4G and Verizon Droid Incredible. The ruling would effectively end HTC’s business in the US.
After a lengthy back-and-forth between the two companies, the ITC has ruled that HTC infringes on two of Apple’s patents. Should the President of the United States decide to let the decision pass through, the ban will be put into effect on April 19, 2012. HTC plans to implement “alternate solutions” to combat the ruling.
The Verge reports:
After a lengthy review, the Commission found that HTC devices infringe two claims of patent #5,946,647, which is a system level patent issued in 1999 on analyzing and linking data structures— ultimately implicating the heart of Android itself and not HTC’s specific implementation. The decision now goes to the desk of the president, who has 60 days to issue a rarely-used veto; the ban itself will go into effect on April 19, 2012 to provide HTC with a transition period, and HTC will be allowed to import refurbished products for warranty replacement purposes until December 19, 2013.

Due to the nature of the exclusion order in the ruling, HTC devices that are already being sold in the US shouldn’t be affected. But until the cases of infringement are fixed by HTC, Apple could use its newfound clout to go after all of the HTC phones running the newer versions of Android (2.3, 3.0, and 4.0).
Apple could theoretically use this new ruling to go after any other Android handset maker, as the main patent in question is a system level part of the Android OS. HTC has said that it will simply remove the infringing patent from its phones. The company called it a “small UI experience” in an official statement:
We are gratified that the Commission affirmed the judge’s initial determination on the ‘721 and ‘983 patents, and reversed its decision on the ‘263 patent and partially on the ‘647 patent. We are very pleased with the determination and we respect it. However, the ‘647 patent is a small UI experience and HTC will completely remove it from all of our phones soon.

Ehm, this means that i won't be able TO TAP A PHONE NUMBER IN AN EMAIL AND CALL IT? Darn Apple... I use a MacBook Air, it made me only problems... sound card broke 5 days ago. Now i have no sound!
The HTC Desire is great. No problems at all. Rooted and now it's extremely awesome.

Insignificant win. Ban applies only on Android 1.6 - 2.1.
I hope so...
But why "declared a ban on the import of many HTC devices in the US, including flagship phones like the Sprint Evo 4G and Verizon Droid Incredible" ?
All these patent things flying around is getting out of hand. Is there anyone not suing someone else

Apple always made me feel sick with their bull****.
The crude reality is that I will copy phone number and paste it in the dialer. Also the reality is that none of the Apple products never did and never will go across my doorstep.

It´s kinda hard to tell. I mean they are suing each other in almost every country.
But if you look at what Apple wants to get Samsung to drop—the bezel and the rounded corners and the rectangular shape

Legally, it's easy for HTC to circumvent this rule. Change Sense so that it doesnt linkify..we on xda can then repatch the apk so that it does

And since HTC supports bootloader unlocking via HTCdev website it's a great thing.

When is the ATT Lumia 900 getting Tango!

There was an ATT article posted about a month ago stating that the tango update was coming in a few weeks. Anybody have any idea when/if it's ever going to come http://blogs.att.net/consumerblog/story/a7782923
Seems that AT&T is pretty good at interpreting the word "few". More than two, but as many as they choose.

This is by far the worst experience in doing with carriers. Does Apple use the same process? How come the carriers do not need to test the software updates when they come out from Apple?
I am interested to know the process.

Not sure, but I believe the Carriers have people planted at Apple (that the Carriers pay for) who do the testing. So when an update is announced, it has already been certified by the Carriers, indirectly. And remember, iOS may be a few devices now, but basically the same components, drivers, etc. Not that many surprises. Get HTC, Samsung and Nokia, all with multiple models, in the same room though and you have a mess.
Truthfully, I don't think there is much to test really. I have mentioned it sarcastically, but I think AT&Ts priority are their silly apps (that no one uses) and those restrictions that they want to be sure remains in place. Most of the changes Microsoft or Nokia makes to a device have no bearing on the radio or call quality.

Chinese Company Used Leaked iPhone 5 Specs to Build Knockoff, Hopes to Sue Apple for

Just the other day, we were hearing about Samsung getting in legal trouble over patent violations with Apple. A federal court decision ruled that Samsung owes Apple more than $1 billion in restitution. Samsung plans to appeal the decision, saying it never attempted to steal anything from Apple's iPhone.
Next week, on September 12, Apple is expected to introduce its highly anticipated iPhone 5, but the company may find itself on the receiving end of a patent-infringement battle. Chinese tech company Goophone is launching the Goophone I5, which looks suspiciously like an iPhone in the company's video on YouTube.
In recent months, tech blogs all over the world have released leaked photos and videos of what is rumored to be Apple's iPhone 5. The pictures show what appears to be a longer, thinner, but altogether similar version of previous models of the best-selling smartphone in the world. The Goophone I5 will run a version of the Android operating system that mimics the look of Apple's IOS. Goophone claims to have already patented its phone in China and vows to sue for patent infringement should Apple try to release the iPhone 5 in China as well.
One commenter on Goophone's YouTube account wrote, "the clone wants to sue the original...THIS IS THE FUTURE!" Of course, since the new iPhone 5 does not technically exist for the public yet, we'll just have to wait and see.

Greed at it's finest.

So apple changed its mind about the screen size eh? Now those fanboys will say the new screen is the perfect size and Steve will continue to cartwheel in his grave. Yay!
This is great...
The thoughts, work and ideas to put that plan together were nothing less than amazing. After all that time, to pubicly announce YOURS is the clone while threatening lawsuit......EPIC FAIL!
I hope Google is secretly funding the whole thing. Reap what you sow crapple.
Lmao! Go Goophone!
If this actually works I'd be the happiest man alive and two I'd be the most astonished man in the world

Your subject is a bit misleading. Chinese blue prints are around forever besides putting them into action. But your subject suggests that the Chinese company made the knock off? Apple is known for taking credit for work that other people do. I hope apple loses billions on this. Unless otherwise one of us live in China then I'm sure China is correct.
There any better source than op's claim?

Chinese company cloning an American phone and suing for patent infringement is nothing to laugh about. Its the reason American industry sucks. Chinese have been doing this across many other fields in technology and it has damaged US economy severely. If you laugh you know nothing about current espionage and the areas being targeted

Wrongggg, its not them, its people from the Middle East XD well kind of is but i mean like Arabic, Indian, all of those. Around here in that case. and guys race is a touchy matter. someone already got a bit racist. Chinese aren't bad. They're industry is much better than hours. 10 times larger. They have stuff out before we even have an idea for something. Then look at Japan, what 100 years ago they where still in Mid evil times? They make us look like wimps in 100 years.. Give it another 100 and they will be using holographic tvs and flat screens will look ghetto.
The article said that they would sue if the iPhone 5 was released in China. This only affects the Chinese market.

Phuck Apple!
In business, when you are top dog (apple)
Who proceeds to piss on every one else's lawn . You can count on retaliation. Though it will rarely bare the name of those retaliating. I'd say apple has made the great strategic mistake of slowly uniting its competitors on the screw apple front. The prevalence of the leaks on the iPhone was no doubt encouraged .
