Is there a newer radio?
Thanks in Advance

No, that is the newest radio. Any reason why?
I'm running 2.15.10.05.06
umm
2.15.10.07.07 is the last and newest radio for the dinc
I'm really new to the whole HTC Incredible since it's my girlfriends phone (and we don't even have CDMA phones where I live). But she gave me a green light to toy around with it so here I am.
Where do I get the latest radio and is it worth upgrading? Most topics about this are so old and contain old files or broken links.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227528

Ok thanks everyone
I will try the 2.15.10.0707

Yes for the Evo .0808 is the latest i believe, and it came out after the Incredibles .07.07
So newest has nothing to do with version numbers?
The last 4 digits represent when it was released. .07.07 radio was released July 7th. I believe the .10 portion represents gingerbread. The previous radios had .00 for froyo.

The newest radio for the incredible is 2.15.10.07.07
The eng bootloader is part of the unrevoked 3 / forever package. Eng bootloader is what unlocks the nand write protection so we can get s-off.
If your already s-off and rooted to use fastboot you need to install adb on your pc and also the fastboot.exe files.

You are going to want to try out different radios and not just rely on the newest one. Depending on your area, a new radio version may give you worse performance. Try a few of them out and see which one works best for you.

A method to get back s-on is usually released some time after. I think we can assume it'll come.
as mentioned by jcase, if you upgraded to GB using RUU OTA whatever, no alpharevX for u. XTC clip is ur only option.

ah yes. memory of a fruit fly these last few days !
You need at least temp-root to S-Off via Alpharev. If you ignored repeated warnings to not upgrade to GB, then you're out of luck for now. Sorry...spend your money on an XTC clip.

Now, just so I'm clear (not my first Android device so I'm not wholly new, but it is my first HTC), if I used alpharevx to get S-OFF, I will remain that way even if I went OTA to GB, I just would be unable to root? Is that correct?

You well get a key generated only after you type in your serial number from the device. Its unique and will be good for that one time. You will need to keep the internet browser window open during the process.
If you turn of the internet it will not work
I did mine using a bare bones xp home acer atom.
you need the internet on while doing this. Don't turn of the internet our the browser

So I was looking to see what hboot version my phone, evo 4g, had but on the boot loader it shows my hboot as 6.16.1002.
I'm currently using CM 7.1 with the lastest tiamat kernal if that helps.
If anyone can help me figure our what version i really have, as I have checked the update thread with all the hboot version and mine is nowhere near any of these I would greatly appreciate it.

if you had been reading up on rooting and really doing your research then you should have learned that you never accept an update right when it comes out because you lose the ability to root until a fix is found (and it often takes some time).

just tried htcdev method to unlock phone. phone now shows unlocked. success with booting twrp recovery, will try to flash rom utilizing same method as EVO 3D users with HBOOT 1.50, should be the same. will update.
Edit: Okay, just booted up SWAG ROM. Unlocked using HTCDEV method. Pushed the kernel via adb fastboot, boot.img from the unzipped ROM folder. Then flashed the zip which was on the root of the SD card, just as described in the EVO 3D development forums, using twrp1.1.1.

Here's what I came up with. Still may do a video. Hope it makes sense, it was very early/late when I wrote this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458491
Slightly off this topic, but along the same lines, so I didn't want to start another thread.
I rooted back in November, prior to the latest OTA update - and had a pretty good understanding of what I was doing - I think.. heh
I NEVER flashed a new ROM, Kernel, Radio, etc. Only backedup, rooted, removed some bloatware, and that's it.
I still have superuser su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip (I think?) in my root folder of my SD Card. Nothing else.
I backed up my Nandroid to my computer, as well as all the TitaniumPro backups of bloatware.
I saw Brad560's two posts - both Barebones and Stock ROM's.
In the Stock post, he listed Deodex'ed, Odexed, and Original UnRooted ROM. This confused me, as I'm still trying to wrap my head around the flashing part. Then I saw a reply about Radios?
I think at this point, I definitely want to remain rooted, but would like the "official" release from HTC/Sprint (in root form, stable, as close to the original as possible, for now).
Which ROM should I grab?
Will I need to flash a new kernel? I don't have any desire to overclock or anything.
And will I need to update the Radios separately?
Thanks, sincerely appreciate any help.
Just read in brads thread and all your answers will be there.

I had to go to htc update 3 x first was a security patch, phone rebooted, then back to htc update little larger file this time, phone rebooted, went back to htc update and finally got the 35mb 2.3.5 update, phone rebooted. I have new hboot now to as well. If my usb port dont work at all is there a way to root just from the sd card and is it even possible?

Thanks for replying.
I have read it. That's the first time I had heard of those things, which is why I asked here.
I think some folks forget what's it like to learn this stuff.. and while many here have been around for awhile and have absorbed over time, there are people like me (a military pilot btw lol) who has a tough time grasping some of the verbiage. I had the rooting thing down. Flashing a ROM seemed easy enough, though hadn't done it. Then someone throws up 3 versions in that post and 2 in the other. I get his barebones stuff - for the most part - he stripped stuff out.
Anyway, I suppose I will take the plunge and pick one of the ROMs, then suppose flash the latest radios.
Thanks!

For the time being, only way to "root"/unlock is via HTCDEV method which requires you be connected to your computer via USB sync cable.
Hi guys,
I'm helping a friend root his EVO 4G. I asked for some help doing this on another friends phone a while back as it was shortly after 2.3.3 was released OTA. Well that worked well, and so I run into this issue.
This EVO, the one I'm helping my friend with now, is also running 2.3.3. There are a number of new ROMS out there now and I was looking towards maybe flashing a Sense 3.0 ROM.
But I'm unsure as to which rooting method to use. It was a bit more complex the first time as 2.3.3 was new and you could not S-OFF then. But if I can I would like to S-OFF this EVO.
Can you guys post some links to the threads where I can find the help that I need? Does UnrEVOked support 2.3.3 now???
Any help would be much appreciated...

PAingulNx, that would be dependent on what Hboot the phone has, to what method of rooting you would use. As {ParanoiA} stated, you can wait for revolutionary.io to update for Hboot 2.18 (if that's what the phone is on) or try unlocking the bootloader via HTCDEV method. Which I try to explain here, not sure if I did a good job, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21680991&postcount=1.
HBOOT Version
Thanks guys...
It's been a minute since I've rooted an EVO. Can I check the HBOOT version in "Software Information" or do I need to boot in to Recovery?
In software information I have two numbers that resemble the HBOOT version.

Are either of these the HBOOT version?
Thanks again and sorry for the newb question...

I'm in the same boat, but I'm somewhat confused and just need clarification. I've rooted my moment and two evo's in the past, but this one is diiferent.
I achieved simple root with s-on with a coworkers EVO last night with hboot 2.18. All he wants is wifi tether and that's it. He's still on the stock rom.
I searched for hours and hours and can't find a definitive answer. Can I flash a new ROM from the sd card, or do I have to do it from a command prompt?
I have to be careful as I'm doing it at work and it's not my phone. I can't mess it up and send him on his way.
