Screen Difficult to Unlock During Charging - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Has anyone else noticed that when charging from an outlet, the phone lockscreen becomes less responsive and harder to unlock, or is this just a problem with my phone?

I have had this issue and returned my phone that was ha in that issue for a new one? I would say it's potentially fixable via flashing a custom tom.

That happened to me after a couple ROM switches. What I did was go into CWM and actually go to mounts and storage and format data, system, cache, emms (sd card).
Then I did the standard wipe user settings, cache... installed new rom, wiped dalvik cache and fixed permissions.
After that it was completely reset in every possible way and things worked fine.

If you're not using the original charger or a non-grounded connection you run the chance of malfunction while plugged in. There was a similar issue on the Sensation.......

Mine acts the same and is also slow when plugged into charge. I assumed it was a Samsung underclock feature to make it charge quicker.

Abduction 2.0 Not charging & Screen off problems

Regarding Abduction ICS 2.0X.
First off, I completely wiped everything before installing and I have re-installed at least 3 times.
The battery will not charge however. it will keep the battery at the current level.
When my screen times out or when I press the power button the screen goes black but with backlight. When I press the power button the soft keys light up but still is a blank black screen. I can unlock it by sliding and I hear it unlock but still blank/black with backlight.
One thing I thought was interesting was the Rom Control option to change the lock screen background, it freezes for a second then "unfortunately Rom Control has stopped working"
Any ideas?
PS can a MOD/ADMIN move this thread to a reply in the Abduction thread so it will be answered a lot easier.(Didnt have enough posts yet to reply)
Thanks
Have you tried a different USB charger/ cord combo? or is it specific just to the Rom? I'm following the Abduction line and this is the first I've heard of this bug... But i have experienced something similar when I use a faulty USB cord.
Also did you use the voltage script or change any voltage values?

Its not the charger.
What do you mean by using the voltage script?
under the add-ons hanger posted a voltage script that changes the values of some of the voltage settings for better battery life, but it produces instability with some of the Rom.... hence a separate add-on instead of baked in. I don't think you used it. Do you have a extended battery?

Yeah definitely didn't use it.
Nope have the original regular battery.
Yes, I wouldn't flash my voltage script as I had originally made it for cm7. I need to tweak it for Abduction.
Additionally, after your clean flash (which I assume is a data factory reset, format cache partition, wipe dalvik, and format the mounts- boot, system, cache, data, and data data) did you flash a different kernel then the one that comes with it?
If your clean wipe isn't exactly as i have described above, please do that and then flash a new download of the file. I have all the roms in the event you wish to try a different version.

The phone shows charging without being plugged in

After taking the plug out the phone shows still charges sometimes i get high voltage warning . I tried different battery still same . The red light blinks all the time . Battery drains quick and it over heats. I am on ff02 from sfhub but i think that has nothing to do with this. By the way i used different cables to charge the phone and still same problem. What could this be and how do i fix it

Did this randomly start happening or did it start after making a change to your phone? (flashing anything, installing an app, changing settings, etc..)
mine started doing this then when you pulled the battery it wouldnt boot without being plugged in the port was bad I got a new phone
Yeah, unless you installed a ROM that modifies your voltages with a battery saver script or you just installed something like SetCPU, it sounds like a hardware issue to me.. I'd take it back to sprint and have them replace it for you.
Go here to revert back to the official stock rom/kernel and see if you still have the issue.. if you do, then you're already set to take it back to sprint for a replacement =)

This started just out of the blue i did not do anything unusual . Thank you for the advice

Yu should go into cwm recovery and do a wipe battery status that's under wipe dalvik cache.. Then reflash the Rom

CM9 PrimoC Battery level not updating

Everything in the ROM works as advertised, except the battery level will not update until a reboot. Third party apps and the system read the same. Flashed the correct boot image, gapps, ROM etc. Charged up to full (Overnight, reboot, read 100%), then went into recovery and wiped battery stats, nothing happened. About to try draining to 0%, recharge to 100%, and wipe stats.
Kind of doubtful as to whether this will work, but if anyone has had similar experiences on other ROMs or this ROM in particular, any advice would be greatly appreciated
bump and update...
Tried above method, didn't work (Almost bricked phone when I rebooted on low battery LOL)
Flashed jmz's updated cm10 app correctly, everything worked as advertised, but battery still wouldn't update.
Starting to think something's wrong with my phone, going to see if Best Buy will take it back.

Really not sure. you are the only person to report that. flash my stock rom and see if it works.
Alright will do. Thanks for the reply. How do I do a COMPLETE wipe of everything that I can possibly wipe asides from sdcard data (photos, vids)? I think there's something that's being left behind from each ROM i flash, because I restored back to stock, and I couldn't activate phone, restored to your cm9, chrome/browser sporadically and randomly close.
Feels like each time I flash/restore to a different ROM, something new goes wrong.

Choose factory reset in recovery. That's all that is ever needed. Some people swear by using every option to individually wipe each item. Its unnecessary. Puts extra wear on the nand.

I do that, but the problem persists. About to try your stock ROM, will update.
Edit: Tried the ROM, similar issues (worse, if anything). Am now suspicious of phone defect. Is there an established way of unrooting/demodding in general the one V? Thanks for all the help so far.
My battery is goofy too running CM9 Primoc.
The first night it charges just fine.. .shows 100%.
The next night it will only charge to 92-93% or so.
The next night it will only charge to 85% or so.
It's like each night I recharge it I lose 7-8% off my final charge.
I'm pretty sure the charge is there it's just displaying the wrong percentage for some reason because if I simply reboot the phone and do nothing else the charge percentage jumps back up. If I reboot it after charging all night then it shows 100%.

Phone very slow, overheating

So, on my stupid part, I took the USB charger out about 10-15 times in a few minutes because I was trying to fix a problem with my internal storage not showing up on my computer. I fixed it, but now my phone is very sluggish and slow (apps take longer to load, menus are very sluggish, etc) and my phone heats up within a few minutes when it's taken off sleep (even just at the home screen). It seems to be the most hot around the camera if that helps at all.
Did I cause this? Is there any way to fix it? This is on stock 4.1.
Have you tried clearing system cache? And is the phone overheating while connected via usb?

update htc sync software to the latest.
also do a factory reset just in case if its caused by any rogue app.
Cache wipe doesn't seem to have fixed it, and no this isn't only while it's connected via USB, it happens without it as well.
do you have any pirate software installed? normally that's the main cause.

[Q] Phone Charging, Battery, and Popping Noise from Speakers

Okay, I have some problems with my S3. Running on task650's AOKP 4.2.2 Jellybean and Ktoonsez's KT747, for some information.
I found that I pretty much cannot charge my phone for any reason whatsoever. I plug in the USB, doesn't charge. Wiggle it around, plug it back in, charges for a bit, then disconnects once again. Even then, when it stays connected, the charging speed is just incredibly slow.
I have done a complete wipe, flashed ROM and everything again, and this issue persists. However, another issue arrive: I get a beeping, cracking sound from the speakers when I play games. It sounds almost like popping. I'm not sure if it's like this right after I flash it, but when I restore data, that is what happens.
I have considered having a shop take a look at my phone, but my phone is rooted and stuff, thus removing warranty. Is it true that you get warranty back if you revert to stock and unroot? If so, I would kindly ask for someone to direct me somewhere for help, as I just joined and am fairly clueless.
Has anyone ever experienced these issues? Is there a way to fix this, or should I bring it in to a shop?
i'm assuming you've tried another usb cable and/or are using the one that came with the phone? when did this issue begin? before or after rooting/flashing? it could also be the connector in the device.
when you restore data, are you restoring system data?
there's a link in my signature that details unrooting procedures near the bottom of post #2. check it out for the sake of checking it out.

These cords are cheap and that's how the act when they are dying. Is the poping audio a known bug with tasks 4.2.2.?

Yes, you assume correctly. It started after my phone died once... My phone has been rooted and on AOKP for months with no problem. Sure, I always had battery drain issues, but tolerable. Now, I've gotten 3% charge in 2 hours.
Odin back to stock and factory reset with beer's guide. See if it persists. You can easily return to stock for warranty

Also, Beer, I restore system data, but the popping sound started after I just restored user data. And what do you mean by the connector in the device? That could be the cause of the problem?
Alright, I'll see. If it does, what should I do? Send it in to Samsung, or go to a AT&T place?
When I used the latest Liquid Smooth rom it also gave me a popping type sound when i play a game. But after reverting back to an older rom, the sound was fine. Could be cause of the latest kernel. =/

do you always restore system apps/data? i've seen lots of users with device issues because they do this. not saying its the cause of your problems, just passing the information along
by connector i mean the actual usb port on the device.

Sasuke: Quite possibly, because after I went back to my 3/13 backup, it was perfectly fine. I don't think the 3.4 Linux was out yet, was it?
Beer: I normally never restore system, as I knew it would cause problems, discovered by experience. Then I read that if it's the same ROM, then it would be fine. I never had a need to restore anything anyways, it started after I did a wipe to see if it would solve the issue of not charging. Oh, I see, then yes, there's a possibilty that that's it.
