Hey guys, I was just wondering if someone could inform me as to what the different overclock governors mean? Like, what is the difference between having it set from minmax, scary, smartass, interactive, conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance, what does each of them do differently ? and which is best in which situation? If you can even refer me to somewhere that I could read about it that would be awesome too
Thanks in advanced!

There are so many governors I would like to know what some of the new ones are. Mainly smartassv2 or Ondemandx, why are they better than the original? Greaslightning, superbad, scary, minmax? Honestly I would like to have info on all if possible. Ive googled but that mainly just tells me interactive, ondemand and conservative

This is one of the better write ups I have found Click me here at Xda. It doesn't have quite all of the governors, but it's close.
ya i read that one too.. The ones that are missing are the ones i'm really looking for though.. and i know i've had other people ask me what these governors meant which i think that the thread you posted has info on most of them like you said, but there are just sooooo many.

never heard of it :sarcasm:
why?
advantages?
disadvantages?
link for governor source?
i'm not a dev, but that post won't make a good argument for why it should be ported from somewhere, in this case nexus s/sgs2.
the way i see it, there's no need for it, interactive is the best governor.
Hi everybody...
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with the following information about IO Schedulers?
a) best for peformance? (I.e. gaming)
b) best for multitasking?
c) best for saving battery?
Thanks in advance
Recently I searched some info about this topic and these are my thoughs:
a) Noop
b) Sio
c) Not relevant. CPU Governor is key to save battery but not IO scheduler.
True but noop is a bit battery friendly.

I've started this thread just to know the best governor and I/O scheduler combination. Post the combination which you think is THE BEST!
I use Deadline and Smartmax. Sometimes Smartassv2 or Ondemand as well.
This doesn't belong here.

and on to on topic, i use smartmax with Noop schedular
Noop is said to use less cpu cycles so its KIND Of a battery savin schedular
Smartmax + Deadline...
I use smartmax and bfq while charging @1.7 GHz
And smartmax and noop on battery @1.5 GHz .
