I have a evo with 2.3.3 and i know there are plenty of ways on windows to root this thing. What about mac? Is there a version of any rooting software to work on a mac to root gingerbread without installing parallels and windows?

I have a HTC Droid Incredible which just got the Android 2.2 Froyo OTA update. Work PC runs Win XP SP3. I do not want to root my phone.
I am trialing easytether; haven't tried pdanet yet. Is there a way to tether the PC? I cannot install software on the PC because I don't have admin rights so USB tethering seems to be out. Froyo has Mobile Hotspot, but it seems to only work with Verizon's paid Mobile Broadband service. What about Bluetooth?
Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
It just won't root....I've tried the old version and newest version of z4root and nothing ...I dine have a PC atm so any solutions using a PC is not an option!
..plaza help.
Z4root was patched in 2.2.2 (EC05). You're going to have to use a pc, whether it's a friends or even one in a library.
think they'll ever update it to work with 2.2.2?
No. The exploit z4root used was patched so it would have to be a whole new root method which doesn't make sense to search for when froyo is outdated.
I rooted my Tmo Note 2 about 6 months ago. This was the first device I have ever rooted, and I loved everything about it. When I updated to 4.3 yesterday, I obviously lost root. I am wondering how I can root my Tmo Note 2 which is now running 4.3. I have a mac, and heimdall, but I don't know what files and steps I need to take to root my device once again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have read through a ton of different threads, but still have not had any luck. I am in desperate need of a solution (besides buying a pc just to root my note 2 via Odin). I need my root back!

Have you tried running a VM with Windows?
Try VirtualBox and setup a win7 VM within your MAC.
Hi all,
I would like to root my LG G3 phone. It is running Android 5.0.1. I haven't been able to root it with the no PC one click root apps, nor have I found a guide for doing it with Ubuntu.
Id like to either root it, or downgrade it to 4.4.2 and root it that way, but I don't have access to a Windows computer. Just Ubuntu 12.04.
Does anyone know what i have to download and what the process would be?
Thanks!
Is there a way to root with Mac? I'm used to using a PC but I'm away from that at the moment and have a Mac.
