I have a Defy.
The lights on the capacitive buttons stay on all the time, even when the screen is off, in standby mode, they are very dim and can only be seen in a dark room.
I have tried SuperDim/adjbrightness/screen filiter to turn them off.
also tried Leds Hack but the defy is not supported by it.
Anyone else gets this issue? is it a issue?
Doesn't seem to drain battery life, even if the light are always on.

Seems that if I close the phone app, or slide the keyboard shut and then while the buttons are still lit I turn the phone off (standby), they'll stay lit indefinitely. If I turn the phone back on after the normal timeout period they'll go out immediately. But unless I do so they'll stay on.
Anyone else notice this on their phone? Is there a way to prevent it?
I'm on EnergyROM Leo build 21877 and I couldn't replicate this. I'd say it's definitely a bug, but unfortunately I don't know how you'd prevent this other than waiting for the buttons to turn off.
So if your front buttons are lit and you turn your phone off the button lights immediately go out?
Something else I found sort of odd is that the phone and end buttons are not colored green and red respectively. That's purely an aesthetics things, but uncommon at least in the phones I've owned.
The light thing is somewhat inconvenient. When taking a call I have to wait four or five seconds after hanging up before the lights go out and I can turn the phone off. If nothing else a registry edit that would allow the lights to extinguish quicker than that would be a handy workaround.
Anyone else have a problem with the back lights not turnign on at night? i notice they liek to work during the day but at night when there needed they dont come on.
I'm having an odd problem. When my G2 is sleeping (screen off, not charging) the backlight intermittently turns on and off. I'm currently running a CM7 nightly (#21) but have attempted to troubleshoot this by flashing several (non-CM7) ROMs, and the problem remains.
I've been unable to see anything in a logcat dump showing the screen or backlight activity.
Another symptom is that pressing any of the "hard" buttons (besides power) cause the backlight to momentarily activate, then turn off.
It behaves this way in any mode--airplane, wifi on/off, bluetooth on/off.
Otherwise everything else seems to function normally--as long as the screen is supposed to be on, it's great. Sitting on the table or nightstand flashing the backlight all night, no so much.
Anyone else had this problem, or is it time to start hunting for a "donor" device?
Hi, got a SGH-T889 with the back lit led screen keep go out once in deep sleep (happen over night or after not using for a period of time). This can happen during charging or not charging, the phone is cold or warm, its environment warm or cold.
Detail steps of issue:
-Press the Wake/Power button, screen and backlit buttons lit up for a micro of second and turned off.
-Any button or combination of buttons pressed will wake the phone.
-Pull battery and pop it right back in, phone turn on but screen and backlit buttons lit up for a micro of second and turned off. The phone still function.
-Pull battery and leave it out for a minute, pop battery back in.
-Phone wake and function normally until the next time it happen.
After problem, I've notice I've got some new files which I don't know what are they but they're seem to relate to the issue. See attached.
I'm running sammobile stock 4.3 ROM: T889UVCMK7
Phone is rooted, have teamwin touch recovery v2.7.0.1
Does anyone experience this? and hopefully have a solution.
FYI I've noticed that if I put the watch in Airplane mode it's possible to let the screen off while charging. (Enabled in developers mode) Yesterday I did it and the screen shows charging indicator for a few seconds and then it goes off.
I don't know about this screen off stuff.
One time I put in on charger and screen stays ON,
One time in goes OFF.
One time it goes OFF and I wake up, look at the watch and the screen is LIT but black. (LCD is ON, but nothing is showing.)
I can say just one think, If it is black or low light in the room, than 90% screen stays ON.
If the light is high in the middle of the day, or I have lights ON, than the screen turns OFF when charging.
Very confused.
