No there is officail release date. Also most roms on XDA are built of the latest beta builds as that is what we do here. It is a development forum not a modded 100% working rom forum lol if you search you will see most roms have always been built of the latest leaked or beta releases.
I sit back and see all alot of people always asking when a stable release for xyz rom will be released bbut that is not what we do here. We disregard the stable for the beta as that is where true development rests not in making things that already work but making things that are not supposed to work but do.

Nice observation there thx for your replay but the only thing is I want to remain as stock as posible why so I have battery drain problems with rooted roms so it is just what I think so. I can't get 2 days of normal usage thats why I ordered a mugen battery 1500 MAH :X.

2 days? I have never seen any custom rom get more then maybe a day and a half. As we ask our phones to do more and more the less the battery will last. Charging every night is fast becoming needed on all high end devices. If you want to remain as close to stock as you can and want a stock rom the only one that will be able to answer that is HTC. Over the years I have seen us get leaks of the official builds just to find out when the official is releases it is not even close to the leak of the official build.
I would ask HTC as to when as only they know for sure.

Is there a stable Froyo with Sense out there, one based on the Evo's ROM cause I did flash a rom by avalaunch. But it was based on the desire. I didn't like that and it didn't seem as fluid. So my question is... Is there a Froyo with Sense ROM out there thats stable and based on the Evo? and if there is what features are not working (if any) thank you
So far, all the FroYo roms are missing ( at the very least ) the back camera & 4G. However DamageControl & Cyanogen should have working ROM's within the next few days. Cyanogen will be AOSP, but i think DC might be Sense UI.
I initially thought I'd want an AOSP rom but after trying them I much prefer Sense, mainly for the widgets. Lets hope DC has sense! Wouldnt that be a slap in the face to HTC devs who need until December to complete it.. and DC does it with 2 devs in their spare time?

Htc devs are in no rush and it's not due to be released in December but BY December meaning any time until then
Is there any time frame for when DC development will come out with froyo with sense ROM. I currently am running DC 3.2.3. If they release it will it be listed in DCupdater?
From what I understand Google will not let anyone release 2.2 until N1 has it for a while. HTC has no control over it. It is google's way of keeping the N1 atop of the phone ladder. The same will happen with the next version. Its google's game, we have to play by their rules.

I don't think that's true... The source code is released so anyone can compile it whenever. That's the whole point of it being open.
Where did you hear that?

I've been stalking the DC thread for the past few days & it looks like they're starting to wrap things up. They didn't give an exact ETA, but based off the few comments they have made, i'd guess within the next few days ( i would love it for this weekend ), but i guess we'll just have to wait & see .

Well, not entirely. When Google is finished testing on their "standard" hardware (in this case, the Nexus One) they will designate a final version. Then, HTC needs to get hold of this final version and add support for any unique hardware or software that their devices have. Think of it like release candidates and RTM versions of Windows. PC manufacturers get hold of the release candidates and test versions so that they can develop drivers and make sure their devices all work with the new OS. Then they get the final version, tweak what needs to be tweaked, run it through bug testing, and then pass it along.
In this case, HTC has to get the final version, make sure all of their apps and drivers work, make sure it works on their phones, and then pass it to Sprint for *more* testing to make sure it plays nice with the network and performs well.

I am aware that for many ROMs the camera doesn't work. Will it be working DC's ROM? And will it have sense? Is there any speculations of certain features not working? sorry these questions but since you have been "stalking" their thread you would know this stuff more than other (atleast I guess).

According to a Tweet from Damageless himself last night "finishing porting cameras to Android 2.2... getting close."
Also the ROM will include Sense w/ the option to disable if desired.

Thank you very much. Is there a approximate release date for the ROM?
I'm getting really mad because in my Rom Manager, I'm not getting the newest stable of cyanogenmod. I have the premium version and have been looking at the nightlies and everyday a new nightly version. I'm getting pissed and want cyanogenmod!!!
If anyone has any incite I would appreciate it greatly
thanks
You know what's pissing me off? All of these redundant threads. Nevermind the fact that all you need to do is search, even a quick glimpse of the past 20 posts or so would probably reveal that this question has already been asked.
Different people manage the different versions of CyanogenMod, and Koush happens to manage the version of the Incredible, who happens to be the same guy who developed both ROM Manager and ClockworkMod Recovery. He's already stated that he's been busy working on other software projects, and hasn't had the time to sign off on the Incredible version of CyanogenMod. With all that being said, the latest nightly for CM for the Incredible is probably just as good as the 6.1 "stable" for any other device. If you want to wait for the official stable, then wait.
You have to remember that this is a volunteer and open driven community, so keep your damn pants on and stop demanding newer versions of software.
I think it's time to up the moderation around here, especially with all the threads like these and the Swype ones as well.

+1 confirm 6.1 stable isn't available for DINC yet... just flash MIUI. its better anyway.
I hate to be that guy but MIUI isn't that great, it seems to want to be iOS way to too much and while it looks like it it fails to do what android does so well, removes the clutter

yea I would not install an ios lookalike unless thats really what you want...they aren't even similar roms mind you. it may be based on aosp but ui is completely different. try lithium, shadow, or ruby those are similar, fast, and stable

Expect at least two months. And for official HTC roms ported to our devices even longer.

I'm really surprised to find that after searching the evo dev forum that it appears that there aren't any active porting projects. I'm curious to know why that is... the evo 4g seems like a pretty speedy phone that should fairly easily support ics without a problem.
I know that Cyanogen will probably release an ICS port at some point "when it's done" but cyanogen is well known for having extremely long testing cycles before releases (even beta ones) are made and both the ics sdk and sources are now available... the tools are there, i'm just really surprised that it seems nobody is using them.

AFAIK, they've switched the base from the SDK dumps to source as soon as it was released.

Ports like this take months, as the source is not released with the drivers for all devices and the device drivers that are used in Gingerbread AOSP roms are not fully (if at all) compatible with the new OS version, not to mention the amount of testing that is involved to make sure everything is bug-free enough for any kind of beta release. ICS ports are in the works, just don't expect any sort of stable or mostly functional releases for a while...
Source Code just came out so time is needed to have anything stable for are Evo

That's a much older build though that JBQ admitted had some bugs that were quite bad. Better to way a day or so for the official build.
Can't wait for this. Will the native tethering hack still work with it?

It's not that much older. IMM74 is exactly 34 days newer than IMM30. The second M says they're both from the same quarter of the year. The two builds were made 30 days and 74 days into quarter M.

Do you use a custom launcher or put everything in folders? Tried to get into MIUI, but not for me unless there is a better way to use it.

Irrelevant to the thread, but when I used MIUI briefly, I used a custom launcher. I really don't like not having an app drawer. I like minimalist desktops

This thread is irrelevant to itself (if that's a thing). This is the development section so this should probably be in the general section. Believe me, the developers know this information a) because it's posted all over the interwebs today and b) they are developers and their new code beacons go off when ever El Goog releases new code.

I personally highly doubt that there is a huge differ in performance increase from the already leaked build for CDMA version and the newly pushed out one. Some of the increased performances that are said it has I experience with the already leaked build. The camera is faster opening. The rotation is much faster. I don't experience any bugs.
When we actually get the official one you can bet I will put that on here and root it so I can benefit from overclocking and underclocking (good battery life)
Surely someone with over 400 posts would know that this has no business in the development forum.

You've been running an alpha build (basically) of the LTE version. It lacks updated kernels, drivers, and maybe even code. It was an accidental release.
So as awesome as it is, it's very possible it'll be even better when it comes out.
So OGP community. I like ROMs. You like ROMs. We all like ROMs.
If you could have any ROM on this phone. What would it be? Why?
Is there a reason for somebody to build it for our device? Is it in Lollipop?
Any ROM at all?
I might take another ROM or two under my wing for weekly builds now that Lollipop is here. Especially since Carbon is taking it's good ol' time updtaing. :l
Happy flashing
As long the ROM supports F240x, I'll be good.
Any of the Bliss or Beanstalk ROMs. I would like to have TWRP work with the lollipop encryption if that is possible. That's not related to the ROMs though.

On all my devices i like slimrom roms. But on the e980 , nothing really strong on the latest slimrom.
i wish for a stable kitkat versions because every time when a new android version comes out, the rom developers run to make their rom with their latest android versions. i do understand that they take time to offer their rom with the latest android in order to compete each other but, the old bugs which might not be reported so often or getting ignored, wont get fixed and so it results to half fixed rom versions which the devs dont pay attention anymore bc they all want the latest stuff but plenty of bugs. so how can some of us suppose to profit from custom roms when the older androids arent finished ? that s the reason why some more ppl running back to stock roms which you are not able to custumize your settings and tweaks like no other...
that s my opinion, i hope you understand what i mean...

I do! I agree, for the most part. But actually many ROM makers continue to support KitKat builds to finalize them for people like you, who prefer stability (Totally understandable). I'll build Carbon's final KitKat build when they're done and you can bet your butt that'll be stable!
I want to focus on Lollipop because there's going to be a whoooole year ahead of us on it, may as well start now I suppose
Sorry the ROM community overlooks you, I hope you are able to experience a stable custom Android experience soon

but what i fear is, that the community will stop working on our phone roms and then it will be abandoned bc of other phone models. so in that case we will be left hanging again...

Well, I'm here for a solid number of months yet. And, if need be I'll write a good tut for building ROMs for our phone specifically if it is necessary before I leave for a new phone. Anybody can build, you just need a decent computer, some intelligence, and lots of patience. So that's not too much of a concern

We will do our best to get the bugs fixed and release a final Kitkat Milestone build sometime in the future, but no guarantees as usual."
Sounds like they're working for a stable KitKat still. KitKat kernel? Mmmm :T The commits in the LP kernel took quite some time. I don't even have the old sources anymore. I suppose I can go redownload them but that's a lot of work for not very many users benefits.
I will look into it I suppose.
