If you want a 600dollar paper weight. Alot of people have done it before without looking into it and bricked there phones. Atleast you asked. They have different radios.

Your lucky u asked very lucky.. I did just what u said.. And heavily bricked..You Cant flash a gsm rom or any incompatible rom onto a cdma device ull loose usb recognition for good.. No usb =No odin =No phone

I recall seeing someone downloading a rom (which was labeled as E4GT) to their phone only to find out it was for the international version. Read the other comments to make sure this doesn't happen to you.
...
dang seriously no odin u cant do **** BUT if it is bricked and u cant do nothing to it cant u just take it to sprint and tell them it just randomly happened and if they cant fix it they would just replace it no??
not saying im gonna try it just asking
thanks

Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Why would you do that? Its basically the same phone, except the nexus is pure google and gets worse 4g data speeds. lol

Wait for the sgs2 then you'll have a even more badass phone
personally i think the epic is futureproof as it comes, it still has the fastest single core out there with an even better gpu. if only it was equipped with 1gb ram sigh
I could see why someone would want a pureGoog phone, and the NFC stuff is nifty... But jumping ship from the Epic with all the fantastic ROMs available for it? I wouldn't do it.
guess who bricked his phone? this guy.... ugh off to sprint. good thing i got insurance
Bricked how? Unless it literally won't turn on, you could always Odin..

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

no its the brick licked his phone then he kicked it to the curb
Hmmmm. Now its starting to make sense. The op was very confusing but... all of our comments brought it together. Brb.... time for my meds.

hahahaha. yeah it wouldnt turn on at all. not even the blue light anymore.... took it to sprint they gave me a new one! yay sprint.
immediately go home and flash whatever bricked it in the first place.... I bet it was just a bad phone....not .... This time be careful and read

Ideally, you would also share your experience to help others not brick, lick, or brick lick their phones too.

Probably flashed something that was meant for the international version.

i was trying to flash a stock kernel and for some reason the flash stopped..... it stayed that way for 10 minutes.... so i was forced to turn off the phone. idk why it did what it did. sorry wish i could help more.
This is for those who care. The Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus is safe to flash on Sprint! Don't know good it would work because of the 4G sim card it uses.

Interesting. I thought Sprint only flashes their phones.

If this is true, I'm going to make it happen, ASAP.
Since it's not, and "Megan" from Sprint is obviously either just new, or a complete idiot, I'm gonna stick with my ET4G and be happy, and use my wife's Gnex work phone whenever she's not looking.

I guarantee you she was confusing the Galaxy Nexus with the Epic Touch or Nexus S.

I played around with my friends new Nexus yesterday and I was not impressed, the graphics performance was horrible and the device felt laggy.

Definitely not possible. In order to provision a phone on Sprint you either:
Need to have the ESN/MEID in the Sprint system, and only certain Sprint personnel can do this, or
Illegal activity of which XDA does not approve.
Long and short of it - Sprint reps are never to be trusted on these things. They only know what is in a script -and when they can't find it they say whatever they can to make you happy.
surprised this thread made it even this far
A friend of mine accidentally flashed an i9100 rom onto his Hercules and now it is not responding at all, not to my jig, not to power buttons, etc.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
You can try and get in touch with this guy, he says he's the first to be able to fix ours phones... His name is connexion2005 but idk if it's true or not.

I think we'll just opt to use his T-mo insurance if it can't be fixed with ODIN and such. Thanks though!

That is your only fix. Or sending it to Samsung but has the same effect.

CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
and i have read mostly everything on try to turn it on to stock regular
but my computer isnt reading the phone like it wasnt even connected
and i just want to kno step by step what i need to download and what i need to do to fix it.
It looks like your friend tried to flash an international ROM to it... In that case, only Jtag can fix it. Mobiletechvideos will be able to help.

what or who is jtag but the thing is if i put it on a wall charger it works and the blue light is on meaning its charging
First. Are you 100% sure that what you have is the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4g Touch?
Second. JTAG is a way to recover hard bricked devices. It involves taking the device completely apart and flashing the stock firmware directly to the phone through the JTAG pads on the motherboard.
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-epic-4g-touch-jtag-brick-repair/
Check them out. They do great work and offer a ton of services. There turn around time is great as well. They can even root and flash any ROM you like.

i think because when it used to work i connected to my bluetooth radio and it always said epic 4g touch so i thought it was one unless its not im not really sure
That would be proof that it is. I am afraid that your friend screwed the pooch. That device is only compatible with root methods and ROMs specifically made for it. Any other galaxy S2 ROM or root method results in the very least a boot loop and at worst a complete brick. You are stuck in between and require a JTAG.
