Bonjour,
I've got a problem with this rom.
I've installed it with this link (http://www.cooldevs.com/archives/120), and just after it, flash:
- Stock_Hboot.zip
- RcTweaks For Stock Hboot
- Weather Pack
Reboot...
There was few decreasements in comparaison of InsertCoin, but the more annoying is the new Market which bug.
He try to restore me all apps (I don't know if it's linked to my problem)
I fell asleep during restauration of all apps andat wake up, I saw that few apps didn't ben restored.
- So I tried to restore them but impossible : I had an download error which was impossible to resolve even with delete the cache of Market application, wipe dalvik cache (executing the script which migrate it to sd-ext on the way). I precise that is was not a problem of space of my ext4.
- A second message at startup which tells me ""your phone is using more current than the charger is able to deliver...". For the moment, I never had this message (maybe it's because it's a pure Sense 3 rom I don't know...)
- In the way, I'm asking if there is a way to prevent Market to restore all apps at startup...because it's very penible if I have many applications, and I prefer to choose myself what I'd like to restore (if it's linked lso to my market problem...)
Edit : Even when restoring my rom, I've problem now with my market. Maybe it's the conversion on the fly of my ext3 partition to ext4 (to test the new rom) with 4ExtRecovery which has problem. So I return to recovery, check partition alignement which tell me that my fat32 is not properly aligned. I wipe partition table to rebuild all and I give you some news.
Edit 2: It changes nothing...now my market of my first rom don't work anymore...
Thanks a lot
OK, partition your card properly first and flash your new rom. Then during setup when you link your account to your phone, click you don't want it backed up and restored, remove both ticks. Then you hold power button and turn airplane mode on. You finish setup, push Titanium backup on your phone and restore your apps. Now you turn airplane mode off and the Market won't be downloading anything anymore. If you don't have TB backup, you're screwed mate. You can't abort silly Google restore nor you can choose what to install, flush list or do anything with it. It completely whacks a concept of having a clean install and that is the reason I hate ports even more. I know this is at best a workaround and not a solution, but probably you won't get anything better.

Ok, Thanks I'll try that for the future if I want to re install a new Rom but why I've this problem even in restoring my old rom?
And the most strange is that the problem is there also with my old HTC Hero under Cyanogen :-(.
Thanks.

I decided to try my first custom ROM... (installing virtous) and have a few questions/issues:
1) I started with a Nandroid backup.
2) I did a full titanium backup
3) I used ROM manager to install Virtous (did a full system swipe)...
Ok.. here is where I am having my issues
After the install, I went back to the marketplace and installed titanium backup.
What option should I restore? I would like to get all the widgets and data restored. I tried restore all apps+system data but I am wondering if that is reinstalling the bloatware that virtous removed. If so, what are the correct options in Titanium backup I should use?
Next, I tried to reinstall everything but I got that dreaded low on storage and then out of storage space error. My phone has lots of storage both internal and on the SD card - so the restore (I am guessing) failed at some indeterminate point. Most of my widgets were not loading properly (beautiful widget, pure calendar, multi-icon etc) after the attempted restore.
Regardless, even if I clean-up the widgets, the low memory message persisted so I was left with no choice but to revert to my previous nandroid backup .
So... how do you install a custom rom and easily reestablish your previous state/settings without getting the low/ out of storage warning?
Also, one of my goals is to get a deodexed rom so I can install custom themes (e.g., battery mods, etc). Can I just flash the deodexed stock rom over my current rom (I did not understand deodexed when I first upgraded to froyo) without having to do a swipe? Will I run into any issues?
Thanks
I tried again with less apps/ data and still have no luck.
I did a restore all apps and system data from titanium, got a low storage than out of storage error (the phone has over 60% of its storage available so I know I am nowhere near close to actually using all the storage).
When titanium completed, most apps forced close (gmail, rom manager, etc) so I assume the storage error is impacting the restore.
Back to my nandroid backup again.
If I am running stock Froyo, can I just flash a new sense based froyo without wiping? (trying to find a way to experiment and really want to get a deodexed rom installed)
When new ROM is flashed, in TB, try reinstalling only user apps, not system apps.
Why?
The new ROM you flash and the ROM you are coming from should both have system apps already in them, so why reinstall system apps from the old ROM that most likely exist in the new ROM?
But how do I reestablish the previous settings? Or do I have to reconfigure all my accounts, etc each time I install a new rom.
Thanks
Me too. How to correct?
uncommon 1.1 on my phone is doing same thing. 1.0 had no problem.
Just a theory as I haven't tried to install another ROM...
I noticed the touchdown data file on my phone was quite big (>70mb) - it appears that when touchdown's data file gets very large, the message appears more often (looks likes there is a bug in Android with large data-sets). I cleared touchdown's data and resynced which shrunk the data file to ~12mb. I reinstalled all the apps I removed to try and eliminate the memory error and so far have been running smoothly.
When I have some time, I am going to try another ROM and see if I can restore without any storage issues. I still am curious how everyone resets their settings from ROM to ROM (or do they manually configure everything each time)
After poking around in astro file manager, contacts(cross-linked mess), and uninstalling some rarely used programs all to no avail......
I fixed my "low on program memory" notification by emptying my deleted items in the mail app- a hotmail account that is rarely used.

To be on the safe side, just reinstall only apps, with or without data. There is no real point in wiping days, and yet reinstalling system apps and data. Kind of defeats the purpose. And yes, manually add accounts. Takes more time, but minimizes conflicts. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, which is a small price to pay to eliminate potential headaches.

I've run into this as well. In fact it was the original reason I decided to move forward with rooting my phone since I had to wipe it anyway. Has anyone looked into what program monitors this and flags the error? Is memory not being reported correctly, or is there a tolerance that maybe we need to tweak in the code somewhere?
Hi,
I was just trying out a few ROMs, and after flashing CyanogenMod (The stable release, can't remember the exact name) and then doing a full wipe and restoring my LeeDroid Nandroid backup, I ran into a bit of a kerfuffle...
After booting up, I was greeted with blank homescreens - which was a bit annoying, but nothing too bad - and so went to get started on repopulating them.. only to find hardly any apps were present. I put this down to some of them not having synced yet, until I noticed that even system apps were missing; Market, Music etc - not a single downloaded/sideloaded app is present. They appear under the "Manage Applications" section of the Settings menu but only Data and Cache are present, not the Application themselves.
I reflashed the Nandroid backup again (and again), and was met with the same, only Astro File Manager had miraculously appeared so I could at least install some apps from my SD Card using that. So after installing the Market and Root Explorer from there, I could see that the System Apps were infact there, but required manual installation. I can't even re-download all of the lost Apps, as even attempting to select one in the Market leads to a force close.
I can effectively do nothing, except use the tiny array of Apps that are actually there, which at least does include Messaging and Phone. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this, or a partial-solution at least?
Thanks
Ok, just as I finished typing this the Factory Reset finished and everything loaded. It seems everything is working now, but still, I'm just left with System Apps and with no sign of my other apps syncing/downloading.
After the wipe factory reset did you do nandroid install again straight after?

Yeah, and the same happened again. I tried various nandroids from all sorts of ROMs, and I would just get the same, even restoring the Stock ROM.
That said, the thread may as well be closed, I just went and did everything manually and everything's fine now. It took many hours, but it's in a usable state now.
i expect u will face the same problem soon as long as ur apps list will grow and be installed on ur device, this is a big issue i faced and still experimenting to get the best solution for, but currently the most effective cure is to mount ur sd card to a card reader, and go to the folder android_secure, cut some bunch of files ther(maybe half of them) and past to ur desktop, mount back the sd to ur device, ur phone will bahave normally now, this will work great after ur nandroid backup, when u see it work, try again the previous step and start to add files to android_secure folder from ur desktop, untill the bad behaviors start to occur.
hope this will help
Hello,
I am thinking of upgrading to 2.29.405.5 from 2.29.405.2.
My device came non-branded when I bought it.
The only thing i've done is that I 've rooted it.
What are the steps that I should follow to upgrade?
Should I update using the update available through my device(via WiFi) or download to my pc and then transfer it via usb?
I am thinking of buying an 8GB card, is there any way to copy all the content from the old to the new one, without having to unistall sth? (I haven't used app2sd or apps like that).
Also, to get this right, what app2sd does actually? Allows me to use a partition of my sd card as an extra space to install apks, as the space available in the device?
Thank you for your time!
If you are rooted never use the OTA updates. Either use a RUU and root again or flash a .405.5 based custom rom. If you never used A2SD+ (the one with ext partition) you can just copy all files from one card to the other. (make sure you also copy the hidden files).
Here you can find some more info about A2SD
Thank you for your reply!
I've checked my files and found that I have downloaded this:
"RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed"
It should be from a link found at the forums here..
Should I install this one? I don't have to unroot?
A RUU will unroot your phone, but why not flash a custom rom?
If you want to stay close to the stock rom just flash Leedroid
I thought I 've read somewhere in the forums, that upgrading a rooted device will cause a brick. Is that correct? Or this happens via OTA updates?
Is Leedroid similar to sense style?
I am not familiar to all this, but I am willing to try, as long as my device will not be bricked!
Also does Leedroid support greek localization?
Upgrading via OTA causes problems for some people. But since you wanna flash the ROM using RUU, it won't cause any problems, you have to root it again, as said before.
Leedroid IS a sense rom, check out the Desire android developement sub-forum.
For greek localization - if the Eλληνικά is for Hellenic, then yes, LeeDroid supports it .
Yes Eλληνικά is for Hellenic
I visited the Leedroid site and saw that there are some problems at the versions 2.3a-c..
Is 2.3d a more stable one?
I know that, anything isn't perferct, but leaving original rom for a custom one and having problems with it doesn't sound good to me.. :-S
With Leedroid will I be able to use market and all the applications I used?
In example, I have already backed up, my apks with Titanium backup and my SMS with SMS Backup&Restore, will I be able to restore EVERYTHING with these 2 applications to the Leedroim rom?
For the above question I 've found here this: "Not booting / Stuck after boot animation – Allow the phone time to boot after flashing. Sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes. Also don’t restore system settings using Titanium. It can cause faults (unless you want to take the risk, ONLY restore items in GREEN colour font)"
I have stopped to follow the Leedroid thread, but most of the issues are user related and not rom. So if you do a full wipe and only restore data apps (the green once) with titanium you should not have any issues.
With the Leedroid you will be able to do anything the 405.5 stock sense can do plus a bit extra.
Yes titanium is good to back up your apps, no idea about sms backup since it's not important to me. Also you home screen settings will be gone and you need to re-enter your email accounts (maybe you can also backup email accounts with titanium). However, this would also happen if you use a RUU.
If you want to flash leedroid, I assume you are rooted with unrevoked and have Clockworkmod as recovery image?
If yes:
Download this
Put it on the sd card (not in any folder)
Boot in to recovery
Nandroid (backup)
Wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe all data on the phone, the sd remains untouched), wipe cache and under advanced wipe dalvik cache
Select "install zip form sd" chose Leedroid and let it install.
This will install the noA2SD version, if you want more space for apps look in to making a ext partition on your sd card and use this file instead.
2.3d is a stable one. And some functions are working better for me as on the stock 2.2!!!
So far, no problems/freezes etc.
Market is installed, I can assure you can use it.
Titanium backup is working too (however not tried SMS backup - but it should work)
I only backup the apps that I use(d) + the data for it and the so-called "green colored settings" and TI always restored it without problems.
Thank you both for your replies!
You really encourage me to try leedroid
What is the choice at titanium backup batch processes that will backup up the applications installed with their data?
Also, I 've been reading about this so called "radio", if I 've understood well, this is responsible for the call, sms, mms recieving and sending or I am completely wrong?
If I install leedroid (the no-a2sd version) shouldn't I install a radio as well?
When should I do that? Which one? (the latest found here -> 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 ?)
To see if I am pretty sure of what I am going to do exactly:
* Download this -> trying to, getting a (5xx) error :S
* Put it on the sd card (not in any folder) ->with the name it comes? Or renaming it to "update.zip"?
* Boot in to recovery -> holding vol (-) button untill it boots to recovery, right?
* Nandroid (backup) - > select it through the choices available there..
* Wipe data/factory reset (this will wipe all data on the phone, the sd remains untouched), wipe cache and under advanced wipe dalvik cache -> select it through the choices available there..
* Select "install zip form sd" chose Leedroid and let it install.
After selecting install, what should I expect? (waiting time, etc.)
The batch process is backup all user apps + system data, and there you should uncheck the "red ones". You notice that it has the largest number on the right.
You can update the radio whenever you want, but I did after installing LeeDroid (the same way you install as the custom ROM) and no error. I am using the radio in my signature, but used 5.11.05.27 before, so I recommend to stick with that for a while.
1. The noa2sd file : LD2.3dNoa2sd
2. You don't have to rename it. Works with any name.
3. Yes
4. Yes, it is stored under backup & restore under Clockworkmod
5. correct
After install you should expect the device to rebuild the system/cache etc. - for me it took 5 mins approx, then it boots up to the home screen if everything is working correctly
Ok, so updating the radio is to be done after installing the Leedroid rom!
At last (after some tries to get the download working I started dling the file).
I might give it a try today
Will reply here, if I need any help!
Thank you very much for your help!
Careful when updating radio, this is one off the things that can brick your phone. Check md5 and don't interrupt the the process. If you don't feel comfortable updating radio, it's not essential.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Could you explain me what is the radio? :-S
By wiping data and installing a new rom, won't it be needed to update the radio? :S
Wouldn't it be deleted by the wiping process? If no, then why to update it?
As I see now the version of radio I have is:
32.49.00.32U_52.11.05.27
PS: I've already upgraded to 2.29.405.5.
As you said earlier, the radio
is responsible for the call, sms, mms recieving and sending

.
So basically it controlls the mobile network transmitter, bluetooth, wifi, etc.
And no, it won't get deleted when you do a full wipe!
Your radio is alright - I had the same when installing LD 2.3d and it will work on it 100%, so no update needed!
I really thought that it would delete everything along with the radio.. :S I still have much to learn
I finally downloaded the leedroid rom
Hello again,
I bought an 8GB class 6 microSD today.
And thinking of creating the partitions so that I can use the SD as internal memory.
Is that right?
Is there any tutorial I can read to understand this feature?
What should I do to create the partitions needed?
Thank you.
Read the first post of the ROM thread, it tells you what you need to have setup.
Then Google videos on GPartEd and use that to partition your SD card. Or just search the forum as it's been covered loads already
I know that it has been covered already. I just asked links because I am not 100% sure of what I am looking for. :S
Will look and reply here. Thank you.
Is this thread helpful for what I exactly need? :S
Also, I 've connected my mobile to the PC via USB and the icon at the "My Computer" window looks disabled. I double click on it but it says "Insert a disk at this unit...".
Could somebody please help me to prepare my 8GB microsd for the ext partitions...I haven't done this again and I am new to this..
Also any link to a tutorial would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Every time I reboot, the initial start of Sense it FCs.
It does restart and then run normally, but I'm wondering
what is causing the problem?
What might cause a force close on sense at boot time? My environment is
listed in my signature -- I'm also using outlook (virus checker) if it matters.
How can I address it. would reloading / reinstalling my rom (virtuous 3.2)
help ?
Can I save my PIM data and wipe and reload it? I need to preserve calendar
(phone) a phone contacts. I do NOT sync to google. Would My Backup Pro
do for that? Would that save my contact groups?
I was thinking maybe there is something in system data that was crashing sense?
so a reset / rebuild would help?
Thanks
I use my backup pro and it'll sync apps and ddata contacts calanders basically everything but it never worked with dictionary for me. Reloading the rom may help and you can reload it without wiping since its the same rom as before.

Have you tried fixing permissions in Rom Manager? That might solve your problem. If not I would say backup everything that you want, and then wipe everything and then reinstall the rom.
My guess is something is sitting in Sense data corrupting your sense UI.
Go into Settings > Applications > Running and locate HTC Sense (might be 2) and clear data.
This will cause you to have to redo all your home screens but you will not lose your data and will not have to redo e-mail etc.
I was thinking the same thing
although, would that account for it working the second time it tries to run?
that is, it FCs on initial start. but when it tries to run again, it appears
to work and the home screens come up.
the data is in /data or /data/data right? so if I make a nandroid
backup, I could return to where I am now?

Yes, do a nand backup however, the way you clear it is
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Running > then click on HTC Sense (the larger one) and clear data.
No need to go into /data/ at all
Hey guys, got a strange problem here. I'm running MIUI-XJ 2.3.30 A2SD.
Had 8 apps to update via Google Play and 31mb internal left (over 600mb on sd-ext, too). In the middle of updating the apps I've got a Google Play crash followed by few other fc's, phone said my internal memory is too low to operate and such - so I tried the most obvious fix, which is of course rebooting the phone.
That was a mistake, apparently. Phone will not boot anymore - goes through the bootscreen and gets stuck on the yellow MIUI splash. It's not a bootloop, the phone just freezes and the only thing I can do is battery removal. Tried booting it up with no sd card as well, nothing seems to help though.
Is there anything I can do except full wipe via recovery? I had some important sms and spent quite a bit of time customizing the desktop, I'm not to keen on doing that again.
Is it possible to delete some apps via adb or something like that? Or is there a point in trying to install the rom again on top of my system?
Thanks in advance, help really appreciated!
Try clearing dalvik cache and cache from recovery and then boot. Thereafter clear some space or change your a2sd scheme.
Thanks for the answer! Makes me feel silly I did not think of that myself lol, sounds like an obvious solution.
Problem is, it still does not seem to help though - wiped /cache and dalvik-cache on data, sd-ext and system - still nothing, same problem persists. Stuck at MIUI bootanimation.
Any other ideas? I'm really kind of desperate to recover the data.
- Take a nandroid backup first. So you can start over if need be.
Some things to try
- Only flash ROM and see if it helps.
- Wipe data. Flash ROM fresh. Install Titanium Backup. With TB locate nandroid on sdcard and try to extract your data. Maybe restoring the launcher and messaging will do the trick. Not sure . Try. You can always start over.
- Fix permissions in recovery
There's an app called AROMA Filemanager that can be started from recovery and allows you to modify all phone partitions, all you need is to mount them before starting the app. Here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25911276
Tried flashing the ROM again on top of my system - no effect whatsoever, still gets stuck at bootanimation. Also, tried the permission fix as well as the RMD recovery "apk uid mismatches" fix. Still nothing.
Going to give the AROMA a try, having some problems right now though - using RMD recovery, no touch support. Trying to flash 4ext touch from fastboot somehow!
Thank you. Will keep you updated.
UPDATE//
Managed to get the AROMA up and running, deleted few apps from /data/apps, nothing to delete from /system really. /cache is cleared, so are all 3 dalvik-cache folders.
System still does not want to start.
Any ideas what might have happened? Seems like I'm running out of options and will have to do a clear install, after all.
You probably damaged some important system files so tho phone can't load system. The best solution is to restore some nand backup if you have, or to do a full wipe and start from scratch.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Flashes and Thunders
If that was the case, reflashing the ROM on top of my current system should fix the problem, while it didn't - right? Also, I find it hard to believe that "important system files" could have been damaged during routine Google Play apps update...
Than a full wipe and fresh install is inevitable...
