Official WP 7.5 Mango - Visual VM and Internet Sharing

Anyone with the now official WP 7.5 Mango update able to see the Visual Voicemail and Internet Sharing features enabled in your phones?
I am using Samsung Focus v1.3 on AT&T. Updated to official an cannot locate these features. I was kinda hoping these would be enabled with the AT&T official update...
AT&T won't have Visual Voicemail. Internet Sharing not coming to Launch Devices. Go to Windows Phone Blog and read. They claim the phones don't have the hardware for it. *laughs*
If we had those features enabled, we would be able to locate them in the phone section. Maybe when we get a break down of the registry we can force them to show, but they still wouldn't work.

Launch devices will have IS. It will just be delayed till you get an OEM Update. This has been stated already over a month ago.

Not true (the bit about Internet Sharing). They say the manufacturer needs to release a driver update for launch devices, so it's entirely up to the OEMs. I'm sure HTC mentioned they didn't have enough time to release their update for release but would do at a later date. I'm sure the others will follow.
True.. HTC stated weeks ago that no Internet Sharing for launch devices with this update... Just have to wait..

Got Mango on ATT - No Visual Voicemail

So I got the update on the leading edge. Still no VVM under phones on ATT. Called and they say the phone doesn't support it... Of course none of them even know anything about the phone or that there was an update today.
Should we all call in and make them think about this?
I think ATT only supports VVM on the iphone. I don't think it's even on android phones. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
They support iPhones and... Get this RIM Blackberries!
What is their issue?
if they do it for us it will cost us
I wish they had it, I have to use youmail and gv, youmail for visual vm and gv for transcription. Wish I had an all in one.
I used those products in the past and it kept getting out of sync, so I just gave up. How simple could it be for ATT to just "flip a switch".

I did that and now have the RTM. However how do we know this is the AT&T matched firmware with the Focus? Since that hasn't been released yet according to the wheresmyphoneupdate website.
Also would you mind running a test on your focus? Download the application called "Bandwidth" and run a 3G test. Let me know your best results. I'm getting terrible results even with the new RTM and Samsung update package.

Programs which relied on Samsung specific drivers are updated and working (compass, etc), which shows this is a carrier ROM. Also, the phone update website has been updated since 10 AM PST to show that the updates are being delivered - I updated at 10:15 AM PST.
Also, sooo many variables affect bandwidth that that isn't a very definitive test on how the update is. Especially with the new network ATT is putting in place.
Please wait for a chat representative to respond.
Welcome to AT&T Chat. My name is 'Kathy Williams' and I’ll be happy to assist you today.
Kathy Williams: I apologize that you are having problems with your Visual Voicemail, Mr.
Kathy Williams: I will be happy to assist you.
: thank you
: I looked everything up on how to set it up but for some reason it is not showing up in settings
: i was informed that I need to have ATT do somethign on their side to "turn on" VVM
Kathy Williams: Please allow me one moment to pull up your account.
Kathy Williams: Did this new update include Visual Voicemail for your phone?
: yes
: All windows phones were updated today and the update includes VVM
: all i need is the "switch" or whatever turned on so that my service allows access to it
Kathy Williams: I apologize but we do not show Visual Voicemail available on your phone at this time.
Kathy Williams: I do not show that we are supporting that feature on this phone yet.
: do you show the Samsung Focus S in your system yet?
Kathy Williams: Yes sir. It has been in our system for awhile.
: does that phone support VVM?
Kathy Williams: No sir.
: ok...
: ATT states they are the premier carrier for windows phones but doesnt offer visual voice mail yet?
: is there any way to find out if they ever will?
Kathy Williams: No on that phone yet. We only have it on the iPhone and Blackberry at this time.
Kathy Williams: I am sure we will offer it. However it is not available right now.
: and there is no way to find out if or when though?
Kathy Williams: We do not have any information at this time, Mr.
WTF!!!
Tom Warren with PC Mag reported on twitter a while ago that hes hearing from sources that AT&T will offer VVM for our phones within the next 30 days, lets hope that is the case!
Anyone that forced Mango today on ATT just got the same RTM Mango version that has been available for awhile with a manual install. You may have got a firmware update from Samsung that enabled the Compass, but you didn't get the ATT Carrier customized Mango yet.
Once you get that if it doesnt have VVM and Mobile Hotspots then feel free to complain.
Um, im on at&t and got it legitly and i dont have vvm yet. at&t is not supporting it yet...

I forced and my firmware is AT&T (as labeled LG-C900AT) and there's no VVM option.
Sent from my LG-C900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I don't know how many times it has to be said. AT&T does not currently support Visual Voicemail on Windows Phone 7 or Android, only on iPhone and BlackBerry. It will take upgrades on their back end before we see Visual Voicemail.

[Q] How can we get working tether on our phones?

Hello,
Running a Lumia 900, developer unlocked. I am rather new to wp7. I had it when it first came out but went back to android so i am not too familiar with wp7. Is there a guide or something to enable free tethering like there is for android?
Nope... Im sure this would require interop unlock...

WM6.5 and Pandora works !!!

I was testing my legacy Touch Pro 2 (CDMA) now that there is a Verizon Wireless tower close enough to obtain a signal. It's simply stunning that the Pandora app I installed on it this evening works on the darn thing...yet Windows Phone 7.8 HSPL...my Titan (Eternity), I cannot, I have to use Metro Radio Pro. Same thing with Skype...in background no less. The keyboard on this device is something special! No question here, I just wanted to share something our Windows Phone 7.x devices won't do or developers refuse to do.

Is VoLTE possible

I have a Singapore variant of the tab S4 it makes and receives calls just fine over 3G but wont make them over LTE is VoLTE even possible on this? I travel the country and have ran into a few instances where I have LTE coverage but not 3G
It looks bad
Samsung has disabled VoLTE in every tablet that supports it, tab s3, s4, s6 and s7. It won't comment on this. I suggest contacting Samsung and asking for an update to address this issue. I understand there is a complex hack to accomplish this, but it involves editing a binary file.
If Samsung won't do it, maybe the carrier firmware can enable VoLTE?
AT&T says its Tab S4 variant will continue to work after their 3G shutdown.
Tab S4 (SM-T837A) is listed in their compatible devices:
https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network.pdf
Maybe this means VoLTE is enabled for calling? Or they might mean it will keep working but only for data LTE.
There is no carrier tab s4 that will work for calls, and I don't think sms either! The carriers have a system in which you can have data/talk/text on a samsung Tab 3,4,5,6,7,8 if you also have a samsung phone.
Samsung also has a setting you can enable to make calls on your tablet if you also have a phone, if both devices are logged into your Samsung account. No security flaw there! Not sure if the phone must be Samsung too, but it would seem so!
I'm not going to say what I think about a manufacturer going out of its way to reverse a setting, intentionally crippling its flagship products, so customers need to purchase more stuff to obtain the expected functionality!
I did write to the CEO of Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd.. I asked for a firmware update to enable VoLTE in the Tab S series beginning with the S3.
Earlier Tab S don't have compatible hardware. If you clear your browser data, so no one can tell you're a hacker, and google 'Samsung investor relations', you can find his name and address.
I'm not going to dox him here. But if anyone wants to write him, please be very civil, clean, upright, and simply ask for an update, followed by, "I only ask for Samsung to live up to its reputation! I think my request is more than reasonable! Thank you for taking your valuable time to read my message. Best Regards, name"
Don't use spinglish--words and phrases that mean one thing implied to mean something else. And example in reverse is when Dell dubbed one of its laptops exploding into flames, 'a thermal event'!
Just be direct, brief, polite and honest.
Samsung chat says:
Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Care. I’m D-- ....
... It will be updated in coming update. You will receive a notification on your tablet once it got updated.
‎8:36 PM When do you think the update will be?
‎8:37 PM Profile SEA Digital Messaging We don't have the exact information. Hope it will update will release in couple of weeks.
‎8:38 PM This is due to the 3G shutdown? That will work then, with the update I'll be able to download a phone app from the app store?
Thank you
‎8:38 PM Profile SEA Digital Messaging It is not about the 3G shutdown, the feature is not available on the tablet. Carrier have not permitted to use this feature on Samsung tablet. You can use caling feature on third party applications like WhatsApp ETC.
‎8:41 PM ok yes. Then I will wait for the update. Is this official it will be updated?
the tablet will be updated to download a phone app?
‎8:42 PM Profile SEA Digital Messaging Yes it will be official once the Update released you will get notification on your screen.
Once you get the Update it will update automatically to make the calls.
‎8:44 PM ok thank you D

So maybe it'll be soon I'm hoping to use VoLTE for my tablet soon. Otherwise Singapore firmware might allow VoLTE calls currently? Why is that? I can't download or install or side-load any phone app currently.
edit update: I flashed to t-mobile using odin and that lets me send and receive texts just fine using messenger app. I use tello so I can place outbound calls over wifi too, so I can just use google voice for any other phone call inbound. I've heard other versions outside usa might be able to place calls though?? Suppose we'll get an update here soon anyway hopefully.

There will be convoluted ways to get data/talk/text on the Tab S models without adding VoLTE compatibility.

Like calling on other devices, if both a phone and tablet are logged in to your Samsung account, you can use your tablet for Data/talk/txt, because it's actually using the phone.
