After switching to Stock GB I really miss the sense camera app anyone have any suggestions?
I'm using the HTC amaze camera
sent from g2
im pretty sure the amaze cam is only for sense roms and like he said hes on stock gb
I use FXCamera from the market. Not quite Sense, but it has more features than the stock camera app. It's too bad the Sense app needs the Sense framework (though it makes 100% sense that it does) because I love it for what it's able to do.. Just made the transition back to AOSP just because =p
I think Vignette is a really good camera app. Costs a few bucks but is definitely worth it IMO.

I'm using ProCapture, it's pretty sweet. Many options, I really like the widescreen option for a panaroma shot.
Can I find ProCapture on market?
Camera 360 Ultimate is very full featured.

Pun intended?
Lol but yeh FxCamera is great. I've been using since I had my Hero. I've tried a few others but keep coming back to it for some reason.

it says in free version that "PAID version available which adds access to higher resolutions."
does "higher resolutions" mean here, that higher than the camera resolution like interpolation or, the free version shoots at lower resolution eg. max 2mp may be? app seems nice but this sentence make me think...
I like the amaze cam mod.

Camera Pro is pretty cool. It was the free app of the day on Amazon App Store awhile back

What rom would you recommend for Desire? If I'm looking for:
1. simple: no sense, no extra stuff like facebook, stock widgets and crap.
2. stock Android UI.
3. the faster the better (good SetCPU app support would be great with overclocking and underclocking)
4. with all new 2.2 functions like 720p video capture.
OpenDesire I reckon, find it in Android Development
Will try today, if there wont be any better suggestions.

i second that.
I used OpenDesire for a couple of days and didn't care for it, I'm using a Cyanogenmod nightly (they're now basically release-quality) with a few unwanted APKs removed prior to installation (amazon mp3, facebook, twitter, calculator, live wallpapers, talk, etc) and it's by far the best rom I've tried. I've tried about 5 in all, all but Cyanogen being from this forum.
If you remove unwanted APKs, use extreme caution not to remove things that are part of the OS. For example, I removed the Google Talk APK but not its "provider" IIRC, since the provider actually does a bunch of other things and is in no way safe to remove.
Nothing against the other rom developers, but from my experience, Cyanogenmod is just on a whole different level.

definitely faster, works better with setCPU.. even the UI is more simple and clean it offers more then damn sense! Like these customizable power widgets and stuff that weren't on stock 2.2 OS. thanks
Camera works decent too.. but some options is missing, maybe there is alternative camera app?
What's the name of that widget at the top of the screen in the last picture? Or is that one of the "customizable power widgets" that aren't in Sense Roms or whatever?
Only being able to select 2g and auto on dearest and open desire is a real pain tho
Don't listen to u about putting back all stock profiles to include 3G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the stock camera app on gio is pretty crap, so i tried out an app called CameraZOOM FX, and then I could take some decent pics:

Another cool App
Nice app. If I may have a suggestion, I will recommend also Camera 360. It has a lot of cool features including Tilt&Shift, HDR, retro, Lomo, B&W. I've tried the las update but didn't like so now I'm using the 2.7 version. I'm a freelancer photographer using professional photo gear and I find this app the best for my needs. Here are 2 samples made with Gio & this app
Best wishes 2 everybody!
does the lgcamera pro works now?
I have purchased camera zoom Fx for only 0,20€ in the Play Store, I suggest it!

nice! maby i try this.
thanks! i will tries
i love camera zoom fx. i have buy it at 10cent
is LG CAMERA PRO still working on taking 480p video? i heard that it can do that!
I use Camera360 myself. Works like a charm.
could one of this app work on galaxyics beta 7?
I use CameraZOOM FX and delete the stock app.
Only thing now is i can't use the videorec.
But i dont need the vid. i only need photo cam.
Okay first off.. One of the reasons I bought the one x is its camera.. Burst shots and the uninterrupted snap shots during recording
How ever once I installed the cyanogenmod 10 the camera app was replaced with a new one.. I know its not that of a major issue and I have no issues against the mod (lets be honest, for a preview mod it is very well done).
The question is.. Is there any way to get the stock camera app?
and my I add that the beats audio addon is not working anymore
I am sorry to say that sense camera will work only with sense roms, it is nearly impossible to get it ported (thats what I've heard)

Why miui rom can get that sense camera? I'm noob. But that should be port to cm10 too
I find you can take better pictures with the AOSP camera app than the Sense one.. I dunno if its just me but I seem to get clearer shots. Try to live with it for a bit and you might just get used to it. I've attached a picture I took earlier, I've never been able to get as much detail with a Sense ROM

Could be because sense overcompress the images, cm10 images have noticeably bigger file sizes
uhh what is the difference between aosp and cm10?
@op
No stock camera is only happening for sense roms. Sorry. Try out other camera apps from Play Store if you don't like the default cm10 camera.
@CoSaWa
That is a brilliant snap. CM10 pictures are much bigger in size than Sense Cam pics. In all that compression detail is lost I guess.

This explains the issue quite well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780038
So I looked into all the buzz about the Camera Zoom FX app and the app is quite nice. (For those who think its ****, it was, it looked ugly but a recent update revamped it.)
I played around with stock and camera zoom fx apps and compared pics. The quality seems to be the same and Camera Zoom FX also has hardware support.
I have attached test shots at the end but heres what I concluded.
Use the Stock cam if you wanna take pictures quickly and dont have time. It starts up instantly and the UI is simple.
Use Camera Zoom FX if you have time to mess with the photo after taking it. The app opens slowly. Takes like 3 secs to open. And shooting pics takes around 4 secs cause it zooms after you hit the shutter. Its instant in the stock app.
What do you guys think? What apps do you use. I personally have never used 3rd part cam apps other than stock apps. Camera is a huge deal and thats the only reason why I havent switched to CM10. (If anyone can post comparison via a CM10 rom it'd be nice. I know I can always flash the ROM to check it.)
______________
Those who use Camera Zoom FX for filters. Get Vignette, its wayyy better.
If you use any other app and think its better, list it below too!

I´m using stock camera.
I think its easier to compare these pictures with : http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/156694
I can´t see any difference between those 2 pics.
I use this app a lot, u have to say it produces the highest quality time lapse files of any app that iv tried and iv tried many! The burst feature works great, really like this app, worth the money for sure. I cant tell between the two above photos either.
I use camera360 for instant effects.

Just though I'd share this since it works just fine for me. Just download the .apk and install it like any other app. Now you have the ability to shoot photospheres!

Does this replace the lg camera app? I think quick access to camera from the quick key and dedicated camera button trumps Googles camera app.

Nope. It installs completely separate from the LG app. It also installs the AOSP Gallery app alongside LG's as well.

You can set the Quick Button to call up any app you want. I already switched my Quick Button to open the AOSP Camera app. As far as the dedicated hardware button goes, you can use the volume rocker as the shutter key for the AOSP Camera.

Photospheres are pretty cool. I guess it's just something to play with. I still predominately use the LG camera app.
I guess a better answer would be "because we can!"

LOL!
My boss calls me a negative nancy. I just happen to think photospheres, and Google-stock in general, is overrated.
This is good news because the more apps google they put on the Play store the less fragmentation there will be.
the lg camera app can already do photospheres already. the vr panorama mode...when it backed up the ones i've taken to my google plus account it let me scroll around in it just fine so it appears to be done pretty similarly to the google version of it. i actually prefer the lg gallery app too. lets u resize the thumbnails with simple pinching to make em bigger or smaller and even hide folders from view (some of my ebooks have the cover art stored in the folder too)
