You can't flash radios with CWM. You need Amon Ra for that, which you should just have anyhow.
Be careful and let the flash finish all the way. U don't wanna think that it is frozen and battery pull. Let it do it's thing may take a minute

I've flashed a number of radios using CWM before I made the switch to Amon Ra.
And if I recall correctly the newer radios won't let you downgrade at all. Out of curiosity, why do you want to downgrade your radio? Having the most up to date radio is the best thing to do.
i am trying to flash it back to sprint .. the meid under the battery is good but the esn in the phone is to an incognito bought it on cl and they didnt tell me that so yeahh im kinda screwed outta a phone right now

I am looking for anyone who can help me get my EVO rooted to Amon Ra Revovery. I had to have my old evo replaced that came with the 2.1 software and the new one i have has come with the 2.2 on it. however I try to run it through the Unrevoked root and it errors out. The only time i have been able to get the amon ra 2.2 rooted has been when i first rooted to the unrevoked, then reflashed with the pc36.img and then root to the amon ra 2.2!
Please someone help!!!! I am going to go insane here. the error the unrevoked 2.1 method gives me during the process is. "Error Internal misc" Now I'm not sure if it is missing a file or what i am doing wrong but i just did my girlfriends EVO and it worked just fine. and i am using the same computer with the same files to do it!
ANY ANSWERS OR TIPS?????

Which HBOOT version are you running? Also just FYI Unrevoked 2.1 is NOT the latest version -.- This could be why you are having issues.
If you are on a NON 2.02 HBOOT version, ie: 0.93.000 etc use this:

What hboot version do you have?

Just getting REALLY frustrating. am i going to have to download new files and everything? now another thing to mention might be that i am getting the error screen that has a phone with a phone and a red triangle and exclamation point when i try to tap into the recovery screen from hboot menu.

ANDDDDDD you would find that it will unroot you!
Damn it, NEVER TAKE AN OTA IF YOU VALUE YOUR ROOT!
I understand that it will unroot me no need to yell I flashed unrevoked forever so the nand stays unlocked so technically couldn't I flash a rooted Rom and regain root after flashing amon-ra
Edit: reason I ask is because I can't update my radios with out it breaking my recovery I end up having to flash a pc36img file that flashes the old radios and amon-ra for my recovery to work again

Can no one tell me i have serch and searched and haven't been able to find an answer
First of all, I apologize if this is in the wrong place or has been answered, but to the best of my searching and hours of tinkering and trying, I have found nothing.
I. Just want. CM6 B2 Blue Beast w/Snap v7. I have rooted my evo but it is newer with HBOOT 2.10 Radio 2.15 and 0004 hw version. I rooted it with Unrevoked and did Unrevoked forever, and from what I understand you can't get the ENG bootloader needed for CM6 if you have my hardware.
For the love of god. If anyone can help me I would love you forever.
I have been through a crazy bricking from flashing all kinds of PC36img's and I am mostly adb illiterate but finally got an RUU working and got back to stock and re-rooted.
Please help meeeee!
You try downloading rom manager from the market and use it to flash armon recovery? Then just flash the zips and you are ready to go.

I'm trying to install the old CM6, not CM6.1+
I get the Status 7 error talking about bootloader .76
but yes, I have tried using Rom Manager
EDIT: CMB2 (not CM6, but still not CM6.1+)
Hello. I am in the process of trying to get root back on my evo and would like to ask for confirmation on what I am planning to do before I go down the wrong path.
History- My phone was rooted with Warm 2.2 on it and my speaker went bad. I needed to return it to Sprint for warranty, so needed to go back to stock. Because I wanted to make sure that I had everything backed up properly (especially contacts), I asked a guy to help me get back to stock, which he did. Speaker was replaced and now I am trying to get back to where I was before the speaker went out.
I currently have s-off, but not root. I tried to use UR3, and it wouldn't work because my radio version was not supported.
Firmware- 2.1-update1
h-boot 0.79.0000
radio- 1.39.00.05.31
I have done a ton of research, but with SO much info avail. on xda, I want to make sure I am about to take the right steps.
Here's what I think I need to do:
1- Place PC36IMG.zip of Anon Ra 2.3 recovery on root of SD and then boot into h-boot and let it update.
2- Run UR3 to get root back.
3- nandroid backup
4- place .zip of ROM on root of SD card
5- Boot into recovery and install ROM zip from SD
Does this sound correct? Am I doing any wrong or useless steps? Any additional steps I should be doing? Different order?
Similar but different topic- I love how clean/ stable and functional Warm 2.2 is. Any other similar ROM recommendations?
Thanks in advance for the help- sorry for the extreme noob-ism.
Check for software updates and get to 2.2. Then use Unr3voked to root.
Software updates will probably take hmi to 2.3, which is bad.
You need to run unrevoked, first.
If you don't have the drivers on your computer now, reinstall htc synch, then uninstall it.
THEN flash the Amon Ra PC36IMG.zip to get recovery on there.
I have the drivers. Unrevoked won't work because my radio version Isn't supported. I was thinking the pc36img.zip file would bring me to a version that would be supported by Unrevoked. Is there a better way?

I had to do mine in linux both times I rooted it

It seems to me you would need to get to a place to update the radios. Which would either be NAND unlocked, or into a sense rom and update your firmware and profile?
Maybe this will work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747319

Ok, I've been around evo for a while, rooted it just before the 2.2 ota update. I've got hboot version .76 and haven't had a problem with it until I tried the beats roms. How do I update the hboot for my evo? Should I just update to .97 from calks thread?
Thanks and sorry for the terribly noobish confusion I have
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I would not go higher than 0.97, just in case you want to go back to 0.76 later. Make sure you have a pre-gingerbread radio, 2.15.00.11.19 or below, before you update the Hboot just in case you loose S-OFF. It depends on how the phone was rooted.
Just flash the 0.97 Hboot through recovery, and remember to clear your cache and dalvik-cache (minimum) before you reboot.
Also, If you go back to S-ON, flash the unrevoked-forever tool from the unrevoked website. This will only work with pre-gingerbread radios.
yup, i'm back s-on, looks like I gotta downgrade radios. Thanks for the help! I had been trying with TWRP and had to go back to Amon Ra

No problem; however, you should have downgraded the radio first as I said in the instructions before you updated the Hboot.
In case you get stuck, here is the fastboot driver for your computer and the RUU you may need. Then you can reroot with unrevoked3.

I thanked you twice shortydogg! It's been a while since I've messed with the firmware, and never did the hboot. Thank you very much!
No problem.
