My phone shuts off by itself. It happened twice to me already. It happened only recently. I had my phone for 2 years now.
It always happens when I sleep.
I can't turn it back on via the power button, and I can't turn on bootloader or recovery with the button combos.
I have to remove the battery, then place it back in, then I can turn on my phone normally.
I am running ILWT CM7 with ILWT v1.4.1 kernel.
Please help!
Sounds like a hybernate/fastboot issue, using any of these features?
I don't know what hybernate is, and i am pretty sure I didn't change any settings for fastboot...
I had this issue...but it only happened when the phone was in my pocket. Thought battery was loose, put a piece of paper on top of the battery to keep it tight. That didn't work. Had to do warranty replacement. Be warned if you have t mobile, get ready for the run around from "tech support". Good luck.

Dang. I bought a t-mobile G2 from a guy on craigslist. It was brand new though.
And I'm in Canada...
When you say you're running ILWT 1.4.1 kernel, do you mean 1.5.1?

Sorry I can't help you. Your avatar is too distracting and I cant take my eyes away from it
... OK I managed to avert my eyes.
Are you still using the original battery? These do go bad over time. Two years is about the life of these batteries before they stop being able to hold a decent charge. Might want to get a new one and see if that helps.
Before that, if you are using any overclocking, do some research on these forums to find good settings to prevent wake and sleep problems (I don't overclock so I can't help you there)

Well, I am using the ILWT kernel... and it automatically does the following:
sleep: 245/368, wake: 245/1017, temperature: >=40 245/768, battery: <=25 245/768, charge: 245/1113
It also says it is slightly undervolted...

Bring your minimum up, 245 is *way* too slow; that's most likely what the wake issue is all about.

What's most likely happening is not that your phone is turning off but that the speed is so slow it can't wake up.

Those values are tsubus' defaults, which I also run and haven't experienced anything like convolution described.
So you are also running the ILWT OC Daemon? I'm assuming so because the profiles you posted are in regard to the Daemon not the kernel. I can tell you that the mod of Virtuous OC Daemon (ILWT OC Daemon) is a newer development from tsubus. Perhaps try reflashing the ROM, but use the option in the ILWT.txt to select the Virtuous OC Daemon, rather than the mod. Also, are you using the alpha ILWT tools app to adjust frequencies? The app is also pretty buggy so far... of course OC frequencies can be altered manually in /system/ilwt/ilwt_oc.conf.
I have setcup on as well lol. Maybe I should delete setcpu... and I will try and edit my clockspeed.
Can I delete the daemon and install another one without reinstalling the rom?

Think you have your answer!Lose setcpu then for ILWT CM7 Kernel v1.5.1
http://www.multiupload.com/ZWWV04X6WZ
Or for ILWT CM7 Daemon v1.1.1
http://www.multiupload.com/VN4UN3IJA1
reboot to recovery and flash your choice, must also say am running as is with no problems.
You recommend me flashing both the kernel and daemon?
Argh, I'm limited to 5 thanks per day.

No choose 1 or the other its in the name one is ILWT's based on Virtuous OC_deamon and the other is ILWT based on CM7 kernel.
I don't follow...

Sorry if I was not clear,if you read the first page of the main ILWT thread it may explain better, you choose either the ILWT Kernel OR the OC_deamon.

You don't choose the ILWT kernel or the OC Daemon. There are 3 kernels to choose from including the ILWT kernel (which is a mod of the CM7 kernel), and then there are 2 OC Daemons to choose from... the Virtuous OC Daemon or the ILWT OC Daemon (which is a slight mod of the Virutous OC Daemon).
I'm using the ILWT kernel and the ILWT OC Daemon with great results.
Here is a great explanation from the OP on how to configure your ILWT.txt. I think the easiest way to remedy your problem is to simply reflash the latest ROM (244) after you've properly edited the ILWT.txt and placed it in the ILWT folder which is on the root of your SD card. Just my opinion... keep it simple.
So if I just flashed the IWLT kernel then I assumed that my oc daemon would be IWLT but if I wanted the virtuous based daemon I would have to flash that.

SetCPU issues
I have been having the same issues myself. Mine was set low to 100min/max: screen off just as a test today and it did that to me a on a few seperate occasions. Not sure why, just ended up battery pulling after 10-15 seconds of no response from the phone.
The cpu is set too low on screen off, go for 245 or so
setcpu does not play nice with r phones. i had problems witth it on every kernal i played with. right now im using the mix up kernal. i used setcpu to 1.2ghz max and 100mhz min. conservative governore. i have yet to find a set up to use while the screen is locked with no issues. what i do know is galaxy s phones only like the conservative setting. maybe a 400mhz max 100mhz min with conservastive governore would work?
Make sure setcpu is set to conservative. I set my lowest to 200mhz and max at 1200. No issues here other than sometimes the notification pull down bar is laggy but it does that stock anyway.

The rom don't control the cpu speeds. The kernal does. You cab run any rom kernal combo you would like. In order to hit the 1.4ghz you want you need to run a kernal that is capable of doing so

Is SetCPU really necessary anymore? If you run a kernel that's not locked into performance mode it will scale on it's own even without SetCPU. I haven't installed it on my Epic yet and when monitoring the phone with SystemPanel I see my CPU go down to 200mhz when idle and scale up when processes are running.
Where is the kernel for 1.4? I have baked snack rom max is 1.2 i know kernel is the part that "controlls" speed but I'm stuck. Any help

I just rooted my incredible and I'm using the kernel that came with it stock. I disabled perflock and I left the max speed to 998 and the min speed to 245.
When I'm not doing anything on my incredible, I see that the speed constantly changes from the max to the min. Not even one second passes before it just goes back and forth, back and forth. Is this normal?
Coming from the d1 where it would stay at the min when idle, I'm not sure if what's going on with my incredible is normal.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes that's normal. For better battery life, I'd try a kernel with smartass governor. It spends more time on the lower frequencies.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
Switching to a different kernel will give you the ability to overlook//underfoot the system needed.. this in turn increases battery life.. kingklick, ziggy's, chad's kernel are all well known kernels.. you will want to play with different kernels.. not every kernel will be stable to overlook to certain speeds on certain Rom's.. switching kernels is almost as addictive as switching roms.. always nandroid before flashing anything..
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Typos on my end.. underfoot = undervolt.. overlook = overlook.

Will those kernels work on my rooted stock incredible?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yea! By stock i'm assuming all you did was root. I am currently running SkyRaider 3.5 Sense along with
"2.6.32.26-ubcredujuerbek-12082010 [email protected] #11"
I will edit with links to these two items.
SkyRaider 3.5 Sense - SkyRaider
Chad's Kernel - Incredikernel
My phone runs amazingly fast with sense but yet, even with heavy usage (Texting constantly, on the internet, gmail, even Fring) I can go an easy 24 hours on one charge. If my phone stays screen-off idle I could last at 95%-100% for several hours.
Yes, all I did was root.
Does the chad kernel provide wireless tether and will i still need to disable perflock in setcpu?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
the non stock kernels all disable perflock already, you do not need to do it..
flash the kernel via clockwork, and you are set.. jump into setcpu and adjust some settings and add profiles.. you'll be golden..

Not quite. I believe Lou's has some tweaks within perflock, so disabling it would lose those.
And most kernel devs, particularly Lou and the ones who use HAVS, advise against using SetCPU. I'd check with your chosen kernel thread for details.

Also, I wouldn't 'set on boot', at least till you find frequencies that your phone can handle safely. Otherwise, you'll get a 'crash' loop, where your phone starts up just fine, but once you go past the initial lockscreen it'll crash and reboot. Very annoying...

what rager said... ive put on kernels and ran em high only to get a "boot loop".. its tuff to get out of cause you need to get back into setcpu to scale back otherwise it keep on going.... i learned to put the setcpu app icon on my main screen so i can get there fast to scale back..

Hey guys, I'm running Virtuous Unity 2.39 and I flashed Dres' 21 Kernel (forgive me, I probably just completely botched his name). The problem is, on Rom Toolbox, everytime I switch the governor to smartassv2 and clock it to 1209 MHz, it never stays, even with apply on boot checked. It always reverts back to 1152 MHz and ondemand. Any help?
I believe that is the way it is set up b/c it uses an oc daemon that only stops when using an app that is used specifically for oc or oc/uv such as setcpu if you take a look at the virtuous site it should have more info.

This is true, there's a conflict between Virtuous' OC Daemon and any app that manually adjusts kernel/CPU settings.
I think that if you install one of these though, the OC Daemon is immediately disabled. I have the same issue with ROM Toolbox on my i717 Note, but that's because we don't have a custom kernel as yet
I'm currently using the myOneV RC 6.0fx+ rom and the kiss kernel on my primou but there seems to be no option for it in any of the apps I used. Is there something wrong I did because this kernel definitely supports UV if I'm not mistaken.
Any help is surely appreciated
Use Incredicontrol from the market it's free and gives you the option to UV.
Oh, I will try and use that later, but shouldn't setcpu and voltage control already provide the options?

Check whether you have the daemon (andrev_oc) in system/xbin.
If there is, means that your OC is CPUFreq instead of OCD.
