SetCPU issues
I have been having the same issues myself. Mine was set low to 100min/max: screen off just as a test today and it did that to me a on a few seperate occasions. Not sure why, just ended up battery pulling after 10-15 seconds of no response from the phone.
The cpu is set too low on screen off, go for 245 or so
setcpu does not play nice with r phones. i had problems witth it on every kernal i played with. right now im using the mix up kernal. i used setcpu to 1.2ghz max and 100mhz min. conservative governore. i have yet to find a set up to use while the screen is locked with no issues. what i do know is galaxy s phones only like the conservative setting. maybe a 400mhz max 100mhz min with conservastive governore would work?
Make sure setcpu is set to conservative. I set my lowest to 200mhz and max at 1200. No issues here other than sometimes the notification pull down bar is laggy but it does that stock anyway.

The rom don't control the cpu speeds. The kernal does. You cab run any rom kernal combo you would like. In order to hit the 1.4ghz you want you need to run a kernal that is capable of doing so

Is SetCPU really necessary anymore? If you run a kernel that's not locked into performance mode it will scale on it's own even without SetCPU. I haven't installed it on my Epic yet and when monitoring the phone with SystemPanel I see my CPU go down to 200mhz when idle and scale up when processes are running.
Where is the kernel for 1.4? I have baked snack rom max is 1.2 i know kernel is the part that "controlls" speed but I'm stuck. Any help

Is Daemon controller available as an APK to install outside of roms that have it built in?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
I DL'd it from the market a while ago...
Here is DaemonController
I recommend OC/UV Beater over DC though.
No matter what ROM I use, I can't find it on the market. MIUI, DINC2HD, and a few others.
Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 HD
Posted both DaemonController and OC/UV Beater above.
I get a force close with OV/UV and daemon controller just sets at the loading screen, could be kernel issues? I'm using a new kernel that was just released and its a combo of tiamat and jdkernel I believe.. oh and I'm using miui that was released yesterday..
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
I thought MIUI had it's own oc daemon. I haven't run MIUI in a while, so I don't remember for sure.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
I forgot that miui doesn't allow you to control clocks.
Daemon control is a tad more advanced then what you may need it for. Have you tried setcpu instead?
I only had miui for a little while on my old dinc and it wasn't stable enough for me...

If your getting a blank screen, you more than likely need to follow the instructions here to set up the Daemon controller. I have never been able to get the stand alone apk to actually do the install of the actual daemon controller that is needed for the app to function. Once installed though, it works well.
From what I have read daemon controller is much quicker at reacting to adjust your clock speed than something like setcpu. The way I understood it, it operates at a much lower level in the programming than a typical "app" would and this gets the clock speeds adjusted to where the user defined as fast as possible (as the criteria are filled) where setcpu (the app itself) has to read and register the fact that the screen is on and then tell the CPU clock to adjust.
I hope someone here can enlighten us if I am incorrect and/or expand on this.

This is true. However you need to set up daemon control before installing it which is why people cant use it correctly.
Check out Andrev_OC daemon (quick search) and ensure that the daemon is set up correctly before installing the controller. OC/UV beater works well too.
FWIW it does seem to manage events better - I used to run it on my Xoom and phone...but since Xoom has a ROM which controls the clocks (tiamat) I dont need it anymore.
Im using OC/UV beater on Newts 4.0.2 ROM right now...and its working correctly even thought the ROM is just 'ok'. I am sure if it were on a more 'stock' rom the results would be better.

How is that different than something like the smartass governors or others that are tuned to android sleep states? I guess I just like keeping things simple while running as few things in the background
With the Smartass type governors, the Andrev Daemon isn't really necessarily needed. The Daemon app actually has a bypass when using the Smartass gov or the other governors with the built in sleep min and max values.
If I want to use the Perfomance governor, and then use Conservative or Powersave for the sleep min and max, then I will use the Daemon app to set this.

My phone shuts off by itself. It happened twice to me already. It happened only recently. I had my phone for 2 years now.
It always happens when I sleep.
I can't turn it back on via the power button, and I can't turn on bootloader or recovery with the button combos.
I have to remove the battery, then place it back in, then I can turn on my phone normally.
I am running ILWT CM7 with ILWT v1.4.1 kernel.
Please help!
Sounds like a hybernate/fastboot issue, using any of these features?
I don't know what hybernate is, and i am pretty sure I didn't change any settings for fastboot...
I had this issue...but it only happened when the phone was in my pocket. Thought battery was loose, put a piece of paper on top of the battery to keep it tight. That didn't work. Had to do warranty replacement. Be warned if you have t mobile, get ready for the run around from "tech support". Good luck.

Sorry I can't help you. Your avatar is too distracting and I cant take my eyes away from it
... OK I managed to avert my eyes.
Are you still using the original battery? These do go bad over time. Two years is about the life of these batteries before they stop being able to hold a decent charge. Might want to get a new one and see if that helps.
Before that, if you are using any overclocking, do some research on these forums to find good settings to prevent wake and sleep problems (I don't overclock so I can't help you there)

sleep: 245/368, wake: 245/1017, temperature: >=40 245/768, battery: <=25 245/768, charge: 245/1113
It also says it is slightly undervolted...

Bring your minimum up, 245 is *way* too slow; that's most likely what the wake issue is all about.

What's most likely happening is not that your phone is turning off but that the speed is so slow it can't wake up.

Those values are tsubus' defaults, which I also run and haven't experienced anything like convolution described.
So you are also running the ILWT OC Daemon? I'm assuming so because the profiles you posted are in regard to the Daemon not the kernel. I can tell you that the mod of Virtuous OC Daemon (ILWT OC Daemon) is a newer development from tsubus. Perhaps try reflashing the ROM, but use the option in the ILWT.txt to select the Virtuous OC Daemon, rather than the mod. Also, are you using the alpha ILWT tools app to adjust frequencies? The app is also pretty buggy so far... of course OC frequencies can be altered manually in /system/ilwt/ilwt_oc.conf.
I have setcup on as well lol. Maybe I should delete setcpu... and I will try and edit my clockspeed.
Can I delete the daemon and install another one without reinstalling the rom?

Think you have your answer!Lose setcpu then for ILWT CM7 Kernel v1.5.1
http://www.multiupload.com/ZWWV04X6WZ
Or for ILWT CM7 Daemon v1.1.1
http://www.multiupload.com/VN4UN3IJA1
reboot to recovery and flash your choice, must also say am running as is with no problems.
You recommend me flashing both the kernel and daemon?
Argh, I'm limited to 5 thanks per day.

No choose 1 or the other its in the name one is ILWT's based on Virtuous OC_deamon and the other is ILWT based on CM7 kernel.

Sorry if I was not clear,if you read the first page of the main ILWT thread it may explain better, you choose either the ILWT Kernel OR the OC_deamon.

You don't choose the ILWT kernel or the OC Daemon. There are 3 kernels to choose from including the ILWT kernel (which is a mod of the CM7 kernel), and then there are 2 OC Daemons to choose from... the Virtuous OC Daemon or the ILWT OC Daemon (which is a slight mod of the Virutous OC Daemon).
I'm using the ILWT kernel and the ILWT OC Daemon with great results.
Here is a great explanation from the OP on how to configure your ILWT.txt. I think the easiest way to remedy your problem is to simply reflash the latest ROM (244) after you've properly edited the ILWT.txt and placed it in the ILWT folder which is on the root of your SD card. Just my opinion... keep it simple.
So if I just flashed the IWLT kernel then I assumed that my oc daemon would be IWLT but if I wanted the virtuous based daemon I would have to flash that.
Im running cauklin 2.0.1 with the rogue kernel. I want to over clock 1.6ghz, what steps do I take, or do I need another kernel? Please help
You can either download Setcpu or tegrak off the market place. With my phone running the rogue kernel, I am able to run overclocked at 1700. Phone is amazing but be careful because you can create more work for yourself with the wrong settings.
You can use voltage control and setcpu, I think Tegrak dosnt work with that kernel yet. Also, Caulkin uses gov scripts, which will reset the clock speed on reboot, you will need to either remove the scripts or OC every boot.

I literally just tried it now. Installed Trickstermod, set Max freq to 1.2 Ghz, set on boot, rebooted, and it reset the frequencies back to stock. So no, you can't do it unless it's modified. Also, I remember doing this on my Note 2 and it didn't work on a complete factory stock kernel.

In my attempts while porting the AT&T kernel I noticed the kconfig file has ACPU_CUSTOM_FREQ_SUPPORT set to default as "n" (no). So you will not be able to modify the cpu until I either get the AT&T port booting...or we get source code.
Same goes for the gpu...set to "n" as default.

Hmmmm, strange. I've been using trickster mod for the last several hours and my settings have stuck through two reboots . I enabled the "lock frequencies" option and my max is set to and has not exceeded 1242 MHz. It seems like the file you referenced refers to custom clock speeds. If that is in fact the case then it wouldn't be relevant in this situation since I am not attempting to change the available clock speeds but rather simply change the min and max which seems to be successfully accomplished using trickster mod.
