I really like the CM7 screenshot button in the extended power menu. Is it possible to make a mod to implement this on samsung based roms?
Using the screencapture service you have to hold back and menu and some applications will quit directly so its not so practical...

Is it possible to add a full size menu button much like the search button was added. I tried ICS on an older phone and the menu button seemed to work in even the native apps. I hate the look of the dot one that comes up in stock ics and with the mod to make it appear all the time. Ideal for me would be to make the button layout identical to my droid incredible. So home, menu, back, and search. Hold home down for the app switch. Hold menu for keyboard. Hold search for voice search. This has to be possible somehow since its all software keys now.
hi guys,
On the development page is a really good mod which removes the ugly ICS dot menu button and replace it by long pressing the home button.
I really hate the dot buttton but what I don't like is that with this mod the multitask button is now relocated to long pressing the home button, because I'm very used to the multitask button being on it's original place.
So is there someone who can remove the ICS dot menu button and relocate is to long pressing the home button? (just switch the buttons from the original mod)

Doesn't update 3 give you what you want?

As the subject states, I trying to add a power button in the nav bar. Like the one in AOKP.
I did some research, there are easy ways to add a power button HD2 run CM10
Also there are ways to add a search and menu button for gnex running cm10 but no power button option.
Does anyone know of a way to add power button on a galaxy nexus running cm10?

If that isn't possible yet, I remember being able to reconfigure the nav button on my Nexus S, Is that possible with the galaxy nexus? That way I can use the search button to lock the screen, until someone figures it out.
It's a pretty easy edit if you have the ability to successfully decompile and recompile the systemUI apk. It was an edit that I used to do on my fascinate (search to power) and then to aokp in early versions. I pestered one of the devs enough for them to add power in to rom control .
good day.
I want to take screenshot without using hardware button (vol down+power), for example long press navigation bar or any other on-screen shortcuts.
I have tried AOKP rom but unfortunately the navigation bar doesn't have shorcut to screenshot.
Thanks a lot!

In some ROMs (like AOKP) you can edit the power menu to have a screenshot button.
It's buried in there somewhere, I'm using a stock MMuzzy ROM so I don't have the power to do that.
It's not exactly what you wanted, but you can hold down the power button and then take a screenshot with the button in the menu.

Can any ROM do this without even long pressing the power button?

Not that I know of, however, you can get an app like Screenshot Ultimate to have a button overlay, or even a button sitting static in the status bar.
Here's the trigger list to which you can set.
- Overlay icon which is visible on top of all screens (icon, button or custom icon)
- Shake
- Service icon click
- Audio
- Power connect/disconnect
- Folder listener
- Webserver
- Camera hardware button
- Long click search hardware button
- Custom shortcut
- Widget button
- Button inside the app
- Intent (Tasker support)
- Interval
- Cronjob
use any custom rom with Custom Ring Targets Settings, from there you can set a toggle to take screenshot
Cyanogenmod's navbar shortcuts can do it.
Just as you said, long pressing in the navbar (previous configuration obviously)

Hey there,
I had an camera app (I think it was google camera) in which buttons could be used like in thread title.
That doesn't work anymore. Power button brings my moto g to sleep and zoom buttons take pictures.
Is this a change in the app?
Any recommendations? other app, flashing .zip, etc.......
no one?
In fact, it was a modified AOSP Camera made by Slimroms or someone else, but it does have those settings in the Menu when you press the O button, then the switches, and then the last choice, that'd bring you to a menu in which all those settings will be.

I think I don't have this option. I Have these in Setting:
Resolution & quality
Save location
Advanced
Help & Feedback
can't find anywhere
Then it's the AOSP one then, there's no options like that in the AOSP one...
