Revert Stock - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

My usb port is broken and I need to take it to verizon. Can anyone point out a good guide on how to revert my Inc2 back to stock. I'm running Android 2.3.5 rooted. Or can I just flash rmk's gingersense debloated and take it to the store?

Please tell me you made a nandroid backup of your factory system before you started modding it? If so, just boot into recovery and restore your factory backup. If not, you'll have to find a stock ROM and install it via a barcode scanner or something.
RMK's stock ROM link.

I do have a copy of rmk debloated rom. Back from august or something like that. But that was only after I took S-off. Should I just load that back on and not unroot?

Just find a stock ruu then use dropbox to get it on your phone. Rename then flash.

I just loaded rmk's stock gingerbread on there. It still has s-off though. So I should be good to take it back to the store now right? I tried my friend's charger at work to see if would charge and it wont. On the pc it keeps disconecting, tried 2 different cables. I know the battery is still good. Hopefully they don't make me pay 600 bucks for a new phone.

running 2.2 rooted de-odexed leak...can i flash backward to stock 2.1?

Anybody know if I can do this? I tried out the leaked 2.2 rooted updates. I works fine, but I'd like to go back to the 2.1 stock until the official froyo comes out. And people are able to root properly and the free wifi tether apps work fine. Also the no dial code thing sucks cuz i have better reception at home with verizon prls.
Yes you can providing that you did a nandroid back before you flash the 2.2 Rom. Just boot in to recovery and no a nandroid restore, u should also be able to flash any custom 2.1 Rom. I would do the nandroid restore if u got that option. Good luck.

I go back and forth daily. Doings mods and what not to 2.1 and 2.2. Nandroid is your friend.

Stock Rom

Well Im having problems with my current rom and i would like to go back to the stock rom. Now I went here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685835 and tried the .exe and the zip but none of them work. Im currently using MIUI V 12.3 final. Since that thread is more than 6 months old there has to be some other ways. This is killing me any help would be great.
Do you want to keep root? If not, just run one of the recent ruu's.
If you do want to keep root, just download the sprint lovers rom, and follow the instructions in the thread. It's that simple.
Does anybody use nandroid anymore?
Always nandroid the stock rom after its rooted and has a custom recovery.

Now, this is a simple question, but I'm not going to flame. If you want to UNroot then this is what you want (this is the most current 3.70.651.1 software)

4.53.651.1 install after revolutionary

Anyone else trying to update stock to 4.53.651.1 but it fails to install? If you take the ota after revolutionarys unlock I can not install the update. I believe this is due to the hboot version. Which seems to be how they got around the locking in he first place.
Also where is the ota on the phone? I want to pull it off the phone and try a re ruu and install it again.

Have you checked Development section for the latest stock rom. Also why would you try to do an OTA after rooting. It may take away your root. Just wait it out or try a custom rom that probably has more than the stock 4.53 rom.
You rooted to get away from stock why go back when you now have options better than stock.
Rooted Stock Roms link here
Getting root back isn't a problem. I want a nandroid backup with the.latest. the original reason for me to root wasn't to run a custom Rom. It was to remove the extra bloatware.
But after being in the EVO for a few months now I am going to play with the other roms. I just wanted to see if the most recent update had any changes worth staying on stock.
I will most likely be going to cm7. Since that's what I have on my craptivate.

ok but still why unroot? Just download a rooted version and if you like remove the bloatware. going back to stock you loose options and gain bloat.
Stock rooted is better than Stock non rooted....all day everyday
The issue is your custom recovery, not custom hboot. Sprint OTAs depend on the stock recovery, which in layman's terms is a "fake" recovery. It can't be used by the user but the recovery knows what to do with the OTA packages.
Look around for a PC36IMG.zip of the stock Sprint recovery.img. I saw one the other day in the Dev section.
And the latest OTA is rootable, just to clear that up.

Oh and to answer your where does it download question...I believe in /data/tmp or /data/local/tmp, but i am not 100% sure. It believe it would be in one of the tmp folders for sure though.

Questions with root! Help needed!

So today im going to flash a new rom on my Dinc. It was rooted before but the SD card that was in it is the one here in my tbolt. Can I flash a new rom on the Dinc? Or will it not work? Is it still rooted? How do I find out? I thought I could do a factory wipe on the phone to make it "stock" but my phone still ended up with the old rom. What should I do? I don't want to brick my phone. My gf will be unsing it soon.

If you still have a custom recovery on your phone, it's rooted. In order to return to the stock ROM, you must flash the stock ROM. If you want to go completely back to stock and unroot, then follow the return to stock directions. Here, let me google that for you.

[Q] upgrade without losing root

Good day! My wife has her phone rooted with the stock 4.54 ROM that was in her phone when I rooted it. Has anyone come up with a way to update her phone to the current 4.67 version without losing root?
I know that I can just get a rooted, stock 4.67 ROM and flash it, but that is going to freak her out...starting over, so to speak. I guess like a few others I'm waiting for a rooted 4.67 update for a 4.54 ROM. If anyone knows of anything that can help, it would be great. If I could just let her upgrade and then re-root it using revolutionary, I certainly would.
Thank you for your time.
Only option is to back everything up in titanium backup, mybackup root, ultimate backup pro or something similar flash a stock rooted rom and restore all the apps and data for contacts just sync to Google and SMS use SMS backup/restore from market

You could just do a nandroid, then wipe just cache & dalvik cache (I'd probably wipe boot and system too), then flash one of the stock rooted ROMs. That would preserve all the data, though it might cause some instability. But if it doesn't, you're golden. I might play around with actually putting together a rooted OTA zip, though I personally don't see a need for it. But that's a project for tomorrow.....
Thanks for the input, folks. I guess I'm going to go with the full backup of everything and flash the rooted stock. She'll just have to deal with it.
Have a great day!
Get Titanium or My Backup. She will lose call log and SMS. If this is an issue the get SMS backup. I flash a different ROM atleast twice per week and it is simple with Titanium. It usually puts every app back before I even open titanium. If something is missing you just go in and click restore.

So, per my post above, I was able to put together a rooted version of the OTA, but there are some restrictions on its use, unfortunately. It'll only work if you are currently rooted, and haven't removed any system apps. The OTA looks for each file that needs to be patched and if one is missing, it'll error out.
If you want to try it, let me know. All you have to do is flash it in recovery, actually. It's just like any other zip.
