The leather one look cheap and tacky to me. These cases are nice but they don't seem to cover enough of the phone for me.
They look like the cheap (construction-wise) snap on cases. For $30, just get the Seidio Innocase. It's way better in my opinion.

I didn't want this to be a comparison thread. I simply wanted to point out there are alternative cases out there on the market.
I'm really glad you pointed these out. I used to have a Barely There case on my old iPhone and these look pretty similar to that (I really liked it). I've been waiting for a case like this! Since Case Mate doesn't make any for the Atrix, I might get one of these. The colors aren't great, but I hate cases that snap together...

So can someone explain what exactly this case feels like? I don't REALLY get what a "rubberized satin finish" means... In the past I've used the case-mate barely there cases, which I like because they're not squishy or really rubbery and such. This pure gear case looks solid, but it says it's rubberized so I dunno.

Just got mine. First impression is this thing is nice! One of the thinnest cases/shells I've ever seen. Just went into our QA dept to use a caliper and it only measures .86mm or .034" thick. The texture feels almost exactly like my old G1 did. Doesn't feel like it's going to be a lint magnet either. The grey color is a bit lighter than I was expecting too but not too light. It fits OVER the existing battery cover and fits nice and snug. No give in any direction at all. Overall I like it it so far.
I'll post pictures tonight when I get home.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is basically like a mix of a hard shell and a silicon cover. It's quite flexible, although not flimsy like a silicon cover.... and it's durable.... able to withstand quite a bit and still return to it's original shape. Actually recorded a video of me squeezing the crap out of one such TPU case that i got on eBay because of someone in another thread questioning the quality of the eBay cases.

As for "rubberized satin".... i believe it's basically a quite smooth yet soft feel.... not like a silicon, but not quite like a hard rubber case either. Hard to explain, really. If i had to guess, i'd say it might be similar to the Barely There case, but i'm not sure as i've never used either.

edit: Just ordered the deep plum colored one. Only did ground shipping, as i didn't really feel like paying the same amount for shipping as i did for the case.... so it may be a little while.

I commented on your video earlier but i still love this case. Especially sincr you are able to get a window mount specifically for that case. Thats a BIG plus to me. Its just so damn expensive. 65 bucks for both minus shipping is a bit steep to me.

Thank you raptor! indeed! once you get into the compatible accessories then the price racks up quite fast and will put u in the hole.. but having a mount that fits with a case is a rare thing to see.
Very true but I really want something like an otterbox that will fit my car mount. Seems like this will be the closest thing. I really dig the blue too. Arg i spend too dqmn much on this phone

yes ...im a fan of slick cases..thin cases are the best..yes less protection but cant beat the looks.

because of the silicon body there will be some stretching but the case is actually pretty generous for it..I have a 2000 battery and for what others have stated it will fit the 2100 however itll be a tight fit

I got my hands on the Case-mate barely there recently and wanted to share my thoughts on it. It's a snap on the back case which is made for someone who wants to keep the device as slim as possible, so it won't offer much protection either. It features a matte coating which is comfortable to hold & feel. Ports and cutouts are properly aligned and for the most part, it is what you would expect from Case-Mate.

Yeah there are alternatives out there (such as the Ringke Slim Lite) for much cheaper, but the case itself is well made - only too pricey.

Has anyone used this case? I watched the 3 video reviews that are currently on YouTube but they didn't tell me much. I purchased Case-Mate Phantom case.
However like review from olis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk3SpvJ54ko) the buttons doesn't work properly and it hard to press.

Review/Opinions on the Galaxy S III Case Mate Phantom.
Okay so I got the case. I'm Just going to list my thoughts so it's easy to read. I'll skip most of the stuff you have already seen on the videos.
- Upper lip of the case is very shallow, but case-mate countered this by adding a foam material over the top portion of the phone. (I have a skin on the phone, the lip was the same height with or without it)
- Buttons are OKAY. Not as bad as people make it seem. Yeah you need to apply some force, but its not even close to a deal breaker.
- Feels GREAT in your hands!
- The rubber covers for the USB & 3.5mm jack are both warped a bit. Not a deal breaker, but if you are spending 50 bucks for this case... it will bother you a little.
- I noticed a slight increase in glare from the screen protector
- looks and feels very sexy, makes you forget about the slight bulk of the case.
- Feels rock solid and sturdy. You really do feel like your phone is safe in this case.
- Due to the average amount of bulk that this case adds, I found myself using the phone more with two hands rather than one.
- If you have a skin over your phone, you can use it with this case as well. I covered the area of the phone around the front facing camera since it's exposed with this case. Just in case some sand particles fall in there.
A note on purchasing this case: I got mine on Amazon for just under 40 bucks and free shipping. It was also the one WITH the holster. There are also promo codes you can search up and enter which drop the price of the case on case-mate's website. Shop around. $50 bucks is a lot to spend on a case.
