Trident Kraken AMS REVIEW - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys
Sorry for the delay on posting this video but I was out of town for a while but here it is.
The Kraken is a great alternative for the phone..The versatility of it is its strong point. The fact that you can go from a very thin case to a very thick and protective makes it different
Hope you enjoy it

I commented on your video earlier but i still love this case. Especially sincr you are able to get a window mount specifically for that case. Thats a BIG plus to me. Its just so damn expensive. 65 bucks for both minus shipping is a bit steep to me.

Thank you raptor! indeed! once you get into the compatible accessories then the price racks up quite fast and will put u in the hole.. but having a mount that fits with a case is a rare thing to see.

Very true but I really want something like an otterbox that will fit my car mount. Seems like this will be the closest thing. I really dig the blue too. Arg i spend too dqmn much on this phone
I really like versitility of the case too. The accessories make this a unique and innovative case. Get me a review of the car mount and its durability and ill seriously consider

Thanks for the review. Very high quality case, but too bulky for me. I would like to see how the Trident Aegis case measures up to this one.

Hi Raul, sorry I didn't catch what you said around 1:25, does this fit the LTE extended battery? I mean the OEM 2100 mah version. Thanks!

because of the silicon body there will be some stretching but the case is actually pretty generous for it..I have a 2000 battery and for what others have stated it will fit the 2100 however itll be a tight fit

How does the feel of this screen protector compare to the bare screen or the XO and Ghost Armor screen protectors?

Upcoming from Incipio

I don't know if any of you are familiar with products from Incipio. I have an Incipio NGP case on my zune hd and I love it. Incipio makes products for smartphones and kindles as well. I emailed them and they said they are working on the edge and feather cases for the Evo. Don't know when they will be raft but I think soon. I get my Evo next month and I need a decent case for it without find too much bulk. Are there any cases mage to fit with the extended battery installed?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Although you may get a level 90 or so mage to cast a protection spell over your phone, no cases are available (yet?) that fit the extended battery back. Many have gotten cheap silicone cases and cut them to fit better than nothing- at least you'd have protection around the edges of the phone.
I see that Incipio has just released their feather case for the Evo. If I didn't have the 3500mah battery installed I would pick one up they are nice cases.
Well since I have an 1800mah battery coming to be tested I may take the plunge and pick up one of the feather cases. If so, I will try to take picts and do a review.

Id be very interested to see how it compares to the Casemate barely there. While it fits great, it doesnt come up enough on the sides to protect the screen when laid face down. If the Incipio does, I will buy one. I dont use a screen protector and have never had an issue, but I like that piece of mind. My evo is currently naked.

I have the casemate barely there and I love it, it really feels like there is no case on there at all. I do know what you mean though, it provides ZERO protection for the front. From the pictures the Incipio looks like it wraps around the front. I ordered one earlier today, I'll post a comparison when I get it.
I believe it does wrap around but I am not positive on that. I was kind of hoping that they would release the NGP case for the Evo but they didn't.

Thank you. Im looking forward to the direct comparison. I ended up returning my barely there case, but it really is a good one. My girlfriend kept hers, since she uses a screen protector anyway.

[Q] Case mate pop or sgp hybrid?

Hi,
I am about to buy one of the above cases and I would like the opinions of those who have them. The plus and the minus of each of these cases.
Thank you in advance
Good post! I am picking between the two as well.. I am leaning towards the Case-Mate Pop out case because of the stand and how useful it is since I video chat with google talk often and being able to set it on the table and watch a movie or chat sounds great.

I just bought a case mate pop. Looks good and will def provide protection but too bulky in my opinion. And i didn't get a free screen protector!!!
I'm using SGP hybrid for several weeks now, very happy with it.
One thing u should know about it is that curved headphones is problematic with it and some micro usb connectors might not fit the case (but will do fine after some shaving ).
Can't comment about the case mate.
I was actually picking between the Case-Mate TOUGH series and the POP...
I went with the POP after deciding between the two, and it was because I liked the idea that you could set it down as a stand - for me it'll save having a cradle and at night like Im used to my blackberry having a large clock and I kind of wanted that feel.
But when it gets here I can vouch for its quality. Right now, im playing the waiting game...

I also bought the case mate pop but also find it a little bulky. I passed my phone to a work mate the next day and he dropped it from a few feet and it didn't damage the phone whatsoever. So I do like it and I like the kickstand. But I am thinking of getting the Barely there case for when I want to travel lighter with less bulk. I always tend to get a handful of cases until I find something perfect
I was looking at both of these cases myself last month. I ended up buying both to try them out.
The Neo Hybrid is nice, looks good and is very form fitting. Bought in Red.
I settled on the Case Mate Pop case, in White. It has a bit more bulk. My biggest fear is to drop the phone and for it to land face down and break the display. The Pop case has more material around the edges of the phone so if it does fall face down there will be a larger gap between the display and the pavement(a mm or less, probably). The Pop case is a little harder to remove as well but I think it protects more. My .02¢.

Surely sounds like 2x10^22 Yokto Cents to me.
Just had the Case-mate Pop! delivered today (white and grey). It's very well made and looks and feels excellent (even the girlfriend said so), and although it adds a fair bit of bulk, it does seem to protect the phone quite well. All sockets/holes etc seem to have plenty of clearance so access to them and sound coming out shouldn't be an issue. Very nice case, especially since Amazon UK were doing it for ~£17 instead of the usual £25.
Case mate pop + 2000 mah battery and cover
Does anyone have both the case mate pop and samsung 2000 mah battery? I would like to know if they fit. Thank you!
i personally don't like neo hybrid. the silicone is thin and the plastic is flimsy and can be easily deformed

Super Slim Cases

Just stumbled accross this over at Amazon/Play.
Imperial Hard Case Super Slim Black
Looks like a decent enough case, protects the back mainly, and looks very thin

STK Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 TPU Case / Black
Not sure about this one, resembles the Neo Hybrid in a way, just doesn't have sperate layers.
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/23551468/-/Product.html
Think im gunna take a gamble on the Italk one. Thin around the back, has holes in all the correct places. Looks like ir protects the phone when its turned over.
For £4.96 you can't go wrong really!
It's hard to tell from the photos whether it really does protect the front of the phone (when you place it face down). I'd be interested in what you find!
Yeah, i know what you mean. To be fair. I nver plce my phone screen way down anyway!
Came this morning, Looks promising.
Will upload pics etc in few hours
First impressions are its very nice and slim!
Cant hardly tell its there!
Pros
Slim
Feels nice
Doesn't look cheap
Gives sight screen potection (I mean slight, 1mm tops)
Cons
Doesn't give much protection to Camera
Buttons on side could irritate some people.
To be fair, i wanted a slim case, which this is. I dont intend to launch my phone around, i always place it down back first.
Ill try and add some pics of the phone in the case soon.
Shots of the phone in the case.
I apologise in advance, The worst digital camera i've ever seen used in my life!
Gives you a rough idea, if your sat here now thinking, should I, Shouldn't I buy one. Go ahead and do it! You won't be dissapointed for £4.95
Also available on eBay for about £3
Feels rather weird having this case on, been use to thickness and the lip over on the Neo Hybrid!
How's the grip with this case?
Yeah, its alright, feels nice in the hand.
Honestly its a really nice case for £4.95, or £3 on ebay.
You wont be dissapointed!

SEIDIO Active Case Review w Pics

This is my review of my new Seidio Active Case. I own a Ballistic, D3O and now this. It is not bulky & does add much thickness. It is 2 pieces, similar to Ballistic - inside silicone and hard plastic shell. The silicone is smooth similar to the D3O but unlike Ballistic. It isn't the same material as D3O so it does pick up some lint but easily wipes off. It has a kickstand that seems pretty durable. The smooth silicone is easy to slide in & out of pants pockets (doesn't get hung up). It does not make screen protectors bubble - if you see the bubbling at the bottom it is from my D3O case use and wont go away...
Overall, this will be my daily case. I am very happy with it and it looks slick! I will be happy to answer any questions. Added pics below....
Thanks for the review, really like that back stand.
I just picked up this case and already love it. It really isn't any more noticeably bulky than the TPO or Insignia case I used before, yet my phone feels more protected and fits like a glove, unlike the other two that weren't quite as form fitting as I would like. The kickstand is just an awesome bonus.
So far, definitely the best case I've used for this phone.
Same case, same opinion here. Awesome, not too bulky. I'd prefer naked, but I run a Distribution Warehouse, and use my phone at work. Taking falls into concrete is bad for phones.
Any good deals on this case?
I have the blue one, it really is a nice case and pretty sturdy.

Blue Seidio
Great review. I bought the Seidio Active case after my black and white D30 developed cracks for no apparent reason (it had never been dropped) Luckily TMO let me return it.
I bought the Seidio Active Combo (Blue) with holster of Amazon for 40.00 Shipped. I like the case because it is easy to remove so you can swap batteries. A little thicker than the D30 but not as thick as many other cases. Buttons and port openings line up perfectly. It does attract a little dust or pocket lint. Some early reviews spoke of an echo with the speakerphone. It did not do that on mine.
The Sapphire Blue is a metallic type color that seems to change a bit under different kinds of light. The pics I've seen did not do justice to the blue finish. I just want to find a paint like this for my scooter.

Seidio Active case kickstand
Love the case and like you said it looks slick. Just have one question. from pictures I have seen the kickstand looks as though it protrudes from the back of the phone. Does this cause the phone to not sit flat when you set it on it's back? Do you get a rocking affect if you were to try to type with the phone flat on it's back?

It does cause a slight slant but the rocking effect is minimal and only when you are pressing the very bottom of the screen. To be honest, I never even realized this until testing for you... If I press the screen anywhere above the bottom 1/4 of the phone there is no rocking. Hope this helps!
That is awesome to know. Honestly that was my only reservation about getting this case. I love the look of it and doesn't seem to add much bulk to the case. Thanks for following up on this, now I can order one!

Happy to help. This is by far my fav out of d3o, ballistic and this one. It is a great fit and the stand closes firmly to the case. The stand is awesome! I'm sure you will love it. Post what you think when you get it.
Going to order later on tonight so I will definitely let you know! Thanks again....
this is by far the best t989 case available, however would be nice if they would make the surface case for the t989 version. its a solid hard case that adds very lil bulk and more protection, its also very easy to remove. i had it for my sensation and would love it for this one. but seidio seemed to leave the t989 out on it bc its available on all other sg2 models except ours.
My damn kickstand always made a very noticeable click when I would use it but today it broke off. Sent email to Seidio waiting to here back from them. If they can send me a new kickstand I think I can fix it.
The weak link on a great case.

I just ordered the blue case with holster last week, still waiting for it to arrive in the mail as well.
In the pictures the kickstand works very well when the phone is sideways (landscape). Are you able to use the kickstand and have the phone stand upright?

I heard from Seidio they can't just send me a new kickstand the only recourse is a complete exchange. Had to return to Amazon. For that kind of money they should be higher quality. Time to start over. I'm not sure what case to get. Any opinions would be appreciated

Nexus 7 FHD "Armor" case

I managed to find a slightly otterbox like case for the FLO. Here is the link for the case. I will be able to do a hands on review tomorrow after i pick it up from my apartment.
I did not see any threads about this case. If anyone has information about the durability, drop protection, etc, of the case, please share. Ill give an update with my hands on review included, after i finish the review. In the mean time, hopefully someone else has their own take on this case.
I dont expect it will be an Otterbox replacement. Hopefully it does offer some level of protection against accidental handling mishaps.

Certainly hope so because boy is this thing fugly YMMV, obviously
come on..I dnt believe that it would be good enough to compete with otterbox....as I just saw that case on ebay...its not good in look....yes its FUGLY....otterbox would be much better choice than this rugged one....but Its just a perception rest you can judge the exact..as it will be in your hands !!!...do post some pics of case with your N7(2013) too....
There is a Gumdrop Drop Tech case for Nexus 7 2 on their official website, sorry cant post a link.

As far as i know, there has yet to be an otterbox for the FLO. I had to wait about a month and a half into my ownsership of the FLO to find a case that is remotely "armor" like. The purpose of the case isnt to replace an otterbox, it is to hold me over UNTIL otterbox makes one for the FLO.
The gumdrop case looks nice, but the ribbing on the back would get on my nerves fast. Ill deal with what i have until an otterbox comes out.
It seems that Otterbox took the N7 2012 case off their website. The page it used to be on gives me a 404 type error.
Did you try this Poetic case ? http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-REVOLUTION-Android-Manufacturer-Warranty/dp/B00E7FY8P2

I have that Poetic for my N7LTE and it rocks. I was somewhat worried about quality after purchasing a poetic for my wife's N7 (2012) however the 2013 version is great. It is definitely on par with otterbox cases.
Here is the review i promised. I did not get back to my place until today, so the review was delayed.
The case is very bulky and cumbersome. There is no space between the edge of the screen, and the inner part of the case' bezel. Both ports, as well as the microhpone, are uncovered. This could have been a decent case if it was not 3/4 inches thick and rather slippery when wet with skin oil or liquid. This case DOES NOT come with any sort of screen protector. The only redeeming quality about this case is its bulk makes driving games much easier when using the sensors to steer.
Here is the front view
Here is therear/side view
Overall id say its a 3-4/10. It has an almost 1/4 inch thick rubber outer shell over a pretty thin plastic one. It is no otterbox, but it might take a drop or two before it falters.
