problem connecting the phone to the computer - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm trying to connect my arc to my computer but it doesn't work.
The computer search for the driver but it couldn't find it.
Is there any suggestion?
Thanks.

You need the correct drivers.
I probably downloaded them from SE site, but i cannot reproduce the link for you so i've attached them.

Thanks for the drivers but could you tell me where to copy them.
Thanks.

when your PC ask for drivers instal manualy, browse him to the folder, and he will continue

Installing ADB files

Hey! I'm not completely new at this, I have a little knowledge as regards to rooting and and tweaking different things. But I'm having an issue that I just don't understand how to fix, and I can't find any help on google. So I came here.
BTW, I have Windows XP 32bit.
I'm trying to install the ADB files so the computer can recognize the phone. Before Ive done anything(nothing installed or changed), I can plug my phone into the computer and the phone gives me the option to charge, sync, use as disc drive, or internet sharing. So, I don't know if maybe thats all I need.
I downloaded the adb files for windows from here http:/ /htcevohacks . com/htc-evo-hacks/how-to-install-android-sdk-and-adb-drivers-for-htc-evo-4g/. I hope its not a vista/win 7 file...
I installed the correct "SDK platform Android 2.1 AP17" and "usb driver revision 3" as the instructions read. I shut the phone off and boot into recovery mode, and then plug the USB in. Nothing happens. Nothing on the computer or the phone change. I don't find any "ADB" in the device manager, and no window pops up asking about updating drivers. I do exactly as the instructions on that site say, but nothing happens.
If the phone is on normally and in "Debugging Mode", I can plug the phone in and the Device Manager shows the "ADB". Also, the window pops up to ask about updating drivers. So I've tried going through both; I specify a location, which for me is c:\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver. It searches for a few seconds, and then says it cant find the right driver for my device.
I really want to start doing some things with this phone, but im stuck! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
read this whole thread
that should help. hopefully
and I think I've just recently read that its not really necessary to install the adb files?

HTC sync drivers

Hey all, I am trying to install the HTC sync drivers on my pc at work so I can charge my phone via USB. I can't install exe's as it is blocked. I am hoping to see if I can manually install the drivers but I can't seem to find the drivers on my current pc.
Does anyone know the names of the files in the system32 folder?

Drivers?
Seems like you are missing the HTC drivers. Did you install them?
Download HTC sync, and install it. Connect the phone in fast boot mode. On your computer, go to "c: programs /HTC and take the driver that HTC sync installed and copy the folder on the desktop. Then go to device manager, there will be an unknown device (like Android 1.0),right click on it, do proprieties, update driver and locate the driver folder on your desktop. Done
lol you don't have drivers
install it from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217397

I installed the drivers once. Everytime I connect the phone via USB to my PC it offers me to install the drivers again (as if I didn't do it the first time).
Howerver, I can access the phone data via the Windows Explorer, I can't see it in Total Commander, though... (I haven't changed any settings).
Try to unplug the phone, restart it, restart your PC, disable any antivirus programs, plug the phone to the PC and open the setup.exe as an Administrator.

USB Drivers?

Hey guys,
I'm facing a problem: my W10 PC won't install the phone's usb drivers at all. It stay with the yellow sign and can't find the drivers anywhere - not even through Win Update.
I searched for them everywhere I could and without any positive results.
Do you know or have the USB drivers for this phone so I can install them manually?
On my laptop, there are no problems and I tried exporting all the drivers installed on the laptop and load them onto the PC but didn't find any driver so the PC could extract them. I can't access my internals on my PC cause of this.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Solved: Apparently, Windows 10 Home Ed. is not capable of installing any kind of USB drivers (MPT, file transfer, fastboot, USB-debugging - nothing worked) for the device but re-installing with the Windows 10 Pro version, the phone got detected instantly and fully without any problems. Razer CC wasn't helpful at all, this time.
