Hi guys,
having some issues connecting to a router that has WEP encryption.
It works with my Samsung Galaxy S, other phones and several laptops.
I have also restarted the router.....
Any solutions for me to try?
Thanks.
Does your phone actually find the router or does it say that your connected to it when your not? Could you please explain a little bit more?
Ah it sees it but remains on "connecting" and then loops that.
Never says password is incorrect or anything else.
I can connect to my own home router thats on WPA straight away without any issues....
Also the password is correct.....
Thanks

Hey all,
I searched but couldnt find the same issue for the touch pro 2/ tilt 2, not sure if anyone has any ideas.
So every time I try to connect to ANY wifi, my phone goes through the attempting connect phase and drops the connection then says the connection is unavailable, refreshs the networks and shows the same connection is available.
Does anyone on have any ideas?
Thanks,
JC
on your browser on your computer, enter your ip address and then log in as admin and turn of G in your connection
Hey, yeah no sure if its a setting on the router as i can't connect to other routers. and i was able to connect before.
Either way what do u mean by turn off G, what is G?

I really dont know much, but that was the problem on my device, when it was stock it worked well but then i put custom roms, it wouldnt connect so i was told to turn of G in the router setting and it worked, can you access as admin on the router?
go to advance settings and switch it from work to internet
Ok i figured it out...very funny one, kinda, I have network filter set on the router and mistyped the mac address of the tilt, fixed the address and it worked fine
Thanks guys
lol user error
Hi all,
I have done a search for this but cannot find someone with my exact problem so have given up and post my first thread. Still slightly a noob to this, however I cannot connect to my home WiFi. It gets stuck in a loop trying to receive a IP from the router, basically I can see the router but that is it.
My phone is running clockwork mod and a stable version of Cyanogen Mod 7.1. The router is a Belkin wireless N.
I have tried using a static IP on the phone, adding MAC address to router (90% sure both those details was input correctly) Adding the Wifi network manually to phone. I have tried connecting on to other WiFi's, have only managed to connected to half of the ones I have tried. It worked at the hotel I was staying at for work and my uncle's home network, but will not work at my uncle's work network or mine.
I don't think I have left anything out.
Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance

Are any of the networks you're trying to connect to use any security?
Also, run alogcat; maybe that will show where the errors are.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yea, my uncle's home, work and my router use WPA/WPA2, cant remember the hotels one but I would imagine it would be the same. Oh also tried my router without security and it's still the same.
OK, doing a logcat now, but what do I do then? just looks like tons of code. Does it just loop over and over again?
Are there any known issues between android and belkin routers? as I have just remembered that my cousins android tablet and his Samsung S2 phone wont connect either and they are are not modified in anyway(rooted or custom roms)
I've done some searching, googling and posting but wanted to see if this is my isolated defective Note2 or other people have this problem.
I am on a rooted Note2 using the Toolkit after getting my phone yesterday
I cannot connect to a hidden SSID with a netgeare router.
The phone connects fine but when I turn off the SSID broadcast it says "not in range" right before my eyes.
Just wondering if anyone else with a Sprint phone has this issue. I've seen it mention with a few other android models but not here yet.
Normally that's an issue with your device not being compatible with the router.
In your case, this doesn't hold true. You probably need to manually enter your SSID and passphrase with your router not broadcasting. It's just a quirk that happens sometimes when you setup WiFi and shut off broadcasting.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I messed around with Sprint Optimization and Wifi Locations settings while trying to get Wireless Tethering to work and tried connecting again.
It seems to work now.
Thanks:good:
Hello everyone, I'm asking this because I can't really find anything related trough the forums. I'm using a wireless router to share my university connection, and it requires a VPN username and password for autentication. I configured the VPN on my Galaxy W, and it works fine for the first 2 minutes, and then stops receiving data, and I have to manually disconnect from the vpn, turn off wi-fi and then make the exactly opposite for it to start working again. I don't know what is wrong, because I have configured my flatmate's android devices exactly the same way and they can connect to the same wireless network for as long as they want.
I have tried CM9 and CM10 to see if it would make any difference, but the same thing happens.
If anyone using a VPN to connect to the internet could give me some advice I would really appreciate it.
Cheers.

I have loved my M8 so far but yesterday it stopped connecting to my WEP encrypted home network. I have tried re-setting up on the phone and also restarted my router etc. My phone sees the network but does not seem to get an IP address.
Connecting to other wireless networks at work goes through fine, it's just at home that I have the issue, any help appreciated!
