I have been experiencing issues on two separate ROMs
1.) [ROM] Synergy - [RLS1+GodMode 08/05/2011] - Now With Warm Sprinkles
2.) [ROM] - [MikRoms] - [10/17/2011] - MikG v2.57 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
on both, when i use the calendar or agenda widgets/app i force close SENSE.
more specifically, i do have the widgets for both the calendar and agenda on my screens. the widgets do not cause a FC unless i interact with them. if i click on any specific day in the calender or specific event in my agenda i get a FC of SENSE, but not until after pressing the home button or otherwise leave the calendar app. i can successfully add or edit events while in the app. it is when i close or go home that i get the FC message.
if i do have a reminder for something and the reminder goes off i get a FC of SENSE as well.
has anyone experienced this and or knows how to fix it? i find it interesting that it does the exact same thing on two ROMS.
anyone have any ideas?
Are you restoring system data when flashing a new rom? If so, flash the rom again but don't restore any system apps/data. User apps should be fine.
Also be sure that you're wiping fully before flashing. If system data gets carried over from another rom, it can cause force closes. Alternatively, if you have removed any system apps it could also cause issues.
Since it has happened across roms, I'm assuming that the normal quick fixes won't work, but they can't hurt. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache. While in recovery, go ahead and fix permissions - select other, then "fix apk uid mismatches" (assuming that you're using Amon Ra). You should've wiped caches between flashes, and flashing should've set your permissions properly, but it can't hurt.

My solution
I had this issue... everytime I opened the calendar day view - Sense would FC. For me the solution was to: remove the exchange account, clear calendar data, add the account back and re-sync data. Here are the steps:
Toggle off sync
Remove the exchange account:
*note: sometimes just clearing the calendar data w/o removing the account is enough to fix sync problems, but in this case I had to do both.
Settings > Accounts & sync > Exchange ActiveSync > "Remove account"
Clear calendar data:
From settings > applications > manage applications > All >
Go to: Calendar --> "clear data"
Go to: Calendar Storage --> "clear data"
If you have removed the account, add it back in.
Toggle sync on again
i did wipe everything between ROMS three times to make sure everything was clean.
i will trey your recommendations and let you know how things work.
No Go, i tried all the suggestions and the calendar still FC's
I'm getting this exact same problem

Hopefully this is something thats simple to fix?!
I've just updated my Leedroid ROM to the latest one.
I made a batch Titanium Backup of "All User Apps and System Data" before I updated. I then wiped the device and installed the new ROM.
Once I'd ran through the basic setup, I went back into Titanium Backup and did a restore... which set my desktop back to what it was and put back all my text messages etc - and all my apps.
When I open the HTC Mail app, I just get the "choose a mail provider" screen where I can add an exchange or other type of account.
If I try to add an account (i have a hotmail and a btinternet account) it tells me the account already exists.
How do I get rid of these accounts so that I can start again?
Hopefully its something easy and I don't have to reflash?
Figured it out....
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > HTC Mail > Clear Data
Every time I reboot, the initial start of Sense it FCs.
It does restart and then run normally, but I'm wondering
what is causing the problem?
What might cause a force close on sense at boot time? My environment is
listed in my signature -- I'm also using outlook (virus checker) if it matters.
How can I address it. would reloading / reinstalling my rom (virtuous 3.2)
help ?
Can I save my PIM data and wipe and reload it? I need to preserve calendar
(phone) a phone contacts. I do NOT sync to google. Would My Backup Pro
do for that? Would that save my contact groups?
I was thinking maybe there is something in system data that was crashing sense?
so a reset / rebuild would help?
Thanks
I use my backup pro and it'll sync apps and ddata contacts calanders basically everything but it never worked with dictionary for me. Reloading the rom may help and you can reload it without wiping since its the same rom as before.

Have you tried fixing permissions in Rom Manager? That might solve your problem. If not I would say backup everything that you want, and then wipe everything and then reinstall the rom.
My guess is something is sitting in Sense data corrupting your sense UI.
Go into Settings > Applications > Running and locate HTC Sense (might be 2) and clear data.
This will cause you to have to redo all your home screens but you will not lose your data and will not have to redo e-mail etc.
I was thinking the same thing
although, would that account for it working the second time it tries to run?
that is, it FCs on initial start. but when it tries to run again, it appears
to work and the home screens come up.
the data is in /data or /data/data right? so if I make a nandroid
backup, I could return to where I am now?

Yes, do a nand backup however, the way you clear it is
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Running > then click on HTC Sense (the larger one) and clear data.
No need to go into /data/ at all
Hi,
I have been flashing custom ROMs and updates for a while now but I have a question that I can't find an answer to:
Sometimes when I perform a full wipe in recovery, after I flash the new ROM it retains the wallpaper and some settings (wifi networks, for example) from the previous installation.
When wiping, I have used every available wipe parameter - I have tried this in Clockwork 2.5.0.7 and in Amon-RA v2.0.0.
The phone is S-OFF, I've even done a 'fastboot erase system' after the wipe but it still doesn't clear everything.
Can anyone please explain to me why?
Thanks.
I find that happens to me too too, and I reckon it's got something to do with your google account automatically backing up and restoring that content when you sync it to your gmail account..

Isn't that typical - I post a question and then I find this on a website.
"Just logging into a phone and waiting a few minutes will get your settings back to normal. This is controlled by the same privacy checkbox as the app restore functionality. The data you can expect to magically reappear includes Wi-Fi networks, privacy settings, accessibility options, wallpaper and search settings."
Seems you are right - thanks!
I have a GN2 with the latest ARHD (12.0) installed. Just noticed that it will not sync to Google, I always get the message "sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly"
Except that it never does.
As a result I can't sync contacts, Chrome settings, and can't even log in to Google+ on the GN2. I don't know how long this has been happening.
Yet on my Galaxy Nexus I never have a problem with the same account. Google syncs every time. So it's not a Google-side problem, but a phone-side problem. . Does anyone know how I can fix this, short of a factory reset? (a factory reset would mean setting everything up from scratch, since nothing has been synced or saved).
I wouldn't recommend factory reset but if it comes to it then there are numerous other apps to backup your stuff.

This usually happen when contact storage or calendar storage file corrupted.
follow these steps
- make sure ALL your contact and calendar are already on Google account or you will lose all these data during this process.-
1. go to clear data of "Contact", "Contact Storage Data", "Calendar" "Calendar Storage Data" in "application manager"
2. remove your google account in your phone.
3. reboot your phone(require) or reboot to recovery do cache and dalvik cache wipe(optional)
4. add back your google account in your Galaxy Note 2.
5. wait your phone sync your cloud data back in your phone.
Done.
This has 99% chance to solve your problem.
I've just lost ALL of my calendar events.
My phone was not setup to automatically sync so I manually synced yesterday in order to back it up.
As it had been a while since the last time, Android told me that there were too many deleted items. I followed a fix I found online, (Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Calendar Storage > Clear data) and then seconds later was prompted with a system message about deleting these items too, which I did.
I've now gone to my calendar on my phone, and ALL events are gone. Is it at all possible to restore my calendar? I use it for everything and will now miss important events if I can't get them back.
I've tried Spanning's Undelete but that only seems to work for individual, manually deleted items. Can I recover the cleared data in a similar way to undeleting a file on a PC?
