Working 100% - Enable AdHoc Networking htc Incredible 2 VIVOW - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I don't Know if here is the right place to Post this , i noticed that a lot of Roms don't see AdHoc connections ( Usually through a laptop ), But i Found a Fix in this link working 100% tested ( Please Note that my Phone is S-off and Rooted ) , i don't know if Non Rooted devices should Apply this or Not . i am running Ginger Bread 2.3.4 with sense 3.0 Patch
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056727 , thanks for LeeDroid .
the link for the Patch is ( DHD_Ad-hoc.zip )
http://leedroid.ftp.rshost.eu/DHD-Addons/DHD_Ad-hoc.zip
Update
i have updated the Patch ,the Updated Patch is in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416146
There are two types of WiFi Networks :
Infrastructure ( Hotspot ) WPA,WPA2-PSK which is the most secured connection , usually routers broadcast this and some carriers ( Verizon i think ) , Almost all Sense Roms wifi use ( Hotspot ) WiFi
Ad-hoc it is either WEP or open network which is less security , usually issued through a laptop connected to a DSL line to broadcast a temporary WiFi connection
Android does not show this Ad-hoc networks ( it Finds them in the search , but filters them out of the shown results ) , this patch prevent that filtering and shows those ad-hoc networks
it worked for my htc Incredible 2 VIVOW , hope some one will benifit from it
Please Press thanks if you find that Post Useful

Very nice, and ide say you posted in the right place. Nice find!

There are different types of wifi networks, two types are Adhoc and Infrastructure.
Most ROMs only see infrastructure, this fix allows you to connect to an adhoc wifi network from your phone.
If you dont know what the difference between the two are, google is a great way to find out.

is it work on incredible 2 stock rom ? 2.3.4 and what is the name of rom you flash on your device ?

Will this work on the Aosp roms as well?

Yeah it work. it did find my ad hoc network but i don't understand why my phone doesn't obtain ip address from the network

HTC Desire cannot find Wi-Fi Network

Myself and a workmate have A HTC Desire and Wildfire.
We have a free browsing unprotected wifi network in our admin building and we are unable to find it on our 2 new Telstra branded phones.
We noth had different windows based phones previously which still connect fine. There is also users of iphones and nokia phones that are still using the network.
But neither of us are able to see it. a different security enabled network shows up (which has previously).
I dont think its the routers as the security enable network I can see is fed from the exact same style modem/router that i'm trying to connect to!
This is a super pain as we are to rely on this network to DL any Apps.
Cheers
Timmy
I have gotten some info from another forum that said that the Disire will not see any channels 12-14. Can any one confirm. Is there a way I get an app or something to get around it as I cant change the router channel

Intermittent wifi connection problem

I have an annoying problem with connecting my Desire to my home wifi. When connecting the wifi symbol appears within a few seconds but sometimes it won't actually transfer any data for up to a minute. I'm currently using DevNull 1.0.4 with radio version 32.44.00.32u_5.09.05.30_2 but have had the same problem with some other custom ROMs.
My router is a Netgear, using WPA2 encryption and the SSID is not hidden. My laptop always connects within seconds, so I don't think that's where the problem is.
Installing Wifi Fixer does make it connect much faster, but a few times I've seen it fail the ping test and then reassociate before it connects successfully. Trying to Google this has not turned up anything terribly helpful, partly because I'm not sure how to phrase it.
Can anyone suggest what might be wrong and how to fix it? Wifi Fixer does seem to be doing the job but I don't think I should have to have a third party app to make my wifi work.
Update your radio to 5.14.05.08 or what ever the newest radio is. Also, go into your router and change the wireless channel settings.

Might have something to do with the default setting that HTC applies to the wifi connection I'm not to sure on the exact figures but from what I gather HTC set the minimum wifi connection quite high I know that I used to drop my wifi connection a fair bit on my desire HD until I used leedroids kernel and my connection is much more stable now
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Thanks guys. Updating to the newest radio didn't help, so I tried 32.54.00.32u_5.14.05.17 and that does seem to have made a difference in that several times over the course of the evening I was able to connect with no problems. I'll also look at the wifi channel, is there a particularly good one to use or should I just use wifi analyser to look for a channel with no interference?
I doubt it's a default HTC setting as I'm using DevNull which ships with one of Thalamus' custom kernels, but I'm grateful for any suggestions.
I have a
HTC DESIRE A8181 (OEM unlocked)
Android: 2.2
radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
What's been done to my phone: last night & this morning (no sleep yet )
Rooted using Unrevoked
S-Off with Alpharev
Still like to flash an upgraded RADIO & RUU Rom
the problem i have:
NOTE: this was before last night changes (6 days ago it started)
basically i cant WIFI to my modem
my pc's are all ethernet cable but my modem leaked enough if i was next to it (at my main PC) i could wifi connect with my CP to update / go on to the android market etc etc.
Only if i was sitting close to my modem/router
i have this MODEM/ROUTER Iconnect 624W
SETUP: will give you an idea on settings.
http://support.onthenet.com.au/internet-setup/broadband-setup/opennetworks/iconnect-624/
THE FIX: THIS IS IN THE MODEM/ROUTER SETTINGS.
in "wireless setup"
i followed above instructions in the link - mine was basically setup SSID etc EXCEPT my CHANNEL B/G was set at 1 i changed to 4
i changed this setting after 6 attempts of connecting with no success i personally think this B/G setting on 1 was my problem. until i changed it to 4.
in "wireless security"
i followed above instructions as above again. SSID as above preset & just entered my "PSK STRING" (your password here)
saved etc as in the guide.
turned CP off & back on done a scan it picked up my modem entered the PSK STRING password
fixed & i can get internet in the back yard or any room now on my CP's
.
Well I've changed the channel on my router and the problem remains, it turned out that changing the radio hadn't sorted it. Still stuck with wifi fixer...

[Q] Devices don't see Wifi Tether Rotuer Hotspot after Lollipop update

Hi There
First post!
I have a Note 3 on T-mobile.
So I had rooted kitkat using this method: http://www.galaxynote3update.com/root-tmobile-galaxy-note-3-sm-n900t-no-knox-counter-trip/ and had been using Wifi Tether router to have unlimited tethering while i'm at work.
I used this method to get to the new lollipop when it became available for my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...icial-lollipop-n900tuvufob5-t-mobile-t3046295
and now Wifi Tether Router runs, enables the hotspot, but none of my devices can see the hotspot. I've tried the SQL thing, and someone suggested trying to set the encryption to Open instead of WPA2, but that doesn't work either.
anyone else having this issue or have a fix?

Hey, i managed to get it working by changing the SSID. For some reason keeping the SSID i used before the Lollipop update wouldn't let it be seen.
Pls am having the same problem... How did u resolve yours Mr gohanrocs12.. How did u change ur ssid?
Ssid is the name that identifies your wifi network, like Netgear 77, or Lynksys. It's typically the name your network wifi router comes with when you take it out of the box and set it up.
You access it with a computer based settings program that comes with the router allowing you to change settings on your router. .

Try Google and youtube, you will find a bunch of stuff on it. Use your brand of WiFi router in search to get more specific answers.

WiFi Tether Router

Has anyone got WiFi Tether Router to work on the M9? It worked on my M8, but I'm having issued with it on the rooted M9. Or, any other wifi hotspot ideas?
I have an HTC M9 - and recently unlocked the bootloader, rooted and S-Off. (BTW im on Tmobile). After monkeying with the settings in settings.db and the build.prob doc, i got the normal tethering to work on my viper one rom.
I cannot for the life of me get wifi tether router working, and for the time bing have installed FoxFi.
My largest issue is no SSID displays for wifi tether router. It seems to boot but cannot see it on any other devices.
While my FoxFi installation gives me some unlimited tethering, it seems anything that comes across http is metered. While torrent tests do not get metered.
Hoping the wifi tether author fixes the application for the m9. Until then I'll have to live with some small metering on my device.
Hope this helps, if I find some setting combination that works I'll post, though nothing I have found so far works.

To you all having issues with your network after moving to android n

Hi yall. After my successfull flashing to android n 7.1.1 my network wark sub was stocked into 2g that makes my few apps to run and not seamlessly.. I tried all possibility flashing over and over tried all mtk app to change my network back to 3g.. All effort was aborted that almost make my sub for the month useless. But thanks to old trick when using java phone... I was able to trick my network to work on 3g huppy.
To all that is having issue like this its very simple base on your country look for a working server to trick the network. As for me i use opera mini server which have been majorly used which is server4.operamini.com try it.. Best of luck
