[Q] Updating Arc with unlocked bootloader and root - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have small question - how to update Arc with unlocked bootloader (testpoint) and root from 2.3.4 (283) to 2.3.4 (42) w/o wiping user data? Best way?

[Q] Is Downgrade Possible?

Hi,...my Play came with 2.3.4 .42 locked bootloader,...i upgraded to .62 then unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Now i am wondering if i can flash back to .42 or .62 without any problems,...or do i have to re-lock the bootloader,..HELP!
Just re-flash the firmware with flashtool. You can go to any firmware that's compatible with your phone's model
thanx dude m on it!!!

[Q] Rooting error.

Hi,
I recently rooted my ARC S and flashed the new ICS Official. My bootloader is unlocked.
After installing ICS, Root Check Basic says I dont have root access. Do i have to root the phone again? Can i do it the same way i did with Gingerbread?
You need to root again because official Updates doesn't come with root i don't really know how to root ics :/

[Q] Root R800X With dooMloRD?

Could I root my SE Xperia Play R800x 2.3.4 with dooMloRDs Root? or would I have to downgrade to 2.3.3, and if so how would I do it? (Verizon)

Assuming you already have unlocked your bootloader, yes. You can do it on 2.3.4. DooMKernel comes root access.
While it is inefficient to do it that way, if you already have an unlocked bootloader, you can boot into CWM and flash RootXperia to enable superuser.
If you do not have an unlocked bootloader, I would suggest to ftf back to 2.3.3, and root with SuperOneclick (I would also suggest staying on 2.3.3, as 2.3.4 has many notable flaws.)

[Q] [probably important] Does this way work ?

Since firmware .62 can't be rooted without unlocking bootloader.
I did unlock the bootloader and rooted the system by flashing RootXperia zip
And now I am thinking of re-locking the bootloader using this method
Will I still be able to use root permissions after re-locking ?
Well it should I don't see why not but if It don't you can flash to I think .58 which is rootable (correct me if I'm wrong) and then relock your BL and then root it and do a OTA root keeper and you should be set
