I still hope it will come sooner or later to Europe . Omnia W is nothing far from being "EU version of SFS".

I think this might not be fully correct.
As far as I know Omnia W and Samsung Focus S are going to be 2 completely different devices.
The main differences are said to be:
Omnia W being 3mm THICKER than Focus S
Focus S should have 4.3 " SAMOLED PLUS screen compared to Omnia's 3.7 " SAMOLED
That differences also put them in different price segments of the market which could be easily checked if you compare just revealed prices - If they are not fakes - there is 20% gap between those two.
I keep using my Omnia 7 with broken screen for more than 2 months now waiting for the Focus S - in my opinion competition is miles away (SCREEN!) and has nothing comparable to offer... ;-)
I think the Omnia W is the Focus Flash, not the Focus S
Sorry, I mistypped, I ment to say far from Samsung Focus S, lol
I don't expect to hear much about new phones until Nokia World. Once Nokia has made some announcements I will start to expect more from other OEM's over the month of November leading into the holiday season.
Last year Windows phones launched on Novemeber 8th in the US. I expect thats when these phones will hit retail/carrrier channels.
I can't wait for the Focus S also. I believe it will be the preeminent WP7 phone. It will be WP7's SGS2. I love my current Focus because of the SAMOLED display and owned an Infuse for a little, which I traded for an LE GoW3 XBOX package, and the SAMOLED+ was so impressive. The Focus S will have that same display and the same style as the SGS2/Infuse combined.

Pricing and availabilty, unfortunately, have not yet been announced.
Once again, FAIL. Say what you want about Apple, they announce then release. Done. Once again? When? How much? This is a sad tired song that's killing my love of this platform.
Stop with the amateur crap. Reveal the phones. Demo the phones. Reveal, when, where and how much. Get the phones out to early reviewers. Release the phones, on time. Sit back and watch word of mouth and your platform grow.
It really is that simple.
Any news about this phone? It is going to be, probably, the best WP7 phone in the near future, because of the screen...

I love android but Samsung Galaxy Nexus quite disappointed me, so there is a chance to try a WP7 device with this Focus S... and BTW there is a camera button, omg
Two days ago I was told by an ATT employee it should be out in the next 3-4 weeks. It should be out around the same time the focus was last year.
Calm down everyone.
Im thinking around Nov. 7 seeing that Tango will release their app that day for video calling
Wooo-hooo! The Focus S may be coming November 9.

Can't wait.

hi with all the leaks of the new mobiles that are to be released which one is going to be the best 1 to get thats gonna keeps me going for at least 2 years.
With WP7, the specs are all standardized. The options are pretty much personal decisions..
How much storage do you want?
Do you value a physical keyboard?
Which do you think looks the best?
How big of a screen do you want?
What models will work on your carrier (this will probably limit you the most)?
Noone can answer those questions for you. The things that would affect longevity (CPU, RAM) are all standard on WP7 so really won't differ much if at all.

go with hTC Hd3~ haha
question is when is the hd3 gonna be released? One things for sure i dont want a small screen nothing less than 3.8 but would prefer 4 and above
I looking for more of a Touch Pro3 type device. Although I would love to see a 4"+ screen with a slide out keyboard.
I'll probably end up with a Samsung whenever I decide to switch. I don't know what it is, but I always ended up with a Samsung in my pocket for the last 4-5 years now.
I went from the Samsung i630 -> i760 -> Omnia II (i920)
Probably has to do more with Verizon being my provider than any affinity I have for Samsung.
what I'm wondering, .I'm from the netherlands, and also wantto buy it in october, but the dutch version won't be there then yet. So, can I also buy the english version here, or do I need to export it?
cheers

According to pdadb.net the HTC Mondrian/Schubert /Mozart's predecessor model is the HD2, so basically, this will be the HD3.
pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=2388&c=htc_mondrian__schubert__mozart
But to answer your question, RustyGrom couldn't have said it any better, but the best thing to do right now is not to get into any contracts until at least November, I just canceled Sprint and now have and HD2 with T-Mob, contract less...

Is there another site that organizes the upcoming models better?
Well, as always Sprint is last to get a phone. The only positive is lately Sprint has the best looking and performing phones out (Evo and Epic). I hope this trend continues and Sprint drops a real monster this winter.
There is a decent round up here...

now we know the models that are being released which is gonna be best, now im more prone to the hd7 or the omnia 7 manly being screen size not sure which yet. So which would you pick and why?
I'm partial to the Samsungs with the S-AMOLED screens. WP7, even more than other OSes, looks great on a AMOLED screen.

ditto - plus SD card support as well if that pans out.
From people who have had hands-on sessions and the lucky few who have received their review units already, I've been hearing Mozart and Omnia are the nicest. The general consensus seems to be that the HD7 doesn't feel quite right, too big, too shiny and WP7 somehow feels better on the smaller screens.
The Trophy seems to be winning a lot of praise too, though I think that's on the presumption that it will be quite a bit cheaper than the Mozart.
Yeah the Mozart is a very nice looking device. My only concern is no SAMOLED. I agree with the above post about WP7 looking best with an AMOLED screen. However, I'm not too sure I want a phone with Samsung's build quality. Decisions.. decisions..
The LG phones actually look good in the reviews Ive seen which is a bit of a shocker as Ive never like LG for phones that much in the past...
Well... I prefer the HD7... it just looks like THE WP7 device... it just stands out, that gorgeous 4.3 inch screen? that beautiful camera(2 LED!), the stand! the other devices are small and weak... the Dell one just looks ugly(I thought it looked like the BlackBerry Style)
Still, speed is no issue with any of them...
NICE ONE!!!

Hope so, because that'd mean there's a humminbird/SGX540 in it with a 4in Super Amoled screen, but the person who leaked the vid says it's a 3.7in screen. And like most people are saying here, it will most likely have the Snapdragon processor.

Hmmm...the US (att) Samsung Captivate has some pretty troubling issues on the reliability front. Granted it has a WM OS, however, most of the issues seem to be hardware related.
I am pretty underwhelmed by the three rumored handsets set to be announced in a few days. I'll end up purchasing one of them, simply to support the OS, but all of them look pretty ho hum. I really though that Microsoft was going to come out swinging this time around. Apparently not. The OS looks slick, though incomplete, and the hardware looks minimal instead of trend setting. Bottom line is that an WP7 handset announced next week will be eclipsed in technology by holiday sales period. That is pretty sad.
any rumored for tmobile?
I hear they may mention a tablet, or loosen up on their restrictions.
yeah, theres no middle tier phones right now.
i'd jump in a heartbeat if it had 16GB, multitasking, more apps, super AMOLED, 4.3 inch, kinda like an HD7 with super amoled and the obvious ones.
Oh yeah, and a Hummingbird or 2ndGen Snap!
There's a rumor that T-Mobile is gonna get a 4.1" amoled device with, of all things, some kind of oddball *portrait* slider keyboard, with options for 8 or 16 gigs of storage, sometime in Q1 2011.
T-Mobile is doubtful to get more WP7 devices, no rumours have surfaced so far and they seem firmly entrenched in the android camp.

Nah, that's what post 4 was poking fun at. Since the argument got opened up to hardware manufacturers in general, though, figured I'd have some fun. Fact is that hardware failure happens to everybody. Yeah, it's pretty bad PR for Dell to have to admit that their product got gunked so bad as to push it into next year, but I've got a 6-year-old Dell laptop that's still chugging along, so it's gonna be hard to convince me that they're the worst out there. Honestly, if I was a T-mo customer, I'd be eagerly and rabidly waiting on the VP. That's me, though.

i own a trophy, and to get honest, even though there is no stand out feature, i prefer it's look and feel over my sister's mozart. it just feels a lot nicer to hold, and looks better in the hand. though some like the unibody form.
sure, i wish i had a more stand out device like the omnia 7 or focus (if we could get it in australia), but i'm happy enough with my trophy and it will last me 2 years till windows phone 8.
Hi,
just came across this blog entry
http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...amp-t-announces-new-windows-phone-lineup.aspx
Samsung Focus S (4.3" SAMOLED, 1.4GHz CPU, 4G, thin), Samsung Focus Flash (3.7", 1.4GHz CPU) are the never heard before phones there
The Focus S is probably the one Microsoft showed at the Worldwide Partner conference: http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/12/microsoft-unveils-new-windows-phone-7-handsets-from-samsung-ace/
If it's Worlwide and has a 32GB option it will most likely be my next phone.
I think you're right Peew971.
I want to see it in action asap.
My next phone is going to be between the Focus S, iPhone 5 and Nokia WP7 device.
Too bad AT&T has such a low data limit for their smartphone plans, otherwise I'd think about that Focus S. Super AMOLED+ and the screen isn't unnecessarily large, with a 32 GB option.
Does it have a LED notification light like the HD7. If not, then nevermind.
I Just waiting for samsung 4.3 screen is perfect
What about T-Mobile? Kudos to AT&T but their plans are a rip off.

They definitely are which is why I'm glad that my company has been paying my bill for the last few years.
What I want to hear from ATT is if they will be supporting Visual Voicemail for the Mango devices.
A 4.3" screen would be great. I have found myself wishing that my Focus's screen were a little bigger. I just wish HTC had better screens and specs. I have heard they are much easier to play with compared to Samsung. Either way, I love my Focus and the only thing that would be better than a Focus S is a Nokia phone.

I think this is a question that many of us are asking. I would assume(hope) that most carriers will jump on allowing this feature along with others. I mean it can make them money right?
However I still think that windows phone is not taken seriously enough so its possible they may lack care/effort.
My Samsung Focus is a very good phone. I would have liked my next phone to have a physical keyboard though ie. HTC 7 Pro style. The LG Quantum's keyboard was too stiff for me. Judging from the all the press releases so far, it looks like physical keyboards are going away. I guess everybody has to look like an iPhone or something. I'm going to hold out a little while longer, but I will upgrade to the Focus S if I have too. Mainly for the HSPA+ speeds, providing the tethering hack is still available.

Exactly, the new rumored HTC Edge blows the GN away in specs. But that's a Q1/Q2 rumored release. Besides, the GN will work great with ICS, no overlay necessary (I'm coming from an HTC and it became painfully obvious that only sense ROMS are 100%.)
Point is, the GN will get outspecced by non Google phones. You gotta decide if you want dev support or better specs.

Which statment is more true guys? Is google the next nokia but worse because theyre pushing ~1 phone a year ooooooorr is google showing everybody precisely how to botch the launch of a highly desirable phone?
I invented cyberspace. You're trespassing.
I believe in the case there are too many cooks in the kitchen. You have Google on the OS side trying to get ICS ready for the public. Then you have the coordination with a completely separate company, Samsung, who has developed the hardware for their new "flagship" phone. Then you factor in a company like Verison and it becomes a real mess. Now I am not trying to excuse them, I do believe that both Google and Samsung management really missed a trick here and adoption of this phone will now be much slower.
It is also difficult compare Google launching the Nexus to Apple and the iPhone. First, there are mutliple Android handsets launched through out each year versus a single iPhone. And although Android as an OS has a larger footprint worldwide than iOS, it isn't by much and Apple is keeping pace, for now, with a single device. This gives Apple the ability to dictate to carriers how their releases will go, and carriers have to take it. Not so much the case with a single Android device. Samsung and their SGS line could come close in the future given the SGSII sales numbers.
So take it as it is. An uncoordinated launch effort that will result in lesser sales of this device. I for one recently picked up and SGSII and I am loving this device. I was even considering passing on the Galaxy Nexus until I had the chance to play with one over the weekend. The phone, for me, is spectacular.
Can someone tell me when samsung is rumored their next phone. Like an actuall good phone. Cuz I only get samsung phones and they usually only release a couple good phone for each carrier a year. I really dont care about the proxessor or anything so should I get the nexus or the next samsung phone.

The nexus or be patient and keep your ear to the ground through february or so. Should be quite a few more announcements, ics included and newer hardware/generation releases. Im pretty much set on the nexus because of the development community for it. But google sure is making it harder and harder to wait for vaporware until it is officially released.

I would say the next great phone by Samsung will be the SGS3. Not idea when it will be launched but perhaps we will get some news at CES.

I wouldn't call it Vaporware as it does exist. I played with it over the weekend. Actually a number of Google employees, that's how I got to play with it, have had it for a month or so now and are installing nightly builds on it.

I've used Nexus One since January 2010. I love it also because it is not as popular as an iPhone or a SGSI/II. When people see my N1 multicolor led notification call me: "which kind of phone is yours?", "It's a Google developer phone."
Won't be Samsung Galaxy Nexus popular because its launch is very bad (delay, confusion, no spot, ...)? I will be happy because I will be one of the few people to own an official Google developer phone.
This is nothing more than slush! Anyone that actually wants the Galaxy Nexus is going to get it regardless of when it finally hits the market. Google didn’t give a launch date, end of story…meanwhile I’ll keep playing with my SGII and when the Nexus is out I’ll get mine.
Agreed. The wow/newness factory has worn off and I'm just frustrated. Too many alternatives to pick from... too much vague misinformation floating around.
Couldn't agree more with the OP. I just would have gone and bought it within minutes of the announcement if given the option... and here I am now, lurking on Galaxy Note forums for the past few days and now drooling over the rumored HTC Edge (one bada** phone!!).
Heck, I'm even contemplating sticking to my HD2 with Hyperdroid CM7 'coz I just can't find one justifiable fault with the current setup. Bottom line, you are not alone bud
[Edit: Btw, I did purchase two SGS2 in the months gone by and returned them due to inexplicable blue tint at the slightest angle and the fact that the build quality just felt cheap compared to my HD2. Also purchased and sold a Sensation due to poor battery life and a screen that got completely washed when viewed at even slight angles, with no visible difference in resolution from the HD2.
Not too sure that history won't repeat itself and I'll end up being underwhelmed by these devices! Seems unlikely though if I went with the Nexus or the Note. Will wait if the Edge is actually announced with a minimum 1750mAh battery.]
