I want to test my Mozart on the other OS. It is possible the hardware? If there is nothing to answer or do not know how to do this, you need not offer to buy droidphon. I want to try it on my Mozart
You can't have "Other OS" on any WP7 device.
We need people to stop asking for this, there have been too much posts about this.
I think the easiest way is borrowing an Android-Base Phone from your friends. End of the story.
DFT is working on a MADGLR for mozart but without good results, because some things are difficult to port to an other OS

Hi,
A few days ago I started to follow the development of WP7 port for HD2. So I want to know whether there is a working WP7 build for the HD2?!
The next important thing I want to know if there is a working ROM:
Is it possible to run WP7 and WM6.5 parallel with dual boot? The best thing would be if it's possible to run WP7 from storage card without flashing it to ROM-Storrage. Or maybe like Gen.Y DualBOOT solution with WP7 instead of Android. I want to do this for testing WP7 in my company. We have some things to be tested on WP7 and don't want to buy new devices. Most important thing because we can not change completely to WP7 is, that we need the functionality of WM6.5 for our software. So maybe what I need is still possible?

Seriously ?
If you started to follow the progress or actually read ANY of the topics you would be aware of the fact that there is NO working build out there.
If you actually would have done anything besides finding out WP7 existed you would be aware of the fact that progress has been slow and painstakingly hard.
So in short dont state you cant find any info just actually search
Good to know, that there isn't a working build yet.
Users in some other boards wrote, that there is an early build with limited functionality. But this might be not the truth. I think xda-developers are more believable.
I think I should wait a while, because the first WP7 devices aren't released long time ago. Hacking the OS might be much easier while having devices running WP7.
Maybe someone write here, if there is a working HD2 build of WP7, that would be very great

Your company wants to test WP7 but wants to do it on a hacked phone? Too cheap to buy 1 device for testing? Sounds like a recipe for success!!

To add, even IF there's a working port, not all the functions will work properly, if at all... Just buy a WP7 phone if you're that interested in it. Of course if you have been "looking into it", you'd already know this.

Also the fact that there is no method to install your own apps....the testing will be such a success !!!!
Since this is the week of halloween, and all. After halloween, infractions and bans are gonna be given out to posts like these.

Hi, I see that the Hd2 aka leo can run all this kind of os, so i ask me, if the Dhd have a better hardware can this one run all this os? is there someone who are working on it? is only an request information.
1) I dont know if anyone is working on it.
2) I dont see why would anyone want to port Ubuntu, kubuntu, Win 9x, except for the "I can do it" feeling
3) Android and Win phone 7 were bound to come HD2 - the phone is more or less on pas with its younger (EU) cousins Desire, DHD and HD7. When I bought mine HD2, there was this rumour that HD2 is getting the new MS OS 100%. When MS and HTC said it is not going to happen, it was a matter of time everyone to try and find a better OS for the hardware to play with... I think the opportunity to do something better with that piece of hardware the reason for so many hacks
4) On the other hand, DHD cannot get a better OS - it already has one. Probably someone with enough skills and time might port something to DHD, but I dont thing think we will see that many different OSs run on the device. I think in an year or so, when HTC stop pushing newer Android versions to the device, then we will see proliferations of various bulds...
Anyone know if someone is trying to run android on a phone windows 7 (samsung or hd7 Hdt.)
Please would be ideal, Windows Phone has almost no apps, no flash player and also of other faults.
Please I'm a volunteer to test on my phone.
Someone who has the courage to modify.
why? Man, there is an android device on every single carrier at almost all prices. I can understand iOS on android (even though thats not possible)...but there are just so many android devices. I'm sorry, but for this one, I'm just gonna have to say "if you want android, but an android device."
And if you put it in perspective, android on these phones will just be like its android counterpart. A samsung WP7 should perform like the galaxy s phone and an htc device should perform like the Evo or N1. Performance is not that great when compared to WP7 so you'd probably hop right back on WP7. A port wouldnt be as smooth as the original (at first) so it'd be like a double whammy.
stop trolling and buy a fu**in crappy android phone !
Why the hell did you even buy WP7 ??
I'm not sure if you're just trolling or remarkably stupid but either way you're wasting your time.
Please I am not offending anybody to start and secondly then if there is celphones in each company and is not necessary because I modified the HD2 .

I can't tell what you are trying to say here so I'm not even going to try and understand it. If you want android get an ANDROID PHONE. For Christ's sake why would you put Android on a WP7 device when the HTC Thunderbolt, Atrix 4G, Inspire 4G, etc just came out? Why not buy one of those?

No one is working on it, no one wants it worked on, if you wanted android you should have bought that cheap laggy garbage.

Here is a proper response:
Which phone do you own? You said HTC HD7 or Samsung.
If you do not own either you are better off buying an HTC Desire HD. It is nearly identical with slightly better hardware and actually is made with Android on it.
If you have a near mint condition Samsung Omnia 7 send me a PM if you want to sell it.

While I'm sure people take your question as trolling, I think it's a semi-legitimate thing to ask on xda. The short answer to your question is no. It's not worth the time and effort to try and port Android to these devices. Android is available on virtually every carrier in some form, and most of them have higher-spec devices available. It would simpler to go buy one of those if you want Android.

This is the correct answer to the OP's question.

Could there be a way to have the windows 8.1 on our M7? I seen today where they released the windows version on the M8 at verizon today and I was just curious if it could be done?
Thanks

anythings possible but it would take a lot of work. i dont even know the logistics of it and wouldnt be very helpful.
maybe a dev could chime in.
If I were in the position at Microsoft to institute a pirate dual-boot development campaign for Windows Phone, I would have a lot of fun doing it. Generate market buzz for Windows Phone by giving those with suitable devices the opportunity to install a "free operating system upgrade".
The challenges would be as much legal and political as technical - working with OEM and carrier partners who're nervous about unlocked bootloaders, etc. A marketing campaign that isn't about getting people to buy new hardware so much as giving new life to devices already out there... I would target recent Google Nexus devices (they're open, right?), then do an assessment of iPhone 5* and the legality of a push-button JailBreak app: "Tired of your stuffy iPhone? click here for some open Windows". yeah, redmond could have fun with this and make some noise where they need good marketing more than anything, Simply put, I would look closer at Windows Phone for my next upgrade if they did something like this. Do something nice for the enthusiasts and influencers, etc.
If you had the M8 it might be possible, but not on the M7
Know hawk has hinted about trying to port a Windows os to the m7. Again just talked about it a little. So till at least a dev tries and you know someone will try to do it. We will have to sit and wait till they do.
Until the Windows m8 is even unlocked (as the Chevron method will no longer work) and someone manages to make a dump from it, nothing will happen.
Maybe it will still be possible to pay a fee and register it as a Developer device, for publishing apps to the market.
Then when that does happen, getting it to boot on the Android m8 will be the first challenge at hand, as it will have to have the bootloader and firmware ported as well.
Getting all of that ported over to any other device will be a huge challenge and I wouldn't personally hold my breath on anyone getting this done, anytime soon, if at all.
Just being straight about it.
It's not the same as porting android from one device to another.
In my opinion, Cotulla would be the guy to do this for the m7, if he has any interest in doing so, but again that's just my opinion.
We will see what happens... As stated not possible without a dump though
Revamped 2.0 Lunar 4.4.3
well the HTC HD2 was able to get windows 6.5, windows 7, android, unbuntu, and Meego all on one phone so this is highly possible but as Hawknest said, we would need a dump first.
source
with some work, Grub bootloader can be loaded onto the M7. But thats another topic all together.
Problem is even it you port windows 8, Microsoft will pull it from forums..
Yeah, the title says it all.
And no, I'm not here to rant about how this OS can't just manage some apps without glitching/crashing or that major apps are disappearing from the store (as if there were any) , I just want to know if an android port is available for Lumia devices (mine is a 640) even if it's just an alpha or a very basic thing.
I didn't create this thread to see people commeting "Why don't you buy an android phone then? There are cheap ones that run better than that!" "People asked this question already!!!" "It's impossibile. But I have no source to say that for sure"
I know that already and right now I can't really afford a new phone. Also, I wouldn't buy a cheap-ass android phone because that would mean jumping from one Hell to another.
Yes, I could wait but the situation has become unbearable so I'm asking here of all places.
What happened to that video showing 5.0 on Lumia 830? Was it a fake? People in the comments seem so clueless...
What about project Astoria being removed? And that news about unlocked bootloaders?
PS:
I'm not asking anyone to do anything here, I'm just asking if there's a chance that what I demanded for is already online somewhere... news about wp hacking are very difficult to find so I may have lost some important news.
Also, I'm not into phone-developement-stuff but one thing for sure that I know is that this whole porting process is very difficult.
look, is not fake, but is not possible and no any real or usable public port. running android on WP/WM device is one thing, but usable android OS on WP/WM device have thousand (unsolved) problems.

Yeah but, is that video just a few seconds light of hope and then total void?
I mean, how come such a "discovery" was left behind even in this period where WP devices are sinking so bad?
Check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/general/android-6-0-1-cm13-lumia-525-t3442630
The port is far from stable!
