You must be using Haret to run Android. Haret reboots your phone into Android, which is on your SD card. It won't replace your Windows Mobile installation, cause it doesn't touch your NAND memory.
If you want Android permanently you'll have to flash your NAND.
oh ok lol got you. thanks but i instlled your androis version but it dotn have wifi. no gps. and i cant get to the sd c ard its says trial time over need to download new one or someting like that.
WOW i already mess everyting up . i want a nice theme and that my pc will reconize my android phone, i saw all the gouides but noting helps i installed everyting on my pc but still cant get into my phone as androis. i need 1 gouide or video that will help me do all.
please try to help because i really want android
Do this to mount it in windooze:
1. Boot into android, when the press central dpad to enter the installer or similar, do so.
2. Select recovery mode.
3. WHen it say press ok to exit recovery mode, plug the usb cable in.
4. Press ok, exit and let it boot.
After a while, the android phone will mount.
For SD Card Mounting, PM me for the link to the file(its warez). About GPS and wifi, you have to use a compatible build such as warm donut, super eclair, cm 5.0.7 test 3 port and SUper Hero that have wifi built in or as a wifi update. For GPS, use the new DZO's Kernel Or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=660158.
Heya,
Unfortunately android, to be precisely wpa_supplicant does not show ad-hoc networks, the following modified wpa_supplicant shows them, haven't seen it before so I posted it .
all credits go to szym (http://szym.net/android/adhoc-wpa-supp.html)
The patch below modifies the wpa_supplicant code in the external/wpa_supplicant AOSP repo to make ad-hoc networks appear as regular APs with a (*) prefix.
The patch:
* removes the [IBSS] flag from scan results,
* masquerades and demasquerades ad-hoc ssid with (*) prefix
* sets mode 1 (ad-hoc) if the ssid is for IBSS
* permits the supplicant to select an IBSS when associating to a given ssid

The only thing I did was to apply the patch compile it for froyo and supply a signed update zip with the modified wpa_supplicant, work was done by szym.
Flash the attached wpa_adhoc-signed.zip in recovery and your done .
a3e00f284ddff04804ba8d59364712b1 wpa_adhoc-signed.zip (v0.5.11)
Works with:
- Froyo/Eclair roms on HTC Hero (confirmed)
- roms using wpa_supplicant v0.5.x
Attention:
- It _seems_ like some rom using wpa_supplicant v0.6.x do not work! take care (e.g HTC Desire). Please report back.

Always do a nandroid backup!!
Downloaded and will have a try. It will be great if it works. Thanks.
The hero can detect the ad-hoc mode with a (*)before the name. It can be connected but can't access the internet. My laptop can access internet through this ad-hoc wifi. Didn't know why?
It works! Beautiful. I used my old G1 to make an ad-hoc wireless network and my Desire saw it right away and connected without any problem. See my signature for the ROM I'm using (if it really matters).
Would anyone provide "ad-hoc support in wep" in a signed update zip? Thanks.

it is already look at the first post.
The patch didn't work for me at first. I got "Error" while trying to turn my wi-fi on.
But when I restored the original /system/etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini and /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf back in the phone, it started detecting ad-hoc networks.
So the patch worked after all.
Thanks.
[EDIT]
Did not work after I rebooted my phone.
HTC Hero Brown
Running: FroydVillain 1.2.2
Kernel: [email protected] #302
Operator: Airtel India
what does this allow me to do ? will i be able to transfer files between phones?
Hi all, I just got my SGS yesterday. How can I flash this patch. I renamed file to update.zip, downloaded into my SGS /sdcard, and used ABD to install the update.zip. However it gave me a waring 'Installation Aborted'' . I may just doing something wrong here. ...any suggestion? Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot, works on Magic 32b but only for non password protected connections
Able to see the connections on Desire, but unable to connect, gets stuck on Obtaining IP adress.....
Running on Cyanogen 6.0.0 RC1 on Magic, and LeeDroid 1.8c on Desire
will this work on a stock rooted 2.1 Vibrant??
Just flash via ROM Manager?
Did the update and now my wifi wont turn on. You can actually watch it on settings screen turn and off. It is stuck in this loop and eventually comes up with a force close!
Anyone have any ideas?
So will this let me ad-hoc to my netbook which is also wfi-tethered to the phone?
the update zip is only for froyo!!

Nexus
I have Nexus one with cyanogen 6.0 RC3 installed on it.
I have flashed this zip file but my phone still doesn't see the adhoc network on my laptop. i don't know if there is a fault in my PC settings or this is a compatibility issue for cyanogen. can anyone please shed light on my situation? it is very important for me.
that's great!! i Have a nexus one with android 2.2 FRF91 and it worked for me too. i just flashed the zip from the recovery. tnz a lot man, i've been waiting for this
@blackplatypus - will this work with unrooted HTC Desire froyo?
Do I need to do anything special with the file wpa_adhoc-signed.zip other than renaming it to update.zip and flashing in recovery?
I'm getting verification failed message
Please help - Android Noob
works great on desire. thanks
Esofron- would you mind sharing how you managed to do it on your desire? Thanks!

With Enomther's Rom !
Thank you
GPS problem is fixed for cm users....
It is not by me... credit should be given to devs (modpunk)......
I dont know for your device, bt it is working on my wildfire s using CM7
..... because people using cm7 have issues with GPS... So there is a solution now....
Read this post and apply it....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23949139&postcount=234
Voila.... m loveing it now...
Now no need to install sense rom...
GPS is working perfectly...
Thanks so much for this!
I am also running CM7 on the Wildfire S (Build 7 March). The GPS works, but it seems to take a lot of time to lock into a position. Sometime son Google Maps you can see it go crazy and move you all around until it pinpoints your exact location.
I have looked at the link you posted but, and apologies for this, don't really know how to execute the code. I am quite new on this so should I use the terminal on my phone or run it from the ADP teminal?
If so, could you please add the steps necessary so newbies like me can get it to work?
Thanks so much for figuring out this one out!
1. Update "GPS Fix 1.2" from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392466
2. Edit file: "system/etc/gps.conf" using file manager (eg root explorer)
3. Change line "SUPL_PORT=7275" to "SUPL_PORT=7276"
4. Save file
END

your solution is not working for me, however standart solution posted here does the job
UPDATE: THIS FIX DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK. It does sometimes but most of the times it seems to put me in the middle of the UK f I turn the GPS on and off. I then have to run the GPS Status App to get a good location. I cannot recommend anybody to follow these instructions.
Hello boss!
Indeed, I followed the link and downloaded the ZIP file. Just install it from the recovery program and see your GPS flight! I also found interesting installing the GPS utility mentioned on the post.
Thanks for your help guys,
Yona
Gps fixed!!! (for real)
I found an actual CM7 fix that actually works... well on my HTC Wildfire S anyways
What I did is download the cm-7-20120717-UNOFFICIAL-marvel.zip (the top one) from http://code.google.com/p/cm7-wildfire-s/downloads/list onto the PC
Then download the JoyFireS ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665529
Then I unzipped both ROMs into seperate folders
Then because they fixed the GPS configuration files in the JoyFireS ROM I then used the windows search to search out all the GPS files and used them to replace the ones in the CM7 zip in their respective directories (and there's also a location one under one of the GPS files, it says location on it)
Then I Rezipped it and installed it using Clockworkmod Recovery
Then to be sure i installed the Qualcomm Vision GPS Driver v1.1 (the top one) on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132412 via clockworkmod as well... I think it works without it but I like a faster GPS Fix
Then I enjoyed a fixed GPS (and a sense of achievement) :victory:...
I will attach the finished zip when I can figure out how i can do it... I'm a noob at this and I don't know how to post this up, in the mean time you have to go the hard yards...
Credit to the people that made the CM7 zip, the JoyFireS zip and the GPS Fix Zip... I am honestly a noob at this and I'm surprised this works... well for me anyways
Just note that while indoors the GPS is much less accurate and that it tends fix on a false location, best use outdoors only
Hello ,
i bought my DHD few days ago , it is shipped with the last GB update , Android version 2.3.5 , Sense 3.0 , software number 3.13.415.2 ...
i know how bad that looks , cuz rooting the GB shipped dhd seems to be pain in the ass ...
i started to look for it before making a new thread, i found 2 solutions , AAHK and HTC DEV TOOL .
starting with htc dev tool , i read that it has many disadvantages , and a lot of custom roms wont be able to be flashed after using this method in rooting , so i decided to choose the AAHK which seems much better , but i faced a major problem , the downgrading of the dhd ...
i started to root using AAHK , did every thing was written in the notes ,disabling av , installing drivers , usb debugging ....etc
1- connected the phone
2- pasted the password
3- pressed 1 to start hacking
4- i was asked to downgrade , i chose yes
here comes the problem , cuz the aahk started trying to download the PD98IMG , it completes 20 try then stops .
i took the link of the PD98IMG , and downloaded it myself , its a zip file sized 256 mb ... i put it in the file that has the same name in the kit , and started over again , nothing happened .... pasted it to the sd card and started again , nothing happened also , and the kit tries always to download the PD98IMG with no result .....
did i make any mistake ?
did i miss a step ?
any help will be appreciated , thanks in advance
it's not a big deal... just take the downloaded ROM "PD98IMG.zip" and copy it to the root of your SD card, then go to hboot "turn off the phone and then start it with power+vol down " it'll take you to the hboot menu " white screen with few options " it'll scan your sd card and automatically prompt you that if you wanna install the discovered ROM or not, choose yes and you must be ready to go.... hope that what i said is helpful and guys correct me if I'm wrong..
if i helped please press the thx button

mine transfers the file to sd card but hboot wont show any option to press the volume up key to start the downgrading process please help
looks like you have a problem with downloading the downgrade ROM due to your slow internet speed?
I suggest that you should download and install this stock rom
___h t t p ://shipped-roms.com/download.php?model=Ace&file=RUU_Ace_TELUS_WWE_1.84.661.1_R_Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2_release_168987_signed.exe
This is an old stock rom but it will make the AAHK be able to root without downgrading the ROM. Since the link above is a direct link, you can add it to any download manager which can accelerate your download speed. It is faster than letting the AAHK download the old rom by it self.
Hope this help
Can anyone tell me how to install the driver correctly from the AAHK pack. I go to tools then win and install from there. Then I run the program and it gives an error message. Can anybody tell me what seems to be the problem. Thank you for your help guys.
What is the error message ?
Are you talking about the adb drivers ?
Hello everybody !
Ok, I am use to not ask any help, and to find out by myself. But I have to admit I don't have any idea remaining to solve this problem.
Let me explain you the situation :
I explain everything with details to not waste your time when you will help me !
When I first bought my Zenfone, everything worked properly. Then, I decided to flash a Custom ROM (to remove the bloatware, and to get the others optimizations). So what I did :
- I unlocked the bootloader,
- I flashed TWRP,
- I installed my custom ROM (SuperZen R15, super clean install) => at this moment, everything is working perfectly,
- I installed a custom Kernel (ProjectT, v56) by fastboot => here we are, the problem just appeared.
At this moment, the WiFi issues appear. When I boot the phone, I can turn on the WiFi (in most cases), then, WiFi just turn off. It is impossible to activate it again. In the best case, I can switch on/off the WiFi, but as soon as I download something, the WiFi just turn off immediately. Often, I just don't detect any network. In the worse case, it is impossible to activate again the WiFi, the ON/OFF button is grey.
So here is what I tried to get it back :
1) put the standard kernel with my TWRP backup => no success
2) flash another ROM (CM12, Paranoid Android, Barebone,...etc) => no success
3) flash my whole TWRP backup (system + kernel) => no success
4) flash the official Asus ROM (recovery.img, system.img, boot.img, droidboot.img) => no success
At the moment, I started thinking that maybe the WiFi just "forgot" my WPA key. So I modified the build.prop :
5) modification of the build.prop by adding the line ro.securestorage.support=false (instead of "true") => no success
6) flash the last Asus update 2.20.40... => no success.
...
I haven't any idea remaining !So I need your help ! This problem seems very standard, but I just couldn't find any solution yet !
P.S : I almost forgot. I talked about the wiFi signal, but it is exactly the same for the bluetooth signal : working on first boot, then when I use it, it just stop working and disconnect itself, and then, impossible to activate it again (grey button)
=> My last idea was to flash the radio directly by TWRP, but I didn't find any radio files for the zenfone 2...
Many thanks for your help, and thank you for reading everything !!

Try setting your phone as a wifi hotspot. If other devices are able to detect your device, it is a software issue. Or else, you might have to book an appointment with the Asus service center

You're such a genius ! I will try this evening ! Thanks a lot !
Didn't do anything. It's not working. I was thinking my wifi was just broken, but something creepy happened this morning. The Wi-Fi worked again (I downloaded one thing to be sure !) and then... My phone froze, and reboot... Is the devil inside my phone ??
SOLVED ! If someone has the same problem, just flash the stock ROM via ADB Sideload !
Step by step :
1) You go here, and download your version of the stock ROM : http://www.asus.com/fr/Phones/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/HelpDesk_Download/
2) (If fastboot/adb drivers are installed) Go into your recovery (Advanced in TWRP)
3) Connect the phone to the PC, type WINDOWS + R , enter 'cmd'
4) Go into your firmware directory you just downloaded, and type : adb sideload 'thenameofthefirmwarefile'.zip
5) Wait (a loooong time), and here we go, reboot, and your phone work again.

can you tell me what firmware you used exactly? because i tried to flash the first one, from the asus page.
But it says that i have a newest build and it doesn`t lets me past trough the installing part.
I am also having troubles with my wifi and i would like to fix it
Hello ! I don't remember exactly, I went on a website and selected the right version for my country ! But my problem wasn't solve at all actually... I brought my phone to the store, and they told me my motherboard was just burnt. They changed everything, and now it works like a charm ! Be careful with the custom kernel, I'm pretty sure that's how my phone broke (I'm very careful with batteries,...etc)
Well thanks anyway. I will try to take the phone to te oficial ASUS services from my country but i don´t think they give a new one. I live in Uruguay and this cellphone is not at sale over here
Does sideloading the firmware wipe your apps? Or is every thing still there when its done?
