revolutionary is nothing to do with it. When it says Stock, cm7, data++ etc etc, it means the partition layout (sizes) as per www.alpharev.nl website shows.
Unless you flash any of the other hboots purposely, you are stock.

wow!! that was fast. i think i got it. thank you very much for your quick reply. im going to flash the acemod007 lite!!! i hope its good. thanks again

Downgrade Hboot 6.93.0002 to 0.93.0001?

I had 2.3.3 oficial update. I used revolutionary to s-off (with the oficial update i had 1.02.0001 hboot and after s-off i had 6.93.0002 hboot). After s-off i ran the shipped RUU and i am still s-off and 6.93.0002 hboot.
Is there a way to get back to 0.93.0001?
1) alpharev.nl is a website read each line of it
2) u have to read xda every day to understand all, then u can do things like root, s-off, custom roms...otherwise is better u enjoy ur stock phone as is

'' First rename the Bravo downgrader.zip to PB99IMG run it in HBOOT MODE, not recovry mode, aply the update, than you hboot will chance to '' ... 9999 '' , after that i had a RUU ZIPFILE, rename that also to PB99IMG run in HBOOT mode and you're done, yoo i learn this as wel!,
''
So did this bring your phone back to S-ON after you ran the RUU?
Aha it did work thanks

But how do I flash the downgrader??. If I double click on the downgrader it asks me what I want to use to burn the file?.
I am trying to get my wifes desire to have a custom rom as it keeps saying she is low on memory. I have used revolutionary to change from hboot 1.02 to 6.93 with s off but now do not have a clue what to do. I have been trying to read up on what to do all day but everything speaks as though I should know exactly what to do from the off!.
Give me my HD2 any day!!! lol
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Scotty.

Download the img, rename it to PB99IMG.img and place it on the root of your sdcard. Then boot into hboot (while the phone is off, press volume down + power button), click vol up button to apply update and again to reboot. Now its flashed. Then you can continue with the RUU.

Why do you want to do that?
There is a downgrader.img on the alpharev website which if you fastboot flash it to replace the existing hboot, will then allow you to use a RUU. Choose a RUU that has the hboot you want and run it. Of course this will unroot your phone. What is your actual aim here?
Downgrade from HBOOT 6.93.0002 to 0.93.0001
Guys, if you ORIGINALLY had 0.93.00001 and ran the Revolutionary S-OFF program, it WILL update your HBOOT to 6.93.0002. This is a GOOD thing, you'll still be S-OFF'd but you'll be running the Gingerbread HBOOT version. It's always better to have the newer version of the HBOOT than the older version. As long as you're S-OFF'd, it really doesn't matter which HBOOT version you have, I just recommend the newer version. Thanks!

That's exactly what I said LOL There's no use downgradnig HBOOT's if you're already S-OFF'd with 6.93.0002

For your information, GB Hboot is 1.02.0001 not 6.93.0002. 6.93.0002 is revolutionary hboot and if htc sees that highly likely they will not place it under warranty.

Hi everyone I needed to dowgrade because I wanted to use Alex-V's new 1.7.5 HD rom wich requires custom hboot but apparently the revolutionary one is newer hence the need of dowgrade but it was all a bit confusing for me aswell (no ofence and big thanks to all of you that are trying very hard to make it as simple as possible for us) so at the end just before I give up I put the downgrade img from AlphaRev's site in android flasher and it was all done in 1.6sec
I hope that helps

[Q] Differences between STOCK hboot & CM7 hboot

I would like to switch my current rom to Sense 3.5's roms, but i realized that there are different download's link for stockhboot and cm7hboot.

Thank you very much.

Stock hboot has 250mb for /system and 145mb for /data. CM7 hboot has 145mb for /system and around 287mb for /data if I remember correctly. In short, CM7 hboot will enable you to install more apps than stock as you can only use the data partition to install apps.
More info about the different sizes of hboot can be found here. alpharev.nl

If you use the stock hboot version, many things will remain on /system partition.
If you use cm7 hboot version, many things of /system will be swaped out to an sd-ext partition.

Since I am new to rooting I d like to ask something myself. I use official 2.3.3 and I d like to root to get Supernova Extreme. But since I can only use the alpharev method I will S-Off my desire. Does this mean I have to use CM7r2 or can I stick with stock Hboot? Which is best for this Rom? Thank you.

Quoting from the Rom page itself.
Hboot Required: Stock HTC Hboot if S-ON, or Alpharev Bravo Stock Hboot if S-OFF (If you havent changed Hboot, dont worry! Your phone is compatible!)

. You cannot use CM7r2 with this Rom. And having S-Off just means you have fastboot commands which is used to flash recovery etc. and have the ability to edit system partition while the phone is booted. It doesn't mean you have to change hboot. You can just stick to stock.
Means If I have 146mb for apps, which mean Im using stock hboot?
In that's the case than I have to download other ROMs in stockhboot version?

Yes each rom has to be flashed according to the hboot specified. If it is for cm7r2 or any other hboot it would be specified on the rom page itself.

To clarify this, not by deafult. Only if you use a big Sense ROM that has a CM7 hboot version.
how to do this?
What do you mean?

All instructions are in alpharev.nl, hboots included. You'll need the usb drivers and fastboot program.

back from 1.03.0003 to another one

Hello, i have unlocked my phone with htc official tool, and it have installed a 1.03.0003 hboot. Now I want to flash a custom rom. But it is possible to "undo" all and go back to a 0.93 hboot for flashing (example) cm7 based roms?
Thanks
NO...i think....
Apparently it is possible to gain root access, but about changing hboot I'm not so sure if revolutionary team would bother with it. In summary - fail.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk.
in fact, i am now able only to install stock hboot custom roms, like ics beta.. revolutionary tool works only with 1.02 hboot, at the moment.. I have tried goldcard, flash old hboot with fastboot, but nothing.. Hope someone will be able to "delete" this hboot...

Wich hboot

Hey.
I've got a question, my buddy got a Desire (GSM) wich I sold him long time ago.
I had Oxygene and Oxygene hboot on it, now its stock 2.2 Sense and unrooted, cause he is an IT illiterate.
Now he is complaining about lacking internal space, and I will help him root it, and install another Hboot, because that gave me around 300 mb. internal space, when I owned it.
My question is, he will be running rooted stock 2.2, and I will root it and install another HBoot on the phone, to get some more internal space, but wich one should i pick?
Bravo Stock 250M 40M 147M 7bd5234711364880de1fa982dcf3a2d6
Or
Bravo Sense 180M 40M 217M 47d034c8350e665dc20eafbd3a4900de
?
I think you should write down what is exactly shown in the bootloader first. You have to be SOFF before changing hboots.
As far as hboots are concerned only use the hboots from alpharev.nl. Totally depends upon the ROM you want to use. Best to go to the ROM thread and see what the dev recommends.

Either you didn't read the whole topic, or you misunderstood it.
I will gain root and gain s-off, but I won't flash any Rom, I will let it run stock Sense 2.2, and those hboots are taken from the alpharev.nl site.

How do you think to run stock (which mean factory) 2.2 on custom hboot? Do you know that it requires 250mb system partition to run?
Different thing is if you want custom 2.2 made from the official stock ruu, that could be found.

I did'nt know, I thought that was possible?
So you can only change hboot if your running a custom rom?
Yes, cause stock OS, or rom, requires 250mb system partition (it's somewhere around 242-243mb leaving 7-8mb of free space). If youre up to extension of memory, choose some custom rom that fits cm7r2 hboot image and flash both.
Ohh okay.
What is the most stable custom rom with sense?
Maybe some Sense 3.0

Just read, they are all more or less stable...

Flash the stock hboot from alpharev similar to the way you flashed cm7r2.
There is nothing like best hboot. Its just partitions your phones internal memory.
