Android 2.3.5 heading to Xperia devices in November?
Thinking about it, Sony Ericsson has already said this v2.3.4 update won’t be released until the end of October/early November for the rest of the world. Could it be that Sony Ericsson are just moving straight to Android 2.3.5 instead? It’s all speculation for now, but we’ll come back to you when we have something concrete.

2.3.4 has good amount of updates.Wonder what they can add in 2.3.5?
The PSXperia app to run your old PS1 games, does not even work with 2.3.4 , so 2.3.5 is of no real interest.

maybe remove the "back-button-firing-twice-bug"? seems more like a software issue to me, as it happens when the phone lags, and it occurs on almost (though not all, could still be hardware though) every Play user.. besides, the thing about the update is a mere news.. it hasn't even come out.. who knows, maybe we can build a real Death Star with the new firmware..
PS: mine sometimes even fires thrice, or four times...
Us VZW users just got 2.3.3 not too long ago. We still haven't even seen 2.3.4

I have this problem aswell : / And I really do hope its a bug because i dont like sending my phone back.
I rarely see the "double-fire" bug anymore, since going onto 2.3.4, I noticed it most when using the facebook app, and it seems fine now.
Back on subject, I can't think of much I would like to see to be honest, everything I have wanted I have either got thru the last updates, or by after market apps, all in all, I am STILL totally in love with my play!!
I also have this back button bug since day 1 of my phone.. It annoys me a lot but I can't do anything about it..
2.3.5 OTA will be available maybe by january or february next year.. Atm i'm still waiting for 2.3.4 OTA..
I had the double back button issue on 2.3.2, but the verizon 2.3.3 update seems to have fixed it...

Update is here!!!!
Please point all your questions here ----> [OFFICAL] Jelly Bean Update OTA arrived!.
***************************
It is no secret that we are going to be getting Jelly Bean in the next few weeks *cough*carrier time schedules are horrible*, but there are so many "Update just came out" or "I just got an update, woohoo" threads and every single one of them has been an ICS Update.
When Jelly Bean comes out, it'll most likely be around 300-400+/-mb and anything that is around 80-90mb is just an incremental update (see below).
I will bet my hard earned paycheck that there will be news stories about it on AndroidPolice, Engadet, Phandroid, Your favorite site.com and even our very own XDA Portal. What I am getting at is that it will be well documented once the rollout starts.
If you happen to be in Settings and see that you have an OTA available, please do one thing first. Go further down in Settings to About Phone and look at your Build Number and Baseband. If it is UVALEM or UVALG1 or UVALH2, then the OTA you are getting is going to be to UVALJ4 (which is the latest we have as of right now).
I will not be Stickying this so that if anyone is on an older version of the XDA or Tapatalk app, there is no reason for you not to see it. (Newer version has stickies on same page as regular threads. Older version has tabs).
Edit:: This has been up and running for a bit today with plenty of view, I am now Sticking.
No More Update Threads.
And just to throw in a little something else, let's be nice to each other please and thanks.
They did get to the point were it was consired spam let alone annoying

please post a screenshot with some details. Also tell people what firmware you were on and where you are located.
Ok, so it seems that the JB update has rolled out making this thread null.
I am leaving this stuck for 1 more day just for the mere fact to point you all in the direction of this thread----> [OFFICAL] Jelly Bean Update OTA arrived!.
Any and all JB update talk should go there. We will probably be closing threads as fast as you start them. Please, please make sure you post something relavent to the Update and not some garbage.
Thanks to all and hope everyone is happy with their update.

I cannot believe that you would actually post something like this in a Moderator's thread. If this is the type of User that you are going to be, I weep for the future of XDA.
Oh and by the way, I deleted this one and almost all your other posts, so now you are back down to 4.

Yes, here on XDA everything is possible. Wait for Q2 and our devs will release jb 4.2 for sure with sense 5.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD
I very highly doubt that (the official 4.2 release, not the port w/ sense 5)
Where did you get the picture from?

Ha we wouldn't even get ICS because "DHD can't run ICS" or "sense 3.0 is the best setup for DHD"
http://technosamigos.com/htc-android-4-2-jelly-bean-update-device-list-schedule/ maybe
Let's not start this again guys, let it be.
Sent from a dream.
That would be quite interesting if it would be true. But keeping in mind what happened before it's totally not worth looking forward to this. Neither the source is confirmed/reliable...
Very, very unlikely since we were skipped by the ICS update, and other manufacturers are dropping their dual core phones...
This was most probably a typo.
And since most of us on XDA are already rooted, I would definitely go with a mooded JB anyway
would be a dream we hope. :good:

They didnt say it cant run ics, they recognised it could but it woukd mean a full wipe because if partitioning size. And keeping the customers data integrity intact comes before everything else. The desire x - not sure - then the hd is a type or the whole things fabricated. Somebodys having a laugh. Still hoping for the ics update on htcdev, if that does come it really will be the last.
True I believe it when I see it, and with HTC we will never see it.
think so im running a 4.2.2 atm its not great but its a custom rom it doesnt lag that much but it doesnt have google services which is a downside to this one...

We don't know yet, since it's not out yet, so we don't know what it entails.
First time I've read it I thought about a pure android 4.2 versión without sense ...
I think that 5.0 will be not much more heavier than 4.2
I'm curious because I feel like the tablet is running smoother but it could very well be my imagination. I'm going to be happy if battery life is somehow improved by the update.
Hopefully the chromecast crashing system UI bug
Edit; nope
Honestly?? I don't see any difference. I think peeps imagine things after an update.
I though the speed up was imaginary too so I did a post update video comparison with the tabPRO. Definitely sped up.
Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
No question the update sped up touchwiz and massively improved wifi streaming.
Video streaming such as YouTube is MUCH faster.
According to GSam I've been getting another 30min screen on time per charge since the update. Not sure if it's attributable to the update. Wifi is definitely better.
WiFi improved. The micro stutter with touch wiz is obsolete. Keep up the good work Samsung.
Battery feels like it is lasting longer to me. Keyboard entry feels a little laggier though. Could be the browser.
After update I lost like 20 apps.
I'm already rooted so I don't get updates. What update version is it? And what is the date of the update.

Short answer is yes. However, it will unroot your device whereby you will have to flash Beans cf_autoroot again.
Also Sammy may get knowledge that were rooted to start. Once you rooted, you tripped knox (thereby voiding your warranty) . We may get a way in the future to reset knox so that should you need service, you could flash back to stock and reset knox. With kies, sammy may record that knox was tripped and void your warranty, regardless of what you may do to it in the future.
Lastly, it will reinstall any bloat you may have deleted.
I went ahead and flashed it as I will be moving to Vietnam and nobody there ever checks knox, especially on top tier products.

I will say though, the C5606, usually gets things last... Hopefully one of the ZL models get it by the end of march, would be pretty good.

That's a pity.
But on the other hand, as long as there is no stable Xposed for Lollipop, I'm not going to update anyway. So no harm done.

Same here. That's the reason I didn't yet update my S5. But I wouldn't mind playing around with LP a bit, even without Xposed. From what I've seen so far on other people's phones, I don't like it much, but I'd like to try it out on my own device. Too bad I can't afford to tinker with the S5, as it's my work phone...
i think is really near

First purported Z series screenshot:
XperiaBlog.net said:
The screenshot you see below is claimed to be the first showing Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on the original Xperia Z (C6603). It shows that the handset is running on the 3.4 kernel and with a build number starting with 10.6.A.0. This would fit given the currently released firmware with build 10.5.1.A.0.292 i.e. the move from 10.5 to 10.6. Obviously the screenshot could be a fake, but hopefully it indicates the Lollipop update for older Xperia Z series is just around the corner.

I hope it don't come with a battery drain issue (again).
We got bent over a little with how long its taking, but not too concerned ( been having wifi issues, fixes with a restart though)
The post saying "end of next week" is actually end of THIS week... so we'll see... Not too long now, but don't get too excited... I say give Sony another 2 weeks, atleast....

It's funny they try to scare you into updating your phone. I have never ever had an issue with calling out.

Funny I don't have issues... If I did I would just go back to using my rooted Moto X Pure anyway or the Note 4. I always have a few phones to use on standby.
Plus there are alot of negitive posts about the updates and people wanting to flash back so why take the update. I don't see a reason.
Don't try to fix what's not broke. So far my S8+ is doing well other than we can't unlock the bootloader and root.
I will move on to another device before long that is. :good:
:silly:
Another reason not to update... You do these updates and all Verizon does is put more crap apps on your phone... I would never buy a branded verizon phone again. unlocked is the only way to go.
Then you don't get to ***** when the tides are turned and the unlocked versions are the last ones to get any kind of update on them. Cause lately that's what I've been seeing...the unlocked versions may not have any "carrier bloat" but they are SO FAR behind in updates (Security or OS updates)

Don't really care about updates... If the phone works I leave it alone!!
If I was worried about it I would go back to rooting and do the custom ROM thing again.
