All Please Read This NAO!!! Update Threads - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Update is here!!!!
Please point all your questions here ----> [OFFICAL] Jelly Bean Update OTA arrived!.
***************************
It is no secret that we are going to be getting Jelly Bean in the next few weeks *cough*carrier time schedules are horrible*, but there are so many "Update just came out" or "I just got an update, woohoo" threads and every single one of them has been an ICS Update.
When Jelly Bean comes out, it'll most likely be around 300-400+/-mb and anything that is around 80-90mb is just an incremental update (see below).
I will bet my hard earned paycheck that there will be news stories about it on AndroidPolice, Engadet, Phandroid, Your favorite site.com and even our very own XDA Portal. What I am getting at is that it will be well documented once the rollout starts.
If you happen to be in Settings and see that you have an OTA available, please do one thing first. Go further down in Settings to About Phone and look at your Build Number and Baseband. If it is UVALEM or UVALG1 or UVALH2, then the OTA you are getting is going to be to UVALJ4 (which is the latest we have as of right now).
I will not be Stickying this so that if anyone is on an older version of the XDA or Tapatalk app, there is no reason for you not to see it. (Newer version has stickies on same page as regular threads. Older version has tabs).
Edit:: This has been up and running for a bit today with plenty of view, I am now Sticking.
No More Update Threads.
And just to throw in a little something else, let's be nice to each other please and thanks.

They did get to the point were it was consired spam let alone annoying

please post a screenshot with some details. Also tell people what firmware you were on and where you are located.

Ok, so it seems that the JB update has rolled out making this thread null.
I am leaving this stuck for 1 more day just for the mere fact to point you all in the direction of this thread----> [OFFICAL] Jelly Bean Update OTA arrived!.
Any and all JB update talk should go there. We will probably be closing threads as fast as you start them. Please, please make sure you post something relavent to the Update and not some garbage.
Thanks to all and hope everyone is happy with their update.

I cannot believe that you would actually post something like this in a Moderator's thread. If this is the type of User that you are going to be, I weep for the future of XDA.
Oh and by the way, I deleted this one and almost all your other posts, so now you are back down to 4.

Has froyo been rooted yet?

Ok... I'm one of the idiots that updated to froyo thinking that I would be happy with it and not miss having root. I was wrong. Fat chance that froyo will ever be rooted so maybe its time to buy a phone from someone that hasn't applied the ota. Has anyone been keeping up with the latest developments? Is there a chance that someone will manage to root froyo? I think I know three answer. I had no choice at the time. Phone was rebooting everytime I got a call while already on another call and I couldn't afford to have that happen as I was out of town on business.

Lol. I'm glad a nice and relaxed person got in before the xda mercenaries started screaming for blood.
Be patient...they are working on getting it rooted. You can check the updates in the sticky up on top.

Lol...i had the same thought.
dude relax lol...... trust me froyo will deff be rooted soon..... nothing is impossible trust me.... its a tough task but these devs are insane
Well sometimes I wonder... If all the noobs installed the ota then why would the leet devs bail them out? Wouldn't it just be easier to keep developing onto whats already been cracked? Thanks for not jumping on me

Well, what about the people that bought their EVOs with 2.2 already.
I would be a super sad panda if I was stuck with an unrooted/unrootable phone.
On the other hand, almost every EVO forum out there has a sticky of this sort: "2.2 NOT ROOTED YET!!!!"

To give you a timeline, EL29 (the December 29th build) was leaked January 4-5th. So the FB10 (the February 10th build) build will likely follow a similar timeline.

I'm not so sure the word "likely" should be used any time we're discussing a Samsung product.

You're confusing official releases with leaked releases. Big difference.
I think mod should merge the threads. Overly happy or not, op this is creating unneeded cluttered. Makes it harder to for other peoples thread to get exposure.

why merge it?
nothing new in here... ill request a mod to remove it.... since most of you who post "THIS SHOULDNT BE HERE" , "THIS IS ALREADY POSTED" and "WTF OP USE SEARCH".... never contact a mod or do anything but complain...
(not saying its you or anyone in this thread)
that pic of the pissed 2 year old made this thread worthwhile

Official Ice Cream Sandwich On Kies, For Glalaxy S II T-Mobile

I got this IM from a T-Mobile Insider on friday... Sorry for the delay but i been working all weekend...
So...'unoffically' (which is why I am not posting on your wall), there is an uupdate scheduled for 5/21. The update is designed to upgrade the OS from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. The upgrade is optional to customers which is why the decision has been made not to push it. Customers will be required to download it from the Samsung website. Feel free to reach out to me with any other questions or status chk anytime.
Enjoy
Maxnike
What? Confirmed? (P.S. inb4lock/delete.)
Sounds like you are talking about the LDE update which is not ICS. Might want to stop counting on that "insider"
did he say when the ics update can be expected?
Just now checked at 10:47 am CST, did not see a link for the upgrade.
Seriously another one what a wrong with you people first off this dosents belong in dev section. Second all speculation in general was closed and moved to sticky. This is becoming ridiculous there too much freedom here everybody posting hear say stop posting new thread for no reason go do that on facebook or Google plus.

"Beginning 5/21 an OTA update will be available for the Samsung Galaxy s2 The update will upgrade the device to 2.3.6/T989UVLDE. The update will be avail via OTA and through kies from may 21-June 22"
Direct quote from tmo doc
so its just like any maintenance update nothing special nothing really to do with ics
And this should be in the general section not the Dev section please move thread

Continuous Build Server by atc3030 is Online

I present to you my simple project of an automatic build server for android ROMs.
Currently, my server takes about 45 minutes to an hour to build CM9 from a repo sync. And since I like to be as up to date as I can, I set my server up to simply sync, build, clean, and repeat. I thought it pointless to only use it for myself so I decided to go public.
As of right now, my server is ONLY setup to pump out UNOFFICIAL builds of CM9 about every hour or so. So this should be able to always have the latest changes from cm.
NOTICE: THESE BUILDS ARE UNOFFICIAL, and since it is an automated process, the builds will not be tested each time they are built.
I am doing this simply because I am too impatient to wait for goo.im to keep up to date (Don't get me wrong, I love goo.im) but I like features. Rather than keep rambling, I'll just give you the link. The logs are under logs and the builds are under zips.... self explanatory. So give it a shot, occasionally a build will fail and if that's the case, it should not show up in the folder, but heh, I try.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me or email me.
And yes, I do have plans for expanding this process to include all source roms for the Nexus first, then possibly other devices. But I am poor and only have one machine so I will work on it....

[Q] Theming

I want to get into theming, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in a general direction on how to do so, i.e. any programs/tutorials i might need?

I would love to take the time to learn as well. I use to theme for my blackberry curve years ago and there were some nice tools to make it easy to compile them after completion. I have not taken the time to research the tools needed to theme for android yet and if some one posts up some links I would love to get started as well. If not I will probably be looking into it when I get a couple of days open to dive into it. Hope someone can help you out JehC, maybe if you get it down you can pass your knowledge on to me.
Well of course I will, I'm always open to helping people

I am curious as well, JehC. Like I said somewhere else, stock Sense gets boring after a while. It starts to get the same with everything.

Good luck m8, report back on your progress.
Until I get time to actually dive into making a theme, I have been tinkering with UCCW and am currently using it like this:
2nd rough draft
