hi guys
i used to have a go launcher and i deleted it and since then mi home screen is black and i cant do anithing with my phone just receive calls and messages.
i tried to put android 4.0 on it but another problem shows
i cant run safe mode its shown only android guy and a ! sign
please help
that's recovery mode. Hit volume up/down at the same time to get to the menu. Wipe and reboot. If that doesn't help you will need to flash an sbf file. You might have to try a few to find one that works.

defy problem
Hi I dont mean to hijack your thread. I have a similar problem. I had defy+ stock gingerbread 2.3.6 german blur. Updated to that CM9-ICS it was running ok but missed the camera contacts etc.
I tryed change to cyanide CM7.1.0.11.
All I have now is cyanide bootup screen I cant access android recovery(power +vol d) or bootloader(vol up+down). Is it dead?
Really liked this phone. Tough little phone.

Did you flash full sbf Defy+? There's no way back.
But you can use Defy+ CM Nightlys.

Got it back to CM9 and just get camera and contact working now. Anybody know how to import sim contacts.?
I tried changing the softkeys on my Gnex and now I have none (I'm a newb). I am rooted and I can still access apps so if anyone can send me the stock SystemUI.apk in the system>apps I will greatly appreciate it, I will be even happier if someone can do one with 3 HTC one X style softkeys (just the original 3 though (back, home, multitasking) I would also like help on how to install it as I suck at modding and I need step by step help

Just download any stock based ROM muzzys ROM eos they all have them how did u lose or soft keys in the first place

I really don't want to go through the trouble of a ROM, really just want to simply change my soft keys
I lost them by trying to put HTC One X style softkeys on them but when I did the keys and notification bar disappeared after rebooting
do you know how to add them step by step?

Is the nav bar completly gone or is it just completely black.
If its just black, go to nav bar settings and press reset Nav bar.I had this happen to me....you'll have to re flash the ROM to be able to change the actual images of the buttons or just put up with the stock nav bar.

They are completely gone, do I just do a regular recovery mode flash with clockwork mod? I am using just stock rooted JB so I don't have a ROM.
And are you sure there's no way to change the nav bar? I really want to without all the extra stuff in ROMs

Why don't you extract of from the Rom zip
First, you should always, always do a nandroid before you flash stuff on your phone.
Second, I don't believe there is any way to simply flash keys on a stock rom. I'm sure if your more savvy to modding/theming you can do it but not without a little computer magic.
Third, to get your keys back (since you don't have a backup) you'll need to go ahead and either download and flash a rom from the forums (fastest way to get your phone back to normal)
Or you can unroot and re lock using the toolkit you used to root your phone, then start from scratch.

Oh and lastly, sometimes ppl get a little pissy if you ask questions in the wrong forum. The q&a forum is up top

If you want speed go with CM
If you want features go with AOKP
If you want hybrid go for PA
All of them are stable you just have to choose what fits your needs

Those three are good suggestions, but none of them are "close to stock" as you seemed to want in an earlier post.

...You just flash it in a custom recovery, it has little to do with your computer's OS. It's the same process for most ROMs. Have you actually gone through and read a few threads?

I actually change my keys often from my phone and I'm running stock. There's a post somewhere in themes and apps, can't remember exactly where since I'm on my phone, but someone has a bunch of icon sets for soft keys and also directions on how to change the keys using either apps/mods or directly in /system.
What I do is download the soft keys I'm interested in, and use Root Explorer to extract SystemUI.apk. I locate the extracted folder and then I move the soft keys I want into it and save over the old ones (they have to have the exact same name even if different images). I then zip the folder, rename as SystemUI.apk, then move it into /system and save over the current .apk and reboot.
When I first started this way it seemed like a bit too much hassle but now that I'm used to it it's fairly simple and quick.

Took less than five mins. Forgot to add that once you paste over SystemUI you'll either have to have a quick trigger on the power button or just do a battery pull because you get the "SystemUI has stopped" error message.

I recently installed softkeys for nexus 4 by atticus182 following his instructions but when i rebooted the phone my softkeys(and the black bar) and the notification bar went missing, I m kinda disabled with the phone right now. And i did not take a nandroid backup either considering this seemed fairly easy. Can you guys like always have a way out of this. I m really getting scared here, How to get the stock softkeys back, and what was it that i did wrong?

I am not familiar with that rom, but are there any settings for extended desktop that may have gotten enabled?
Not that i know of.
EDIT: Checked that, its not Extended Desktop issue. Im not getting calls either, like it rings like once but cant see anything on the screen.
If you can get back into recovery you might try flashing again. Did you use zipthemer or metamorph? Metamorph can create issues.
Just flash your rom + gapps again. Make a nandroid next time too

Or : SystemUI.apk has stopped working. btw. i dont think softkey mods work on cm10
This is an issue with metamporph, same thing happened to me on CM. Just reflash. For some reason it does this when extracting plus installing. Once u get back to normal you can reflash them using the already extracted theme in metamorphic and it'll work fine.

im just soft reset.. and it solved.. for now..
but after im reboot my phone.. my notice bar will goin missing again...
now im really dont know how to fix this...

If i get it right, sometimes your statusbar disappear. If yes it means that your SystemUI force closed. You can do only two things now. 1.) Try flash different SystemUI.apk. 2.) Reinstall ROM.
But please try to post more information.

ah yes... im sorry for my bad english...
well.. i think my systemUI is error? can u help me find systemUI compatible with my ROM now?
(well my status bar always disappear if my phone reboot.. try soft reset and it will show.. but after im reboot second time it will disappear...)

First, this is an outstanding job! I am in love with this rom so far, and made an account just to subscribe to this thread. I don't want to miss what you guys have in store!
But, I have a question, many apps on the store that I used to use (artflow, photoshop touch) require a "tablet device". These would work using stock, and worked using stock or Cyanogenmod for Note 2, but somehow that isn't triggering with this rom.
I mean, I'm sticking with this as my daily driver so far, regardless. I just used both those apps a lot.
Thanks for this amazing rom, it breathed new life into my phone!

It may be the DPI setting by default but not sure. I would try changing DPI to 480, download apps and put DPI back. You can do this via build.prop or using an LCD density changer app

Ptmr3 will have this issue fixed on the next update but I don't want to flash a different temp rom until new update is available.

Normally the temp fix is to push vol down, then volume up when in a call.

Tried that already.
I have installed exdialer app. This app works if I am calling but not when receiving the call.
Anyone have any issues with the loss of data? Been running flawless for me up until the last 2 days. A reboot fixed it the first and second time but last night no matter what I did I could not get data back. Had to revert back to CM11.. if anyone has the reason/solution I'd love to go back.. I'll try to ready the thread fully if I get time today at work. Just seeing if anyone else experienced the same thing

Is this ROM compatible with the AT&T version of the Note 2 (i317)? I've read good things about the ROM and am eager to try it, but would prefer to know beforehand.

I am pretty sure that you need a Touchwiz rom to have compatibility, otherwise it would be compatible with all android phones and not just Samsung Galaxy variants.
Hmm cleaned flashed the ROM twice now with gapps and cannot for the life of me get Bluetooth to work .. Tried to connect to car Bluetooth with the right passcode but it just will not connect
Edit: OK as long as the device doesn't require a passcode it will connect hmm how strange

Anyone have this problem? Phone keeps restarting when I try to change a contacts picture on the native contacts app (people app)
Wiped cache and dalvik doesn't solve the problem
edit: phone also restarts when i change wallpaper/lockscreen wallpaper but the changes to wallpaper and lockscreen wallpaper does stick, but the contacts picture changes doesn't stick.
Since having xposed installer enabled , and only greenify module checked on .. For some reason if I boot into recovery from the power menu it will boot loop on twrp 2.8.0.1.. Then will have to Odin and clean flash all over again .. 4 times now and still can't figure out why that happens .. Maybe xposed installer is the cause? So I decided to turn off the phone then hold up vol up power and home key to get to recovery but it loads the twrp screen then reboots the OS .. Not sure just what to do or about recovery.. Also made a full backup and changed cache, system, and data to f2fs format and restored to that system .. Could that be an issue as well?? Anyone please give an insight to this would be greatly appreciated
Edit: also running latest CM Agni kernel to support f2fs format

u might want to try to update twrp 2.8.1.0, I kept having boot loops at every reboot and had to pull battery. I dont know if it might help u, but it did fix the boot loops i kept having.
How do I turn off multi window? I keep getting a split screen with out an option to close one of the screens. Everything from woot to Amazon app.
I have installed Jedi Master 18 but the air menu function wills pen isn't working.

I got a question ( tried the search function...didn't work). Sometimes when my phone goes to sleep, whether I lock it or it locks itself. It won't wake up... Tried the home button and power button and they won't wake it up from its deep sleep. The only thing that works is to pull the battery and that's a pain in the butt cause of my otter box case I have to take apart 2-4 times a day....love this rom but if I can't get this issue fixed I'm going back to liquid rom...thx in advance
