If you haven't tried this app already, definitely give it a shot. So many features. It basically incorporates Titanium, Root Explorer, Voltage Control, SetCPU, SD Card Boost, ROM Manager, TMobile ThemeChooser (for CM7), Terminal Emulator, Ad Blocker, Rebooter, V6 Supercharger, Autokiller, Font Installer, Custom Boot Animations, Battery Icon Changer, Boot Logo Changer, and probably several other common Root apps all-in-one. You can mess with Build.prop tweaks, vm heapsize, sysctl tweaks, and more. AND it lets you Apply any changes you make on Boot.
And the best part.....ALL FREE!!!! (though there is a donate version, not sure what the extra features are - but all I mentioned above is in free version)
Let me know what you think:

Check out Imoseyon's recommended settings/tweaks as well here.
great app
Thanks for the tip...I just got it and MAN is it amazing! I'll play around with it some more, but if it holds up...I'll buy the donate version. Really good app!
Just found this today as well. Super useful.

what other things can you set at boot in the paid version that you can't in the free version? cuz u can set governor, sd card read speed, and other things at boot for free..
possibly a result of some tweaks i just made using Rom Toolbox, I'm flying right now. Faster than ever. Here's what I changed, just in case anyone can point out if I did anything bad:
Auto memory manager
6,8,24,30,40,50 (same as Aggressive 1 settings in V6 Supercharger)
vm heap size = 32
sd boost = 3072
Min Free KBytes = 4096
Dirty Ratio = 90
Dirty Background Ratio = 70
VFS Cache Pressure = 5
Oom Kill Allocating Task - SET ON
Applied everything at boot, obviously. I did a little research on what to change these values to, and so far these values have definitely sped me up considerably.

Great so far. The improved performance is even more noticeable, however. only thing you might want to change, if you know what it is, is the oom kill allocating task setting. a lot of people seem to leave it off, but from what i understood it did, keeping it on should save more battery and just operate more efficiently (makes the killing off of tasks to regain ram less random). so far there's been no downside to having it on. also, you might want to test out putting the vfa cache pressure setting to 1. many people do that, too.
It requires the pro version to freeze apps

Well, he did make the change with Rom Toolbox. To the guy with the battery issue, I think you need to be on a deodexed rom to change the battery.
WOW!!! The speed change is amazing!!!! hard to believe that just a few tweaks did that!
Bought the pro version of this. Tried to change battery icon and it froze on boot logo on reboot. Tried to refund and it won't refund. Will be emailing the developer.

Yea... don't get me wrong I'm sure all the functions work great, and it's not like I tried anything else with it. Having one freeze was enough for me to stick with the ways of doing things that I know I never have issues with. But knowing me I'll just keep the paid version and try again at some later date. Maybe something just glitched during the reboot.

Not sure if this will help, but I have the pro version as well and was able to successfully change the battery icon. I liked having the number off to the side so since I have the ICS theme on my phone, I used that battery icon. I think it's 'Bar Ice Cream Sandwich'.
Hi guys,
as most of you have experienced, Grand theft auto 3 came out for Android I have been waiting for it quite long, so I am very excited that it's finally here now.
I downloaded the game, and started playing it. It is playable, but it runs very snappy, laggy. I am playing with like 10 fps, wich is kinda slow..
What I tried to fix it:"
-Install the Blackice AOSP rom, so see if there's improvement.
-OC my phone to 1,5 gHz
- play it with Chainfir3D, and put the textures on low.
Like I said, the game is playable, but I think I can get more out of my phone..
Maybe I am wrong, and is this all I can get, or maybe there will come updates soon to optimize the game for this phone..
Let me know if you have any solution!
Thx
That's weird, I'm running it on Ultimate ace with pretty good fps (>30), maybe try changing the CPU governor to performance, or check if there's any battery saver enabled which could affect performance...
Thx for your fast response!
Unfortunately, this didn´t seem to help.. I even decreased the texture quality with Chainfire 3d, but this only gave me 2-3 frames win haha.
I don´t think it is because of the rom, since mine is as simple as you can get ;O
Do you have any other solution I could try?
Maybe try redownloading, perhaps you've got a bad file?
Im using the Black Ice Rom but Game runs quite good. It isnt that fluent but looks pretty good though. But I cant play the game properly. My DHD freezes and reboots after playing about a minute. I turned off undervolting, but problem didnt go away
Can someone upload there handling.cfg plz, I downloaded one for the SE arc and now the cars fly when accelerateing

Hi,
I built a (I would say very nice) bootanimation but the problem is that is seems kind of laggy.
The animation has 2 parts (one that runs once, one that repeats). First part has 175 images, second has 45. All images are sized 360x640. Boot animation works but I have the following issue: it lags! First part always lags, second part lags only on the first run, after that it is smooth as it should be. I also tried using only the first part and it's the same: first loop is laggy, second is smooth.
the desc.txt contains this:
720 1280 24
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
All seems ok but for some weird reason, it always lags during the first loop...
Does anyone have any idea why? Or how I can optimize it? Is it too much info to process while booting?
this is starting to get on my nerves...
I tried:
making the individual images smaller, more compression (actually, found out how to go to about 10% of the initial size - from 80MB to 9MB)
making it shorter (using only 100 images)
nothing works...i still get a lot of choppiness on the first run...whyyyyyy???
I read that it might be a kernel issue...could it really be?

If it makes you feel any better, all bootanimations lag for the first few rounds. It's happened on all of my devices. Android starts up and puts a load on the CPU, the last few rounds of a bootanimation are absolutely pointless because the system has been loaded up by that time, it's purely cosmetic. That is why disabling the bootanimation results in faster boot times.
Maybe its because of the sub-par gpu on the nexus? Not sure, just putting that out there

What would you recommend the priority be? Booting up or butter smooth animation?
How about a static image, no animation... and don't reset.
I use the Nexus One animation because even slower, it looks cool. Perhaps try not to make it as busy thus creates an illusion of fluid. Or have the animation still at first, like a logo, then have some animation... like a quick fade in... then a slide?
You just have to get creative to work around it.

a static boot animation can prevent battery drain and/or boot more quickly?
EDIT: there is the possibility to see the POST of boot (like a computer)?

they already have that... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648555
i mean, the real android post, not an animation
Try this for computer style boot screen
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.livelogcat.lite
Add for the lag... Its more than likely not your ba but the phone lagging while it boots. You can try using jpegs instead of png although its been so long since I've done one that I'm unsure if jpegs work anymore. You can also try pngcrush to squeeze more kb out.
Hi all,
I've been fiddling with RipTide GP a little bit, just wondering if anyone else has noticed a dip in fps when you set the graphics up from Default to Sharper Graphics?
I mean obviously this is to be expected but I was hoping the T3 could cope okay, what settings do you run it at and are you ROM'd or Stock?

you loose 60fps with the full resolution, thats kinda acceptable given how effects heavy the game is
i also noticed with this game the interactive governor is better but not perfect, since your are using the tilt sensor and not "interacting" with the screen as muhc
and so the governor drops the clocks sometimes
best way to play it is with minimum clock set to 1.0ghz and interactive gov
wish so wish there was a game launcher app on android where we set governor, clocks and minfrees per game

You lose a full 60fps when set to sharper Graphics?! Jeez that's alot, still as you said it is really effects heavy!
At first I thought I was getting tired and wasn't concentrating properly when playing lastnight! Now I know I was loosing a lotta fps!
Interactive Govenor seems best for most games then I think, RipTide GP, Nova 3 etc...
Still haven't set my Govenor yet as I need to install System Tuner.
A game launcher App that set up the Govenor, Clocks and minfrees would be great!, just click in and out of 'Gaming Mode' before and after you play would be amazing! Instead you need to change it all into 'Gaming Mode' and then back to defaults or loose loads of battery!

Is it best to leave it running the interactive gov? or is it best to change between Int. and OnD. govs?
Also, Task Killer... I thought I heard once that killing everything in TK is not a great idea as thememory managemnt is pretty aggressive... plus, it's got bits running in it that I'm not 100% on, should be okay to kill it all right?...

no dont use task killer
you can use supercharge which is complicated but follow my guide to save the stock minfrees and change them on the fly using script manager widgets
or simply in System Tuner auto-kill menu you can change them on the fly
rebooting will restore the stock values
as for ondemand it best to switch back for battery when ur done
all explained in my gaming guide by the wide you just have to force yourself to read it

I have read through it, a few times
I'm looking at it now
You experience slowdowns on HOX with Riptide GP? What's wrong? I mean, on my device with graphics maxed out the game runs silky smooth, no lags of any kind. In my opinion it may very well be the best optimized game for our device. And my HOX is still locked, unrooted and not modified in any way, I'm haven't even done the tricks hamdir has suggested in his guide. I never needed, although he does provide some sound advice. I just played a match of 3 rounds, finishing first just to check. And it only at a 3% of my battery!
Is it possible that you have loaded your Sense launcher with widgets/pages/cities or have many running background tasks that may actually cause the slowdown?

frame drops are different from slow down
@ Feregorn: The game isn't slowing down I'm loosing frames, they're different.
Slow down is when everything slows down because the CPU/GPU can't cope with what they're processing and/or get bottlenecked.
Frame Drops are what happens when the game stops showing like 100fps and drops to like 40fps, so gameplay will look less 'smooth' and may appear to 'skip' a little bit.
Atleast that's my take on it, @ Hamdir, correct me if I'm wrong?

speed remains the same just the smoothness sensation lowers as the frame the rate is reducing from 60fps to 30fps or less
Mine don't lag at all
I stand corrected then...Oww guess I'll have to live with my mistake....But although it may seem that we are talking 2 different things the gist of the matter is that while playing with Riptide on my HOX I still don't experience any framedrops/slowdowns or whatever. Game apperas to me, to run silky smooth (and I'm an experienced gamer), just like GoW 3 did on the PS3. I'm talking about THAT kind of optimization. I can't understand what in the world has made the game to have on your defice such an inferior performance that it becomes noticeable.
which firmwares do you guys have?

But on the Sense homescreen, I only have 3 pages, one with the Weather clock, google search and a birthday widget, one with the full-page music widget and one with the full page calendar widget. I've also disabled autosyncing for most of the time. Maybe these are helpful in improving overall performance???
well hiy every one !!! i have a trick i want to share . THIS trick you may know but only if you dont and it is only for stock firmweres of samsung i have tried so.
i have tried it on stock or modded GB and working great .
and tried it on stock jb 4.1.2 on the galaxy s2+ so have fun
1- open dialer
2- type *#9900#
3-choose (change debuge level )
4- well here by stock you will find it at low you have to change it to medium or high and personaly i prefer med. and high for heavy HD games . as you like (change it to med. for normal use )
5- save , close and restart .
6- enjoy
and remember this is working for only stock roms for all samsung galaxy and it will boost your game performance as well some multitasking
if you like please hit thanks it wont take from your time
Thanks for all SGW DEVOLPERS AND SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH

ur welcome
well still trying to know i am not a pro yet
but i think One of the goals of Fast Dormancy is to increase the battery life of a device, by limiting the amount of signaling between the phone and the cell network. But, when Fast Dormancy it is not enabled in the network and is enabled on the phone it ironically works the other way around, and actually drains more battery than before. i hope you got it
thanks, attached link explained everything about it.

shouldnt it be the other way round.
debugging is seeking for bugs in your phone.
if u set debug at highest priority, cpu has more work to do debugging.
set the lowest, free up cpu for other apps. right or wrong?
so should we leave it at low (default), correct me if i'm wrong.
btw, my antutu benchmark score is 7415.

my rom is completely stock GB 2.3.6, only mod is boost 3D graphic with AdrenoBooster V0.3.
it only works for GB, simple to install, didnt need to flash.
extract adreno_config.txt file from v0.3 zip, copy n paste to data/local/tmp. done. reboot.
boost 3D graphic from 2000 to 4000 score mark.
openGL ES 1.1 max 56 fps.
openGL ES 2.0 max 16 fps.
