MIUI on Defy+ ? - Defy General

Hi everyone, users of Defy
I project to get the Defy+ for christmas.
I wanted to ask, especially miui developers on Defy if there will be an official MIUI Rom for the Defy+ and maybe if it is already under development and if you have some dates or other infos...
The date of release is not a problem because i will have it maybe for Christmas so i have the time...

is there really anyone who works for the MIUI Project ?

The defy version of miui should work on defy+ with no problems.
You might need to do a workaround to get to the froyo kernel.
Although its been reported that it might just work on the defy+ 2.3.4 kernel as well

I can confirm MIUI can run on 2.3.4 kernel on Defy+. However, the possible battd issue is not resolved at the moment

Oh, nice I should try this when i get it but i saw on forums that they had compatibilities problem, because of the 2.3.4 kernel, and some hardware stuffs like processor.
But are there some of you runing MIUI on Defy+ ?

I am using it right now and the only problems I see is a non-working wi-fi theter. Everything else works just fine

Thanks for this answer !

No. For me it charges up to 84%.
When I try to replace battd and libbatd.so from the original 2.3.4-134 DFP 74, it just says 100% all the time, so probably it doesnt work as intended.
Well, I hope some workaround will come soon...

I think the developers are going to do something to fix that, when you wipe the battery stats and reboot you don't get 100 % ?

Exactly. It says "charging", but never charges to more than 84%

Is battery max capacity hard coded in battd file or something?

Looks like so... Anyway, we better should wait for the devs to answer that question

Cause i'm new on defy's forums i don't know any dev ? If some of you are or know some.... Ask ! And share but thanks for the answer of you all.
And other question, is it possible to have new kernels and if it s no because of the bootloader will it be unlocked like motorola said ?

a friend of mine uses my MIUI Version with this battd and you have to give this file 777 permission and delete two files under /data/battd, there is comething insde cc_data or so
after that you can charge until 100% and this should work, but anyway the battery charges only to 4.14volt, but the full power of the battery would be 4.4volt
don't kill me for that information, I don't have a Defy+ only Defy, but he said it works
i uploaded the zip where I have put it in, don't know if this will work for everybody. It replaces the file, gives the right permission and deleteds the two files

Okay thanks, won't kill you
Thanks for sharing that when i get my defy+, if anything is released, i test it

hi!
I have the same problem the battery charge up to 84%.
have you resolved this problem?
tnx for all!

Flash with that zip. It should fix your problem. Let me know whether it worked

It's there any fresh news about obtaining full voltage on a defy+ with original MIUI 2.4.20 for defy ?
Some kernels are better than others, before installing MIUI ?
Kind regards.

The 0% battery issue is a problem made when people was trying to downgrade their phones from stock Firmware 2.3.6 to 2.3.4, that move makes the phone always in 0% of battery makin it unusable

[Q] Flashing GB 2.3.4 to JB 4.1.1 (with long gap version) vice versa causing damage?

Ok, it should be a stupid question. but a bit scary if it is true.
i readed in a forum it said when flashing ROM with a long gap version number (for example 2.3.4 to 4.0.0) will causing damage (or hard brick). so if currently you are now in 2.3.4 you should upgrade if first to 2.3.7 (one step above) then 4.0.0 (if you know the version step properly will be fine, if not?? who know if there is 2.3.5??).
so guys is it true or not? for me it is sound not so logical.
want to get info through the net about this, but a bit confuse what keyword to use to search..

It should be all OK. Greatest concern is flashing bootloader, that might "brick" your phone, but there are solutions for this all over the forum. Anyway dont worry about that, if you have some approved bootloaders for ROMs from this forum, you should be OK, then flashing ROMs is without problems. I have been flashing official ICS to GB, then to JB, and nothing bad happend.
I think it's ok

so, seems everyone said the same.
event there is no proof about this, but logically it is impossible you brick your phone because long gap of version.

Before you flash anything just be sure to follow the roms instructions and also keep in mind that you should backup your phone before you start to flash anything incase anything does screw up. I went from 2.3.4 to 4.1.1 (AOKP rom) and have had not too many issues that haven't been solved from the rom.
I think you're refering to the "0 percent battery" issue which occurred for some users flashing back while 2.3 was all we had, not so much an issue these days.

thank you for sharing, yes that was my though, but mentioned issue causing something damage (boot sector damage or something damage i forgot it) and it is different than 0% battery issue right?

[Q] How can I maximize my HoX Battery with CM10?

Hey guys,
I'm currently running CM10 and I use my phone quite a lot. I got wifi and 3G on all the time, but I want to maximize the battery even further.
How can I? I only installed CM10 Rom.zip and flashed boot.img. Nothing about kernel (or does it do that automaticly by installing a rom...?)
Let me know!
Thanks!

try this and feed me back:
install the NCX kernel v10 b1, the AOSP version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873615, read carefully the steps to install, and wipe your cache
just complete a full charging cycle, which means drain the battery to 0% then charge it to 100% then start use ur mobile normally again, just tell me after a day of use, have u reached n3o's (the kernel creator) results?

Hi! I will try it.
Just a few questions..
1) Don't I need a Cyanogenmod10 boot.img, instead of the AOSP image ..? :s
2) Standard or extreme model?

I took the standard edition and also flashed the modules. Wiped all cache and stuff, except reset user data.
It just booted and now it has screen 'android is being updated, app # of # is being optimized"
And now it booted.
Guess that is normal? Anyway.. I hope battery is better now!

Yep, 9.xx is ICS based.
He needs 10&11 for JB.
And he needs a compatible CID for those...
Is he compatible I wonder........

Nope, not necessarily. For the leaked Sense JB, you need to update the hboot, which means you need to have a matching CID.
u can use faux kernel which is just amazing, you can see some people up to 6 hours screen time with wifi on, don't know if 3g will make a huge difference though
