[Q] How can I maximize my HoX Battery with CM10? - HTC One X

Hey guys,
I'm currently running CM10 and I use my phone quite a lot. I got wifi and 3G on all the time, but I want to maximize the battery even further.
How can I? I only installed CM10 Rom.zip and flashed boot.img. Nothing about kernel (or does it do that automaticly by installing a rom...?)
Let me know!
Thanks!

try this and feed me back:
install the NCX kernel v10 b1, the AOSP version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873615, read carefully the steps to install, and wipe your cache
just complete a full charging cycle, which means drain the battery to 0% then charge it to 100% then start use ur mobile normally again, just tell me after a day of use, have u reached n3o's (the kernel creator) results?

Hi! I will try it.
Just a few questions..
1) Don't I need a Cyanogenmod10 boot.img, instead of the AOSP image ..? :s
2) Standard or extreme model?

I took the standard edition and also flashed the modules. Wiped all cache and stuff, except reset user data.
It just booted and now it has screen 'android is being updated, app # of # is being optimized"
And now it booted.
Guess that is normal? Anyway.. I hope battery is better now!

Yep, 9.xx is ICS based.
He needs 10&11 for JB.
And he needs a compatible CID for those...
Is he compatible I wonder........

Nope, not necessarily. For the leaked Sense JB, you need to update the hboot, which means you need to have a matching CID.

u can use faux kernel which is just amazing, you can see some people up to 6 hours screen time with wifi on, don't know if 3g will make a huge difference though

[Q] Most Saving Battery ROM

Hello, i want to ask about custom rom and stock rom that the most battery saving, could u tell me what rom is it? because my gio is really wasteful, its only standby for 6-8 hours
FYI : i have stock rom with S5660DXKP6
Jonas hendrickx rom has great battery life.
Sent from my GT-S5660
giopro 1.4 also has good battery life
Right now using CM7.2, lasts a lot longer than stock.

could you all tell me how long your battery life is? and is it stable?
Usually GioPro 1.4 lasted me about 2 days with regular use (some calls, angry birds, a little wifi usage, screen brightness level medium)
Not that bad of a rom, actually.
I tried different ROMs and for me, stock with custom kernel and the same settings across ROMs, it lasts the longest.
I tried stock, CM7 by phiexz, CM7 by squadzone, CM9 (GalaxyICS) and now I'm running stock with phiexz' kernel.
About 12 hours even with constant Internet access (WiFi/HSDPA).

whoa.. i'll wait this rom until stable because i see known issue and bugs from that rom, but thanks for the answer..
Changing kernel? Easy peasy.
Run download mode, flash CWM with Odin, reboot to recovery.
In CWM, mount /system, install zip from SD, choose the ZIP with kernel and voila. You might only want to apply Superuser ZIP too. Pre-rooted kernel from phiexz doesn't appear to be really rooted.
And voila. NoFrills CPU control is there, Superuser is there. You've got control over your superquick smartphone .

Adrenaline ROM has a great battery life
Inviato dal mio GT-S5660 con XDA PREMIUM
For a ROM with good battery life, you could also try "Particle ROM". With low usage (a bit wifi, standard apps, no games) I get 3 days, sometime even 4.
madelgijs
phiex rom, no doubt
Adrenaline ROM really has improved battery life than stock.
This is the BEST, Hands down, most Battery Saving Rom:
It must be built from Source (Aosp) (Like GB, CM7, CM9)
And most of it depends on the Kernel

[Q] kernel ?

i just flashed viperx rom and thinking of staying on it for now,
so i heard that if i install another kernel i get better battery life etc,,,
so i wanted to flash a new kernel my Q is how can i go back to my stock kernel ?2nd does some rom comes with a kernel like in ARHD they say they kernel is the stock ? im gonna use faux 007m

stock kernel has a very good battery backup.
but if you want the best out of gaming and battery, then i would suggest try faux 10b5.
Its still in beta but I have faced no glitches with the rom/kernel.
My current stats after first cycle is 25hrs standby time with more than 4hrs of screen time.

Find a stock boot.img (search for it) flash the backup of you stock rom, or flash it anew.

I would reflash the rom with a full wipe if i we`re you. Have you erased the cache after flashing the viper boot.img (fastboot erase cache)? For me it is 99% perfection. It is superfast, rockstable and very nice skins available. No issues with Play and certainly not laggy.

Never had these issues ! No lag and no problems with the playstore in any way. Did you checked the MD5 from the rom.zip ?
And yes its a fine rom ! Its stable and batt friendly (at least for me)

Sorry but im a bit noob(as my name says XD) whats MD5 and specificly where do i find it??
The MD5 number is a code embedded in the rom.zip, the right MD5 is right under or above the download link in the OP of the thread ..... You can check after downloading with a MD5 checker (Google ) the MD5 cecksum of the rom.zip to see if its correct ... if not you have a bad download !

Mine ran totally fine when I had it installed. RAM and CPU were both lower than with the stock ROM.
I haven't really run any benchmark tools, since I think it's running fine anyways, I know it's faster than 99% of the android devices around, which makes me completely happy.
I think you should just reflash it.
Flash boot.img, erase cache. Data wipe, Dalvik wipe, format /system.
Then just install the ROM.
I know you aren't stupid, but maybe you missed something.
And now my opinion about the ViperX ROM:
I like 2.7.1 more, because the battery lasts longer plus the vertical quick settings in the notification area is what I was desperately looking for. (Just because I loved this on MIUI - HTC HD2 too :laugh
This ROM is by far the most extended HOX ROM I've seen out there. Love it!

Cant use play store? Phone was bit laggy? Well, thats sad, for Venom ViperX is the fastest i witnessed!
Do a md5 check of the rom.zip ? Maybe its a bad flash.
Are you using a custom kernel ?
I ran an MD5 check with the phone app and its the same no bad download ill try to reflash with the recommended kernel
I use stock kernel
And when the question pops up which kernel you use....read the question carefully. You have to chose NO ! (That will say you are on stock kernel)
I reflashed everythig one more time and now is working fine
I just have a little problem: i dont know where i can turn on power saving mode
One more qustion has anybody tried the new custon kernel with or without this rom ?

[Q] GimmeABreak for Desire HD ROM

Hi
I installed this ROM and there is an issue with the battery as the percentage keeps going down even when plugged into AC power(not usb).
Is there anything I can do about this?

Hi and Thnx Guy,
I actually rooted my Desire HD for the first time using HTC_QuickRoot_1.1.13 after unlocking bootloader via HTC site. Then I flashed CWR via flashboot using cmd on PC.
After that I just placed the GimmeABreak ROM on SD card and flashed via CWR. Oh and it was stuck in HTC screen after this and after much reading figured out that I had to flash the boot.img via PC.
This is pretty much all I did. ROM works perfectly fine. Except I saw that the battery charges pretty slow. But I read that it takes 2 or 3 charge cycles to get optimum levels. BTW I saw an app that deletes battery stats files and recalibrate it. You think it would help?
Cheers mate.
maybe you can try wipe battery stats under CWM recovery..but i don't know if there are in CWM menu..
or maybe you might also try installing another rom..
hopefully can help..

Hi Jeamy,
Ya I just did that. I will wait and see. As I am a newbie here, I was wondering how can I harness the best battery life out of my phone. Because that's one reason of rooting and using custom ROMs in my opinion. I'm very happy with the first ever ROM (GimmeABreak) I'm using and how can I go about tweaking the phone to get the best battery life?
Thanks

There's a multitude of ways you can increase your battery life
First off, buy an extended battery, they're around £20. It helps a lot!
Underclocking helps a lot, especially when the screen is off. l usually set my phone to run at 300 MHz when the screen is off and also force it to use the conservative governor. When using the phone I usually set it to 700 MHz so it wont drain.
Undervolting is good

hopefully you can understand what i mean..

Ok, i was just talking to someone that was having the exact same problem as you and it turned out that he wasnt properly doing a full wipe.
You need to format everything other than the sd. In 4ext the option for this is in wipe > format all partitions (except sdcard)
Make sure you do this.

Ok, i was just talking to someone that was having the exact same problem as you and it turned out that he wasnt properly doing a full wipe.
You need to format everything other than the sd. In 4ext the option for this is in wipe > format all partitions (except sdcard)
Make sure you do this.

OK. I'll try this method too
And why don't you fix this, for the users to not go trough so much trouble ?

1. Users arent really having to go through much trouble. The only difference now is that you need to reboot in between flashing the rom and gapps.
2. By slightly breaking the setup wizard, I seem to have been able to fix the WiFi bug where it would get stuck turning on. I would rather have better working WiFi that I constantly use, than a perfectly working setup wizard which I only use once. Im sure the majority of other users feel the same.
you're right. I just said. Don't be mad on me :|
And finally it started . Hell yeah :highfive:
Thx for the somthest,fastest,stable 4.4 rom :>
hell yeah.

VPN Issues
Greetings, I have installed Beanstalk 4.4.2 on my 4 years old Desire just few days ago. So far so good, it is great, fast, it really revived my smartphone. But ...
What is the reason no form of VPN works on it? I have some prepaid solution and its app doesn't work. OpenVPN doesn't. PP2P/L2TP solutions don't work. Is it system bug which needs fix or am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks for answer.

It needs kernel 3 which fixes that and camera and otherstuff but that's still in development.

Sorry to ruin it for you but camera will not be fixed with K3 release, if it will be released anytime which I highly doubt anymore. It is a matter of unreleased sources and libs by HTC, so the best we will get is what we already have, camera-wise. So long story short, if you want fully functional camera and video recording, GB is the only way or that chinese ICS released sometime ago.

So if I want fully functional and fast HTC Desire I should go for Mild Wild or pure CM? What is the difference between cm based and redux based MW? Thanks.

I would recommend Mildwild MW rom based on redux2.

They're just slightly different ROM bases. Install both, see which one you prefer
It's the best way to find out, unlike recommendations without justifications as above..
Remember you can maximise space much better with either of those ROMs as they into smaller hboots
CM version will fit into cm7r2, redux should fit into oxygenR2, check the threads.

Yh but didn't Qualcomm release adreno 200 drivers? I'm sure they did.

Qualcomm has nothing to do with camera, unfortunately.
