Is there a way to change the led color when you get a new text on the stock text app? Like a flashable script? Or is it compiled in the apk? Or...?

I don't believe there is. You can use a 3rd party messaging app to do this, like: GoSMS, Handcent, ChompSMS, etc.
Just be aware you only have 3 color choices with the Epic's LED. (Blue, Red and Magenta/Purple)
I haven't had much luck with them.

Hi,
I know there is a solution to display emoji on android like "emoji font updater (root)" but that one is only in black and white.
Is there another way to see and type emoji icons on Android in Color? Or is this impossible?
I'm running 4.0.3 AOPK build 18 on my Galaxy Nexus.
thanks,
Bump
Nobody has anything on this?

If you use third party messenger apps like handcent or chomp, emoji icons can be shown with the right plugins..
I hope this is helpfull.

thats the thing, i didnt want to have to use a 3rd party messenger app.
Does anybody know a way to edit the black & white emoji font and replace the emojis with the colored ones from 3rd party apps/iPhone?
I'm certian this is possible...
Perfect example is Handcent SMS. Allows you to pick your notification LED color, and mine never has a difference, and this is the 2nd or 3rd Epic I've tried it on. Facebook, on the other hand, defaults the color to blue.
Does anybody know why I can't reach this level of customization with apps that have done it for years?

Our phone's LED has red and blue primary colors. Those mix to make magenta/purple. We only have 3 colors for our LED.
I've seen green.. but I don't know how to get it with handcent.

I'm not sure how to mix red and blue together in any way that makes green...
Edit : I checked with my 4 year old and she said that red and blue only make purple.

I doubt the stock ROM supports Emoji.. it would display it as a box.

I could actually see emojis in the stock messenger, and throughout the system by changing the fonts in the system files..... but they appear white and black, but through CM9s apk messenger they could be seen in color and I'll prefer that .
Edit: to JayRokk I prefer the stock ics look thats why im looking for this alternative I would rather not download alternatives like gosms or hand cent =\

i'm beginning to like the stock messaging app since it supports emoji's now (well at least for cm10 / aokp users) but the white background is killing my eyes!! Can anyone help me make the background pitch black? & I guess i'd have to make the font white lol. & please dont refer me to GO SMS or HANDCENT. Thank you =]
Open app, in settings, under background style, choose background 1.

Sorry but when I said Stock I meant the stock android jelly bean messaging app. Which doesn't have the option to do that.. I'm using 4.1.1 AOKP Not TouchWiz
Dude just open the apk with apk manager, take the time to theme it the way you want. Finish up and your done.

I am looking for a 3rd party messaging app that has ALL of the following features
Contact picture in Notification Shade
Quick reply from directly from Notification Shade (not a pop up feature)
Individual message tones
If anyone knows of one I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Doesn't Handcent do all that?

Handcent does not allow you to reply directly from the notification shade.

Textra has the best implementation of quick reply from notification that I can think of. It also includes the other features your looking for.

CM Messaging doesn't allow you to have separate notification tones.

I'm not sure one messaging app does all that. But check out 8sms, chomp sms or glowfly.
