*** Notes ***
1. Android doesnt really do that much which I was surprised at.
2. There are 5 screens on this theme and I only use 3 of them so 2 are there for you to get creative with or just delete if you dont want them
3. Android uses a hard "menu" button to bring up its menu so I put a little purple android on the screen to mimic its function
4. The background on this is super widescreen meaning the background spans across 5 screens. really cool feather of android and I am glad I was able to mimic it. If you change the background you will loose this effect
5. Navigation of this theme is as follows:
A. Tap the box with time and such to unlock
B. Swiping your finer up and down on the main screen bring up the apps menu and hides it. Pressing the button also does this
C. Switing your finger left and right navigates between the pages
D. Pressing the purple android toggles the manu on the phone and messaging pages
AS ALWAYS, READ THE FAQ IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS FIRST

haha hey are you saying my other themes aren't cool!?!?!?!?!?! LOL JK, it will be available relatively son. real like slowing me down
Well i like your themes very much!! But I want to impress the people with my blackstone with a cool theme and stuff. Not a blackstone which looks like a wannabe iphone. So i can't wait for this andriod which will beat the Iphone theme, I hope !
I will be waiting for your theme!
i have done a lot of research on Android's UI by watching all the videos and screenshots I can find and I have to say that it really doesnt have much lol. I have pretty much completely recreated it. Of course it isnt possible to recreate its browser or contacts lists etc etc etc. One thing I was able to mimic is its "spanning desktop wallpaper". My version has one wallpaper that spans across 5 screens (not the same wallpaper over and over but a 2500x800 across 5 screens)
I am putting in some menus that mimic the small white one on each page that appears when you press the hard menu button on the G1. I am saying all of this so that those of you who have not used an Android phone think I am missing a lot because there isnt much to miss

thanks a ton!!! was fun to make
Hi,
Thanx a tone...cool theme...looks very similar...
I have downloaded it and have customised it quite a bit...nice trick with the 5 wallpapers looking like a widescreen wally...
Just one small question...dont know why but swiping right for screens on the left brings the screen much quicker as compared to screens on the right...is thr any reason to that or is it just me???
Looks interesting
I went ahead and rooted my phone pretty much for the purpose of custom theming and graphics. This is what I've got so far:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfKPXbrtr4E
Now, what I need to wrap this up is some nice, red icons, but, I haven't been able to find ICONS anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated, and if it matters, I'm running the rooted version of the latest OTA (1.47.65.1.1 or whatever).
Have you checked the theme forum? I am sure there are some in those packages.
Yep, I did, and I didn't see any that were red in the themes posted, and, it seems liek no one just posts icon sets in there.
what kind of icons? for the battery and menu stuff?
What about this?

haha, that's the theme that I'm using! I meant replacement icons for the actual apps themselves.

Hey thank you for the deviantart link. Now, I've already found icons I'd liek to use and have saved them, but can someone point me in the right direction on learning how to apply these to my phone?
I think you will have to explore /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk
not positive though, but worth a look

4. Click "Apps" when prompted.
5. Check the box for whether or not you want a caption below the icon.
6. Click the app that you changed the icon for earlier.
7. The app is added to the desktop.
I had that in a chat log.....
or you can go the hard way and edit .apk's, and push them to your phone.
Use gimp or irfanview or whatever photoediting software to resize them for your phone... 72x72 is what they are.
Wow man, thanks a ton. I'm actually about to get started on this now.
And jsut a quick question... the icon packs... I just move them to my sd card right?

ok no problem.
just put all your icons in a folder on your sd card and its pretty simple.
good luck... let me know if you need some more help.
Remember alot of the icons you download are larger than 72x72... you need to resize them!
There are icon packs on the market but they are crappy! Google, DeviantArt... you'll find what you need.
Actually no man, it's turning out GREAT so far. Your instructions were simple and dead-on perfect.
Here's a screeny. Thanks so much guys!
looks good! Good job!
thanks a lot man. I really appreciate your help.
I'm a complete noob to all of this, and within a day you guys have gotten me pretty competent on these things.
This is a great community.

quick question..
how were you able to change the sprint name on your lockscreen and notification?? that looks slick!
oh and awesome setup!
I think one method is through the CDMA workshop. There are a few tutorials on it (in dev section I think?)
But he may know an easier way
Hey he's right. I used the cdma workshop tool... sorry for the late response but I work days and am actually posting this from my evo.
Also, the trick works on both the slider and the header even though its just listed for the slider

Hello everyone. It seems that I can't see any other thread with this topic in my searches so I'm starting a new one.
FlipFonts are built-in to our Samsung Galaxy S's and they're quite nice. What are your thoughts on them, and do you have a favourite one?
My favourites are Dave Gibbons and Soho Gothic. I wish there were free fonts, or better yet, a way to use OpenType/TrueType fonts.
UPDATE /// Create Your Own Flipfonts!
ritalin said:

I present you with two threads. The first is my How-To thread with everything you need to start making FlipFonts. First time will probably take you about 20 minutes, After you get use to the steps you can make one in 5 minutes.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745345
The next thread is the Vibrants Master List of user created FlipFonts. All that I ask is that you post your flipfonts in this thread so that they are all located in one location. We have been trying to keep the fonts in the first few posts with links that allow for download in the XDA tapatalk app.

agree, i've been pondering about that as well, there should be a way to convert/import regular TrueType fonts into our phones
I've seen other fonts being and installed by users, but am I right in thinking that you need your phone rooted to be able to use them properly?
Check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735148 u have to be rooted, but its working with truetype fonts.
how can i use the flipfonts?
sorry for the Q

the official route is to buy them from Market then
Settings => Display => Font Style
I do like the Helvetica Nueue and Frutiger but none of the flipfonts I've tried seem to include a bold weighting (important for me when seeing what email is unread, also the time in status panel should be bold etc).
Droid Sans (the default) is pretty cool though anyway.

It's a pity no one's figured out how to package them in an apk for installation by non-root users. All good stuff though.
My favorites are Helvetica Neue and Soho Gotic (my #1 favorite), though some applications look a bit ugly when using other fonts than Droid Sans.

Are you guys serious... I created a method for making your own FlipFonts and posted it in every Galaxy S variant forum on XDA, Im a Vibrant user. Hell my howto was even posted on AdroidSpin last week.
This method does NOT need root and works just like the fonts in the market.

Dude, I'd give you 3 stars and a pint of your favourite drink for sharing this with us.
--- EDIT ---
Already created my first FlipFont! I'll be posting it in that thread. Off to create screenshots now. It didn't come out as good as I wanted, it looks a bit too small, but hey.
No problems... I'm glad so many people have found the how to useful.
If you want to check your font size before making the apk double click on any of the capital letter glyphs after you do the paste special. This will open up the edit window for that glyph. You should see the original guides for android fonts listed there. Use the cap height and other to see if the new characters are too small or too big.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
did something happen to the font thread?
yes, why are the fonts missing?
Wondering too.I created some flipfonts.now where to post?maybe I'm allowed to share them here again.
post to keep this thread up or shall I start a new one with a collection of all flipfonts/my flipfonts?
Thanks for the tutorial.
Soon, i'm converting the fonts on my PC to my SGS!
Hey guys, I've looked for this everywhere including the thread itself (for Widgetlocker themes) but cannot find what I'm after.
I am looking for one that is exactly like the stock slider for the SGS2 lockscreen (messaging and dialer). I know there are the Motoblur ones, but they do not quite fit the bill.
If anyone can help me find or someone design one I will be most grateful an possibly a small donation.
Thanks

I see the zip files but not the whl file that generally goes along with locker themes. How exactly did you apply this?
Never mind I am an idiot
I was lurking Mycolourscreen and found this screen which I found really nice but the creator haven't mentioned any details on how to create a screen like this! I wonder if any one of you could tell me kindly? I like it a lot!
What apps/widgets are used?
Thanks in advance.
