My wife has finally upgraded from her x10 mini to a nice new white galaxy s2. She loves the phone so much she want some protection BUT at the same time doesn't want the whole or most of the phone covered in a case or skin.
Her sister owns a iPhone and has one of the bumpers on it and she seems to want something similar but in smooth plastic not gel/rubber.
I've done quite a bit of searching on Google but so far nothing has impressed her!
If anyone has any advise on a good quality one I would much appreciate it. I'm not fussed about price but want good quality!
Oh and its essential that its in either green red or blue.
sgp neo hybrid ex... the best around and also comes with screen protector.
I'd get a Sweet Armor-GS2 from Gmarket, looks pretty pimpin.
dealextreme offers plenty of covers/bumpers for sgs2 for friendly prices. just search i9100 on their site. I am using translucent grey silicone one, but they have many colors for your wife to choose from ;-)
P.S.: in what times we are living in ? I'm just a noob here - not the terrorist.

Search for SGP Neo Hybrid EX, you have 6 color to choose from, one of the best Bumper. Color are nice, I have a gold one here.
Uh guys, the Neo Hy is NOT a bumper case. The Linear ones are though, once you ditch the back cover.
Anyways, off the top of my head:
Metal
1) Akiba slider (hard to get)
2) Taurus
3) Sweet Armor
Hard Plastic
1) SGP Linear
Hybrid TPU/PC
1) Walnutt bumper
I'm using the walnut and it's a nice mix of hard plastic and smooth TPU, buttons are a bit hard to press, but it's nothing a cutter blade and a few seconds of cutting can't handle.

The SGP Neo Hybrid cases aren't bumpers but, the Neo Hybrid Ex cases are bumpers. The outer plastic shell on the Neo Hybrid is what the Neo Hybrid Ex is.
@OP the Neo Hybrid Ex is probably the best bet if you want a plastic bumper. SGP makes quality products (own a SP and the Neo Hybrid case from them) and I haven't had any problems.
Hope this helps.
My bad, folks. If the EX is a hybrid bumper like the Walnutt (I've seen pics and it seems to have silicone on the inside) it should be a very good option for the OP.

Seidio. Their surface case is my favorite. Otherwise just do a search on amazon for TPU cases if you want cheap but protection with choices.
S-Line TPU Cases on eBay
These are great little covers, they fit great, look great, feel great and I got about a half dozen of them for $2-$3 each on eBay.
Aquaflex TPU case. Can be found on Amazon, eBay and a variety of other online retailers. Pretty inexpensive. Here is a link on XDA DINC2 about it and a link to several color options on Amazon.

Currently using this $7.50 TPU case from Amazon. Fits like a glove, adds hardly any thickness while providing full coverage, elevates the screen (so you can put it face down and no part of the glass will touch), and is non-slip while still being easy to slip in and out of my pocket. I don't think I would go with anything else.
Got a pair of these TPU plastic one-piece soft as glove from itrimming store on eBay - $3.90 for 1 with free (fast) shipping. Excellent customer service again & again including warranty replacement. Black color is very slick and no longer worried about the slippery thin phone, dropping & cracking the gorilla glass screen, etc. - and, it fit into old Body Glove pouch for the Moto Q series.

Good evening, dear forum readers!
I'm looking for a bumper case for my Galaxy S2, similar to that of the iPhone. (without covering the back) I know the Walnutt cases, which really looking great, but the antenna cutout is bothering me... I just think it is really unnecessary. So I was looking for a bumper case without that cutout, I searched eBay for this and only found fake walnutt-like cases. (Does anybody have experience with those cases, what quality do they have?) Do you know a seller who offers bumper cases without an antenna cutout?
Thanks for your help in advance!
Maybe go for the SGP Neo Hybrid EX. That is pretty minimal.
I have the Walnutt bumper case in 2 black and its awesome. I swapped to it from Neo Hybrid.
The cutout doesn't bother me at all ;-)

I strongly recommend the OP not to buy the SGP Neo Hybrid EX, I´ve had it for a month and half and the silicone is already loosde due to the heat.
I might get one of those TAURUS bumpers, I like more the Akiba ones but they are so expensive
I've considered both SGP Neo Hybrid EX and the Walnutt bumper, and I like the Walnutt ones more because of the colour combination and the Walnutt-tag. But I tend to drop my phones a lot, guess I'm a "bit" clumsy. I'm afraid that the upper right cutout will leave that corner unprotected. Maybe a full-silicone-case would be a better solution for me?

Eh? How does the EX become loose from heat? I thought only the regular neo hybrid was plagued by that.
@victorlht88
Very good, quite tight. Much better fit than the neo hybrid.

Just got my new phone in the mail I was going go case-less but its just too pretty and I know I'll ruin it so I'm looking for something lightweight and thin, some protection would also be nice.
Also what is the best screen protector to use with cases?
I can definitely recommend the "casemate barely there" case from future shop. by far the best case i have owned. Barely recognize its there.
I like the SGP Neo Hybrid case.

I think I'll be getting the SGP Ultra Capsule or Silke.
Of my: Otterbox Commuter (awesome quality + protection, but bulky), SGP Neo Hybrid (Meh...), Barely There, and Incipio, I'd recommend the Incipio (1st choice) or Barely There (2nd) for slenderness, quality + a degree of protection.
Screen protector: I can recommend the Phonedevil one that is on Amazon, about £8 for two. Great imo, the reviews on Amazon are also very positive.
Case: Can't really help there, I'm using the Casemate Tough which is good, but thick and bulky
Thanks guys I'll be going with the CM barely there a lot of people recommend it.
Still need to check out the screen protectors you guys suggested.
Nillkin Hard Cover
I recommend the Nillkin Hard Cover over the Casemate Barely there case.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NILLKIN-Har...559046?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f108c22c6
I feel like the Nillkin Hard Cover covers alittle more of the corners of the phone over the Barely There case. Both cases are "barely there" but the Nillkin's got alittle more corner coverage.
Just another option for you...good luck with your purchase!

Had it on my Galaxy S1, and now on the S2. Can't beat them when you want to retain the Galaxy's sexy profile.
I went with the Zagg full body. Protection, and barely noticeable.
---------- Post added at 08:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:57 PM ----------
Should also note that if you are using the stock car dock, its tight. Very tight. the zagg allows it to fit without pulling in and out of the case every time you are in the car.
I got the D30 case it's really good... Feels good in your hand..

+1 CaseMate barely there, friend has it, barely notice it, keeps the thinness. If you want a few mm thicker, the Incipio and also the SGP UltraCapsule are TPU, bit more protection than the BarelyThere
I'm looking for a simple rubber or silicone bumper case to go around my SGS2 with the extended battery.
From what I've read the two pricey options are the SGP Neo Hybrid Ex (which "stretches" after a while) and the Walnutt (which costs an arm and a leg to ship from Korea).
Does anybody know of any others? Something cheap and cheerful would do fine - it's for grip as much as anything.
(This a wonderful forum by the way - I've found many answers here to questions that had been bugging the heck out of me!)

Hi.
Thanks very much for the reply. Yes, I'm aware of that thread but I think it focuses on full cases including back protection as opposed to purely a bumper around the edges (i.e. similar to the iphone bumper). Apologies if I did not make that clear in the original post.
I find a bumper case to be the most convenient for me by far as I really only want it for extra grip when picking up the phone or pulling it out of a pocket.
In order to be a good XDA citizen I'll post the question in that thread instead.
there are metal bumper like sweet armor or akiba or something which might affect signal and gps, expensive as well
serch "9100 metal bumper" on ebay
if it has to be rubber plastic bumper neo hybrid ex or walnutt or no name walnutt fakes or sgp linear without installing the back cover fit well

been using walnutt bumper for quite some time.. volume and power buttons are easier to press with the bumper on.. excellent bumper case i must say.. though had to import one from korea via GMarket..
#ItsMoreFunWithTheGalaxyS2
Yeah... feck it, I just ordered a Walnutt. Yes, it's expensive but everything I read about it is uniformly excellent. I could spend days looking for another one so well done Mr. Walnutt you've just made a sale to Ireland
Hey fellas,
I got my hands on the Case-mate barely there recently and wanted to share my thoughts on it. It's a snap on the back case which is made for someone who wants to keep the device as slim as possible, so it won't offer much protection either. It features a matte coating which is comfortable to hold & feel. Ports and cutouts are properly aligned and for the most part, it is what you would expect from Case-Mate.
Check out the full review below:
I am currently using the Barely There and I love it. I also have an unopened Ringke. So I am guessing I should just stick with the Barely there and not bother with the Ringke because I can sell it easier being brand new in the box? And besides the included screen protector, any benefits to the SGP case? I love both casemate and SGP cases so I was thinking about trying out the ultra thin series too.
Nice review! I started a thread about getting this case, and it's more attractive in real! ahh can't decide!

I kind of compare between Rinke Slim LITE and SGP Ultra Thin Air, and Rinke has a strap included. I don't think I would ever use the strap, but it's something better than Ultra Thin Air. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764307

The SGP case is, as the name suggest, EXTREMELY THIN! It is hard to believe at first, because it feels like a thin piece of glass that can break at any moment. But that leads to the closest 'naked' feel you'll find. The matte coating is a little different too, more rubbery than smooth.
I have this case and I like it also keeps the phone protected and slim they way the phone was meant to be
