Hi guys
I'm running bulletproof miui v1.9.2 and everything is great except the internet browser. It just seems really choppy and slow compared to the HTC sense browser or stock android browser. I've tried a couple of others as well but they all have the same problem.
Does anyone know what i can do to improve my browsing experience??
Would maybe flashing a different kernel help at all?
Thanks
running the ROM at 1.4Ghz btw

Hi everyone,
I don't know if it's just me, but i've noticed that when browsing the internet, in froyo roms scrolling, and pinch-zooming is quite choppy and not smooth at all ocmpared to sense roms.
Can something be done about it? or is it to do with the libraries and drivers used in these froyo roms?
well i won't my experience with froyo browsers was bad, but i can say nothing beats sense.. i'm using fallah rom (legend based sense rom), and browsing is a treat, add to that the quality video and pics this rom gives, it just fantastic.
I have to say that i havent got any problem with smoothness, but if u want, u can try out another browsers, like Miren Browser
i tried that and that is much more smoother than the stock one, but luckily i havent got any problem with the stock.
Smooth scrolling is in Sense roms. In non-Sense roms like CM is non-smooth scrolling
same here....i used tegro for a while with launcher pro only for the sense browser. i wonder why ....ui of cm is really fast...but browser ugly slow...
+1 here
any Froyo ROM I have used, the browser is very choppy and not smooth like Sense..
adding the flash (in)capability to that is the main reason I switched back to 2.1 sense roms..

Yep, flash incapability sucks, flash was one of the main reasons i bought a hero instead of a iphone.
I was wondering if stock web browsering performance, is universal or about each Android version/Sense version? Like let me give you some examples, such as if you are running(on the HTC Incredible 2 of course) Android 2.3.4 with Sense 2.1(the stock ROM) or just regular Android 2.3.4 AOSP will the browsers on both of these different ROMs have different speed performance to load up pages(Using the regular browser that comes with the ROM). Another example would be how about the same thing but Sense 2.1 stock ROM on Android 2.3.4, VS a Sense 3.0/3.5 ROM on Android 2.3.5?
I haven't noticed any drastic difference. However, I've been using Dolphin browser since I got the phone (although I have very recently moved to the Chrome browser, which I'm not sure works on any Sense ROMs yet).
For me, the biggest performance issue is based solely on the strength of my connection, which should be the obvious contributing factor. But if it helps, I'm running the AOKP ROM and the stock browser seems to open quickly and load pages with ease.
I did some tests and found that the sense Rom stock is faster then the browser in CyanongenMod 7.
My two sense i have to agree with the previous poster, if your on wifi most roms/browsers are comparable. (though i dont like dolphin..)
Another consideration is whats included with the rom? Although obvious the less your running the better your browser app will preform.
You could try different radio / rom combinations to gain a better connection ..
Hey,
I've tried to install Navigon Select on my CM9 WF.
It has already worked on CM7 for me.
But now I get a FC when I start navigating (but Navigon itsself starts normally).
Any solutions?
Tia
Edit:
I found a solution using the old Navigon Europe 3.6.2!
If someone is interested how it works, just pm me.
Are u using CM9 builds by ErwinP as a daily driver ?
If yes i recommend going back to CM7 as its more stable and apps work well with it
I've tried CM9 for the wildfire
The rom itself is kinda fast but some apps and games just don't want to work on it. Example : opera mobile browser, chrome beta, dragon fly, hungry shark..... etc
Sent from my still alive, ICS capable HTC Wildfire.

You're right, CM7 is more stable, but CM9 is kinda faster.
Especially games aren't working for me, but in most of the cases the apps are incompatible with ICS...
The only thing disturbin is camera not working, but I hope that there will be a solution for it!
Hi guys,
I have a problem for which i can't seem to find a solution through search. I'm on the latest Ice Cold Sandwich and the recent apps function (holding home button) gets really slow after a while. It seems to me that the function holds to many apps in memory causing it to be slow. I tried nova launcher which made it a little faster but not quite solved the problem.
Does anyone know a way to adjust the number of apps this function holds in memory?
Thanks
Not that I know of. And changing the launcher won't help since recent apps list is not related to it. I was a longtime IceColdSandwich user till Lord Clockan stopped active development for it. It's gotten buggy over time and especially because he was blind developing it without a phone to test on. After some use the ROM UI becomes slow overall. For ICS, I'd recommend aospX. It's the most stable ICS ROM. However it's pure AOSP and won't have AOKP/CM features like IceColdSandwich except the quick toggles in the notification bar. I'd also recommend you they the codefireX JellyBean nightlies. They are CM10 with some AOKP features and are more stable than IceColdSandwich in my experience. There a also JellyTime which is CM10 only. Since these are JellyBean ROMs, they are by default faster than ICS throughout. Everything works including 720p video recording and there are no major bugs that hamper usability.
Of course I'm only talking about AOSP ROMs. There are many stable Sense ICS ROMs if you like Sense.

As sashank said, you're not the only one facing slowing down issues with IceColdSandwich. It seems a lot of users are experiencing slow downs in the overall UI after a couple of days using the ROM.
I'm a fan of Sense ROMs, and there are a couple very stable ones around.
Thanks guys,
Might be time to switch to a jellybean ROM then....

Happy flashing
Let us know how it goes for you..
Yeah, I am in the same boat. IceCold Sandwich while formally rock steady, now is just laggy. I flashed over to Jellytime, but my wifi was so unstable at home that I have axed that one as well. I had Jellytime around B7 and had no issues with wifi. R12 & R13 are completely unusable for me. Oh well, time for something else.
Hello there,
I'd like to play Ingress a bit more fluently, which ROM will you suggest me?
I use at the moment the Paranoid version with JellyBean and it's really laggy sometimes. The rest of the time it's not very responsive and sometimes also crash...
Thank you so much!
i'd use Froyo or Gingerbread roms and overclock processor if necessary.
