Hm so Nexus S was update to 2.3.7
I wonder if that's some security fix like 3.2.1 was for Honeycomb the other day...?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...-gwk74-with-google-wallet-for-the-nexus-s-4g/
Is it me or does it make you wonder why they don't kind of insist that 'security fixes' are actually pushed out?
2.2.2 / 2.3.3 are the latest official versions for the Desire - I guess AOSP builds will probably see a quick update sometime in the future
I'm going to have to sync my repository as I didn't even know 2.3.6 existed

Am using MIUI android 2.3.5 so I think this RoM will update soon.
Isn't Miui based on Cyanogen?
I can't see any advantage to this update tbh.

Not sure lol I do know MIUI was on 2.3.4 then updated to 2.3.5 not so long ago.
I haven't noticed any AOSP roms going to 2.3.6 either.
I'm happy with my rom on 2.3.5 tbh. I would have been happy on 2.3.4 to fix the clear text password transmission issue, but at the time since 2.3.5 was out, I swa little point not using it.
2.3.6 is just bug fix for Voice, nothing more.

Yeah voice search I guess, thats all I could find. Cant find anything for 2.3.7 except google wallet, only for sprint users...
2.3.7 went out for Nexus S
2.3.6 recently went out for Nexus One.
The last few updates I haven't seen any report on anything much interesting being added - but they could also include "security bugfixes" and other undocumented features I guess
I didn't realise that 2.3.6 wasn't out for Nexus One so I wonder if that's why AOSP (and AOSP based Cyanogen and MIUI) ones haven't really gone from 2.3.5 -> 2.3.6 yet?
Probably. I.didn't know but I wouldn't bother unless it offered something

[Q] Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" official, will developers bring it to Droid Incredible?
With Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" finally announced and rolling out to NEXUS ONE users as of today, will the XDA developer community be porting the OS to our Droid Incredible's? I wonder how long it will take HTC to roll out 2.3.
Will we see one?
I also must know. I presume that CyanogenMod will come first and that Sense with 2.3 may take longer to be ported.

If my memory serves me correctly, 2.2 was announced in May and we saw it on Droid Incredible July 31st

I wonder if that will help us get closer to having a good working version of either Gingerbread ROM for Desire, or the OTA itself...
We already have them. Running it now.

Indeed, the Oxygen version of GingerBread for Desire works great!
The thread for the Oxygen Gingerbread is HUGE! Too long to read the whole thing. Are there any known issues with it--does everything (wifi, video recording) work now?
Dont hold your breath for a sence gingerbread rom soon tho, until htc release a gingerbread rom, we have no source code

stock gingerbread is pig ugly.
God knows why people want to use it.
Sense version will be a million times better

Hardly, tried it and there really is no noticeable difference, well not that you would notice for day to day use.
Have to argue, have you tried aosp based Roms like oxygen? brilliant compared to sense, and if you don't like the look? Theme it, use launcher pro and do whatever else you wanna do

Edit: each man to his own of course, but I love the speed over the slight extra functionality of sense
But is there going to be a real version of Gingerbread for the HTC Desire?
I'm assuming they'll stop eventually.

Almost everything works, just a few minor bugs, the most oustanding (imho) being network location based applications and gps navigators not working.

no way of porting 2.2's Sense to 2.3 then?
although as we know everyone wants the new sense 2.0 anyway
Yeah the advances off the HD rom but with the new keyboard and they make the Desire a payphone......
another article on it here: http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...tting-android-2-3-in-the-coming-weeks--916992
doesnt say anything new though
Today i got a message from HTC saying "Namaste! New android software version 4.2.2 for your HTC Device is here! Please upgrade for better data experience at www.htc.com (data charges apply)".
Is it true that we have now received official jellybean update from HTC ? Can anyone confirm it.
I'm on latest Leedroid rom btw.
I also found something here -
http://technosamigos.com/htc-android-4-2-jelly-bean-update-device-list-schedule/
I don't know if I can believe it. If it's true though this would mean good things for custom ROMs based on stock 4.2 becoming much more stable I would assume?

4.2.2 Jellybean isn't even on the HTC One yet, whoever sent you this was trying to scam you, so don't bother trying to update

I dont think you would get official update notifications with a custom rom. Especially nonsensical notifications about 4.2.
I remenber that with the arrival of the first ICS Rom´s, we receive a mail fron HTc congratulating us on our new terminal. Maybe it´s the same.
Take a look in settings/about phone, maybe ro.product.device is wrong in build.pro and htc is thinking you have another device (One X or something like this)
It is either a prank, or an error. DEFINITELY not an official update. Unrooted explorers also getting this message.
When I flashed cm10.1 Google congratulated me on my new galaxy nexus. Lol. I think previous posts about them thinking we have a different phone are correct.

Hello all, i just want to know something about the HTC EVO 4G. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and also i have my HTC EVO 4G and i want to update my EVO to the lates Android Version, its rooting already with:
Android Version 2.2.1
Kernel 2.15.00.09.01
I need help with the lates Android Version and Kernel Version available.
Can someone please help me with that please.
Thank You
There is only one way I know of. Try flashing a custom Rom called MazWoz Jb. It'll give you Android 4.1.2. Since the EVO 4g is single core, it lags only slightly. Other than that the Rom is quite good compared to gingerbread.
The link to it is: htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-custom-rom/mazwoz-android-4-2-1-rom-for-htc-evo-4g/

Really? or are you kidding? Since there are what.. .6-8 different 4.2.2 rom's just by 1 developer, and and Evervolv's is 4.2.2 (which Maxwoz was based off), and then there are other developers.
What I meant was that flashing a Rom was the only way. I also threw in an example...

As Android Kit Kat 4.4 is released, is some one building or plan to build custom ROM for HTC Desire (Bravo)?
Have searched everywhere but no luck as yet.
Look in the Dev Section , there is thread by nikez his 4.3 Android , in there u can see picture that nikez is working on K3 and on KitKat

It's a shame there's no 4.4 for old devices... Google complains there's big fragmentation in Android versions but at the same time it does not even update system for their Nexus One phone which could easily handle A4...

If the companies would make Android 4.0+ for old devices , few people would buy the new ones .. well maybe not few but less .. and if course , it cost them money to develop the Android 4.0+ on these devices .. All they want is money so .. no hope for official updates.

Fragmentation comes from morons who try to completely rewrite the framework and are too lazy or slow to update it with the core android ie touchwiz...sounds like a dirty priests chat room name anyway.

Does anyone have a link to where I could download the rom?
Thanks
You can always find the latest nightly here.
Just have a look at this section. There are several 4.4 ROM's. I'm using the Evervolv Rom with the nightly from 17.12.2013 and it works like a charm. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766550)
