[Q] Questions for the Themers - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all you themers, I'm taking the first step into theming by attempting to theme my first custom rom. I wanted to know if anybody knows the files/code that would change the app drawer background, the add to home background, and possibly create a 5 column background. This is for Sense 1.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: Also, how would I go about sharpening the edges on the clock widget? I have the .png, but don't know what I need to do...

[Q] Theming the Messaging App?

Hey guys i was wondering if its possible to theme the default messaging app thats by samsung, Like id be interested if its possible to change the background in the conversation menu to pure black (it would use less battery) rather than grey, it would also be cool to change the bubble colours possibly.
Is this possible? And how would it be achieved, input from "pro" themers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

[Q] Status Bar Color...PLEASE ASSIST

I've been serching for the answer to this question for the last couple days now. Hopefully one of the devs can assist me with this issue.
The status/notification bar on the stock JB ROM is grey in color, I am looking for a way I can change that to black. I know there are apps in the market that can do this but I dont want another app running in the backgroud just to modify the color of my status/notification bar. Can somone please tell me what .png's I need to edit and what xml files (if any)?
Are the files in SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk.....etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Once I have this figured out I'll make a flashable .zip and post it for others to use. Or, if there is another thread that already explains this please let me know.
No reply's? I know somebody can shed some light on this for me. I have done more than enough 'searching' of threads and google. I need some help peeps.

Modding the Sense 5 Weather Clock Background?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to modify the background of the sense 5 weather clock (the one that flips with the weather juuuust below it) not to make it transparent like everybody else is doing. I'm trying to theme it to go with a modified app drawer image and navigation bar image. The problem is I don't know which files to edit in order to do that. Could anyone here give me some advice or pointers?
Yes I have searched for a guide or tut to do it but all I find is people supplying one they made or pointing at a thread that has them already made. I would like to do this myself though.
Thanks in advance for any help
Have you heard of sense 5 toolbox? You can set transparency of many items...

Where is that image? I took a look inside of the prism apk but found nothing by that name.
But for everyone else reading, I'm not looking for transparency, I'm trying to overlay another image over, thus changing how the panel looks.

Are you talking about the panel where the weather condition is ?
That is common_panel.9.png in com.htc.resources.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi
Changing this will affect the widgets background too
Thats the one!!!

YES THAT'S THE ONE!
Just in case I added a screenshot, I circled the panel jsu so that everyone knows what I'm talking about. I found that common_panel.9.png but it's basically just a circle?
What I want to do is make that panel look like the navbar you see in the image I attached, if it's just a circle then it might not work or be possible.
Nobody have any ideas?
Does nobody here have any ideas on how to achieve this?

In both Sense 5 and Sense 5.5, the png is indeed found in the resources apk. It is the common_panel.9.png and it can be themed but only basically. The best you can do with it is make it with a border either transparent or semi. However, depending on how skilled you are with editing xml, you could put a custom PNG in the drawable folder and edit the layouts to navigate to that specific image. That way your newly themed image will be used and not the common_panel.9.png. If you look at my theming thread from Sense 5.5, you'll see what I mean.

[Q] Remove Apps Icon Shadow

Hello XDA community!
I'm new to the forums and I've found many great things here
I've started this thread to seek some help regarding a problem. I recently discovered a little bug in KitKat ROM (TouchWiz 4.4.2) where for a split second you can see that the shadows behind the icons is vanishing. I actually like the idea of removing the shadows behind the apps but I couldn't find a way to do so.
This bug is a little stranger because when the shadow is gone, there's this overlay of the status bar that appears out of nowhere.
I tried to modify different files from SecLauncher3.apk, like \res\values\styles.xml or color.xml but I couldn't get it done.
I don't like to use launchers so please don't recommend any.
TL;DR I need help to remove the shadow behind the apps and remove the overlay of the status bar.
I would appreciate if anyone could help me with this!
Sorry for my bad English.
Regards
bump

Custom No App Drawer Launcher

Hey everybody. I'm brainstorming about a Launcher I want to develop, but I wanted it Huawei/Xiaomi styled, that means it doesn't need the App Drawer.
I've been searching high and low for it, I've been to stackoverflow and even searched Google, but couldn't find anything about coding the launcher that way. Also, how can I embed my own icon pack? I want to develop a new one for this launcher, but don't know how to implement it in my app.
If you guys could give me advice on how to do that, I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance!
PS: Another question, what do you like in a Launcher? Bright colours, simple icons, rounded or square, cool custom wallpapers?
I want to add a lot of stuff to it and still keep it very minimalistic. :highfive:
