Stock root - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Do we have a stock root with stock kernel yet? I only want root for free hotspot and move ads to sd that could not normally be moved. Also to bring my titanium back up apps back. Purge than that I am super happy with this phone. I don't want to be a flashaholic like with the evo

Your anti virus app stripped the linux exploit from your rooting app.

System rom full - stock rooted

Alright first topic from me.
After I updated my stock T989 to ics, I proceeded to root it according to the gb root procedures.
Was checking out various stuff when titanium backup pro tells me that I have 7mb left of 612mb system rom.
Is there anyway to free any of that up, or would I be wasting my time because it doesn't really matter?

TMobile bloat their ROM with these crappy apps
Only way to get more memory is to delete those .
Or you can go with custom ROM which I'm using now

No more ad-blocking apps in the play store =/

Well, all i have to say is thankyfully xda exists, where these apps will continue to live on.

Good thing those of us here on XDA, most of us anyway, know other ways to block ads.
Who knows how the noobs will react when their favorite ad blocker can't be updated via the Play Store... They might just become Apple fans.

Yea thankfully rom toolbox pro has add blocking built in. Hopefully it doesn't get pulled for that one feature. But either way it wont affect xda peeps much.

Yes, ROM Toolbox Pro has ad blocking.

And what IF they pull rom tool box pro?? I paid for it, we should have access to it another way IF it gets pulled! Just thinking out of the box...
Jellyverse 0.5
They won't pull ROM Toolbox Pro. It isn't only for ad blocking.

That's where the devs come in.

Transmitted from another Galaxy.
Hopefully the dev of adfree didn't do like he used to and put a phone home or date check on his last version. It used to say to update the app when I used an old apk. I've got the latest, I think, laying around here but I'm not rooted at the moment so it won't do me any good.
My app still updates host files from several sources. All good here.

Hmm.... I knew an app was missing in my installed tab:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::what:
Well... At least I have Adaway backed up on titanium backup
Though still, they can't stop the power of development

I consider myself forever noob compared to the devs on this site! But yeah, thank goodness for XDA! Of course, if you're rooted, just save it from system/data/app and you're golden.

Why the hell can't we have ad blockers? Those things are flipping horrible.

Probably has something to do with complaints to Google about taking away from someone's bottom line. I agree, those things are a pain in the butt. Good thing we have awesome folks here at xda with drop boxes full of old apps! Love it, like a one stop shop for flashoholics!

I don't think it is fair. Some of the ads are so intrusive. I should not have to be clearing ads that get put in my notification bar or on my home screen. I should not have to reset my device to get our of an ad because it blocks me from being able to exit out. I understand ads are for revenue, but when they are so intrusive that I would rather not use my device for its purpose, it becomes a problem. I will always use an ad blocker and they can eat a d**k if they don't like it.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I totally agree. [email protected] eat a ,d**k. Old school. I'll always rock an ad blocker. They annoy me to no end!

Root66 is really easy and you don't have to do anything after root.
Although having TWRP has really saved my butt a few times so if worry about potentially voiding warranty (there are ways to reset the flash counter but you take some chance) isn't an issue it's really a great thing to have.
Rooting is quite simple, doesn't take long. I did it my first time over the weekend. Galaxys3root.com is a great site with good resources.
Currently running Wicked 9.1, you can root and leave the phone how it was stock, works absolutely fine

Root

Quick question here can you root the s3 on 4.1.1 without losing anything? Because from what ive seen you have to flash a stock ROM with root injected in it. I put on CWMR and flashed superuser but I do not have root.
