I thought these two features were standard w/ Gingerbread, what happened to ours?
it's not part of the SGSII. we've been able to add it, though. i'm sure someone will here as well.

Cool, thanks for the info! I'll actually take a peak at the files and see if I can come up with something!

Source code released this morning. Give it a whirl devs, i'm sure we're all curious to see what this phone can do.

Good deal. Overclocking is a big one for me. Maybe after I learn some more programming with my degree I can syart helping these guys on new phones...
Also, I am not sure if TMobile is going to disable wi-fi calling or tether features, but we should jack them on the idea of charging us too.
This should be a good day for us MT4G owners I hope!

Nice! It's about time! As much as I love the stock version I need to see what this baby can do.

I know it might FEEL like a long time, but this is actually AMAZINGLY quick for HTC to release source compared to some of their other phones.
awesome, hopefully the phone will get some dev love now

This was all Kmobs was waiting on. He mentioned (twitter) last night that ETA for CM6 was 12/25/10, contingent upon source release. Since this came out WAY ahead of the usual time frame for releases, i'm thinking we'll get something long before Christmas.
This means we'll get ROM's soon...I hope?

It means custom kernels, not roms. Though it does technically mean we'll get CM6 sooner since it uses a custom kernel.

Download ADW or Launcher Pro out of the market. I'm used to CM6, so I went with ADW. Feels like home.
Yep, bloatware cleanup, ADW install, and SDcard cleanup are on the menu tonight. Hopefully someone will have an OC kernel up by this evening.
I wonder if we'll be able to break the 2GHz barrier on the MT4G, I know they hit 1.9 on the G2.

I'm thinking it will crush the G2's scores. Although that really doesn't matter much to me so much as what they'll be able to do with OC/UV. I want to see how much battery life they'll get out of the MSM8255.
Yeah ya! I just jizzed my pants!! Oops lol

I dunno if I'd go so far as to say "crush" however I'd be surprised if it wasn't higher. I agree though equal performance to stock with much better battery life is far more exciting because stock is already fast as hell.

Again, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Not to denigrate Tiad's contributions, but you should instead be giving credit to VirusCrazy and BZO instead. I also agree with the previous posters who feel this thread is useless. As anyone who has been following camera progress knows, the latest info on camera dev work can be found in the [DEV - Camera (Diamond, Blackstone, Raphael, Rhodium) ] Camera tests thread.
one day day everything will probably work on devices that didnt originally run android but when that day comes well all have probably upgraded.
thats why u see most people drop development...they upgrade to a true device.
anyways tho they are right only some work

that's true, but you forget that some of the phones are amazing, like the touch pro 2, atm. in my eyes this is an beautifull phone, an big keyboard, 2 camera's, big touch screen (to bad its no multi touch, ah well) the htc 7 pro is also cool yeah but think about how much this phone will cost, the price of that phone will be an normal buying price (im talking about the device without an subscription) in about 2 years, and then there will be another new phone everyone wants. You can say that upgrade is probably the best option, but is it financial the best way?
In my opinion the best way for these htc phones is for some people maybe learning the development process. Being able to fix your own bugs on the android port, that way it will be easier to port android (or other new mobile operating systems even tough they wont have the same builds, you will have some basic knowledge so it will be easier) to new phones faster because more and more people have the knowledge of it.
But this is just my opinion
I recently bought an touch pro 2 and im dying to get an good android port on it.
2 weeks ago i started learning the process of how android actualy works
atm. i dont understand allot but i sure do understand allot,
And if everyone stops developing for the htc touch pro 2, i will continue learning it (i am seeing myself being 50 and finnaly having an properly ported android on this phone lol.)

explain to me what you did...
Just used the all the files tiad provided?
or did you used other files beside his?
I have a 210 and the camera never worked with this build. I could likely have done something wrong.
Worked for me

Well, I have a 210 and it works for me also. I have tried the code scanning software also and it works as well. Just drop all files into the appropriate folders as told in the install guide from that page. Mine works like a charm and pics are just as good as WinMo.

i used only files that he gave us. nothing more besides that i edited startup to rhod100
I'll double check the thread, but I don't believe it specifies folders that need to be used. Everything else worked. And the fxcamera didn't crash. It simply didn't show any image on the screen. Rereading it, it does say "open all apps then reboot. Not exactly sure what that means...Open every single application on the phone? That would be odd...
Found this posted in the SGSII Themes & Apps section and am wondering if anyone here in the states have had any personal experiences w/ downloading from the app/site? Any feedback is greatly appreciated, TIA!
I used to download stuff from them back in the WinMo days. Was always a good time. Didnt even know they were still around. I wouldnt bet against it being legit.

i believe they are out of Lithuania? not too sure, but i have downloaded multiple things from them in the past. they are legit. and have been around for quite some time. also, if im not mistaken "cut the rope" was exclusively launched for android from their market. hope that helps.
I used to use it but I now try this something else. Can't give the link, but if you google black Mart alpha. (4 SHARE).
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program....

No problem! It's like the 5th thread I've seen of people claiming it still works and only a couple gave me credit, lol! I don't mind that so much but more so the spreading of false hope they are giving The only way I know of to trick the throttle is toggling the old apn with the new one. But that only works for a couple hours max if at all anymore. When I first came posted this, quite a few blogs picked it up and I think T-Mobile became aware of the flaw. It all appears to be controlled server-side now and should have been from the start lol!
Is there any chance that we'd get a lollipop rom port or can our device not just handle it!
bbelos said:
Well, I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up, although I will still make an attempt at it to see how bad it will be. There is a belief that alot of older devices will be forced to get left behind. Time will tell.

*fingers crossed* Any word on this perhaps? I've kept this phone around soooo long, gonna pass it to a family member loaded w/ Freedompop. This dang phone still rivals the free ones just now coming out, I love it! And you guys keep resuscitating it when it appears so bleak. I do worry about HW constraints this time round though. If not possible thanks for all the work in the past! If something does happen, then wooooohoooo!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our phone (SPH-D700) doesn't qualify for FreedomPop.
I'm not sure about Lollipop status.
