Not gonna lie, sounds like you're trying to use a pirated version lol. Not saying that's what you're trying to do, that's just what it sounds like lol.

[Q] Droid 2/X ROM?

Anyone know of a good Droid X/2 ROM for the Droid Incredible?
This is an HTC phone so that's impossible. Maybe an EVO/Desire/Z/HD port, but no Motorola port is avaliable on the Incredible unless you want an HTC Droid Brick.
Just put a gingerbread rom on, use adw launcher, and get the droid x adw theme

it wouldn't brick flashing a bad rom LOL. The only way I've ever known to brick it by changing things like radio and h-boot version and the flash going wrong. Anyway. I'm sure it could and has been done. But I'm no sure.

Impossible?
I highly doubt it's impossible, ID has done it, he posted a working video of it on YouTube. I asked him and he said that he would not be releasing it though, so I was curious as to whether or not someone else had also.

Miui rom

I just flashed the Miui rom on my g2. It is bad ass! Has any one else tryed it? Miui with sense I think would be even better! I love the sense Widgets! Is there a way I can get sense Widgets on there now or do I have to wait for the rom to be rebuilt with sense? And if so is any one working on that yet?

we cant like miui and like the open source end of android phones?
(IE: you are an idiot)
i dont have the hatred for apple or its product, but muiu looked waaay too much like an iphone. But I really just couldnt get over that there was no apparent app drawer. To each their own, and I dont believe at this time any dev is working on blending sense with muiu.

Fact: MIUI's entire reason of existance is to make your android phone look like an iphone.

sooooo making an graphic user interface look like something else means you should go out and get that something else even though the functionality is entirely different?
Pardon me but do all of the other device threads have as many jack asses as the G2/Dz threads?

Check the Vibrant forums. You'll be happy you have the G2.
And in response to the post, I haven't tried MIUI myself, but I have a friend who absolutely loves it. I like having Cyanogen just because it looks stock. I've been using the Android OS since version 1.0 with the G1, and I've grown comfortable with the layout.

Gingerbread?

Will our beloved incredibles ever get 2.3? I googled it and found no concrete answers. I wanna know so i dont root and miss out on ota 2.3. I figured if anyone were to know, it would be the guys at xda.

It could be a very very long wait seein as there are a bunch of new phones for them to pay attention to while ignoring the Dincs.
Go ahead and root, tons of us applied the update manually to 2.2 without issue.
I have a family member working for a Verizon as a DM, I try to get information out of him, all he told me is that the Inc is "supposed" to get 2.3, had no timetable when.
When the Evo 3D comes out and the source code gets released for Sense on 2.3 hopefully the guys over here can make it work on the DInc.
I agree with Ben. Root and get 2.3 now. Why wait for a buggy IT'S when we've been building and debugging the source already.

If VZW releases 2.3 for DInc, XDA ROM-ers will do loads of stuff with it anyway...

Giggity giggity.
Free sounds good.
Great ROMs available.
Battery kills the Tbolt's.
If 4g isn't a need for you, the DInc2 is the best phone on the market IMHO, especially for the price.
I have 4g in my area, but always use wifi if i can, im leanin towards dinc 2

If its hacks an Roms you want? THe Dinc 2 is great!!!
The dinc 2 is a great phone with plenty of Roms to choose from. If I had an upgrade i would get the new $300 HTC smartphone (but thats just becuase of the specs).
If you get a dinc 2 it will be running android 2.3.4. THat version is not rooted yet.
but you can downgrade to android 2.3.3 using this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgIYFGcVimU&feature=channel_video_title
Then root 2.3.3 using

Have fun with your new rooted phone !!!
I asked the same question here a couple weeks ago ...

... you might find some of the answers I got helpful to your situation.
I ended up getting my Dinc2 for free on Black Friday, and have been loving it. It's a great phone, everything I need, and nothing I don't.

for Rooting Revolutionary gives permanent root for some devices , and for others it give root but not complete permanent root ( incredible 2 is in the second group i believe ) , go to thier website for more . still you can install do all rooted things
as for Roms , if you are using CDMA there is plenty of excellent Roms Sense 3.5 . if you want GSM very few Roms for that and the maximum is Sense 3 for a stable bug less GSM Rom
the phone is nice , and battery is Very good in my opinion
Got mine at Costco for $30.
Might be a good time to check eBay/CL for a used one...

I say go for it. Rooting was fairly straightforward and I have never used adb before that. I love it so far though. It gets way better battery life than the thunderbolt and has cynanogen mod as well as really good sense roms. Also the dev have a pretty decent ICS beta out so if you want that it probably it will be stable I a bit. Enjoy

ICS for the sensation

Anyone else notice there is an official ics build for the sensation?

Yep. Nitsuj wants to mess with it, but we don't have a kernel dev so we can't really get it working without one.
Noooooooooo!!!!! That really sucks.

Just an FYI, my friend's mom works for verizon, and he is going to try to get an ICS kernel for us. He is the one who leaked all the Rezound ICS stuff to the devs over there.

There was that guy on Twitter who said he knows someone who may be able to get a hold of it as well. He said he was gonna get the kernel for ICS if nothing else.

the kernel would be enough to boot sensation xl ics sense with my skill level....though the libs/bins would be needed to get it a lot more functional (gb libs/bins will work but not as well)
eh why split hairs, id take the kernel if i couldnt get the whole RUU

The libs / bins would have to come from a dinc2 ics build to work or developed from scratch to work?
