Anyone notice that MMS messages seem to get sent through wifi when on gingerbread leaks? But using the same modem on EC05 it gets sent through 3g why is that?
Maybe I'm wrong and gingerbread just sends them faster than froyo.
Any ideas on this?

It worked on froyo too

Yeah, i've never been able to get mms via wifi. My phone spends 8hrs a day (at work i have no signal, just wifi) on wifi and I never get MMS till i leave work and have signal again. On GB or Froyo doesn't matter, never get MMS via wifi.. which sux.

I have CM7.1.0 and I love it, the only draw back is that I am not receiving my MMS messages unless I manually turn off wifi and 3G on and then click download. Or if I am on 3G I still have to check if I have a message and if I do I have to manually click download. Can anyone help me with my problem?? Thanks!

Do you have auto-retrieve checked in the setting menu under mms?
Yeah I do that is why I'm confused lol

I know I had this issue a week or so ago. It only lasted of like a day tho. It just went away by itself and the only things i've since having that issue was updating my PRL (*22899). I doubt that did it but you never know!
I leave 3g on when connected to wifi. It just does it by itself.

I do the exact same thing. I was told, by someone, that wifi radio uses less power then the 3g radio.
I've flashed both Perfection's ROM and Ravers ROM and I have no success with mms what so ever. Does abyone have any advice on this I love the smoothness of ICS it's going to be real hard to go back to GB, but if I can't get mms I'm going to have to, I like the ROMs to have everything in the texting area, great work by these guys without the kernel source, truly Kings among men

Mms as in sending pictures? I can send and receive just fine. I'm on perfection rom at the moment.

Im running prefection and it stays stuck on sebding and i cant receive :/ it says download but it doesnt download
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Not sure what the problem is. It worked for me with Wi-Fi on and with Wi-Fi off. I tested both sending and receiving after seeing your post.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I'm on perfection and both sending and recording it's fine. Try checking your data settings on your phone your self System Settings - Wireless and Networks - Mobile Networks - Use Packet Data and cycle that on and off and try sending yourself a test mms message

Works for me on VanillaRocket, But I have a tad of the dreaded "Blurry MMS" issue. the files are being compressed to 20KB.
Thanks for the heads up, some times my comcast lags :/ so it wasn't sending the MMS, but when I turned on the data, problem gone, sometimes its the simplest thing that solves the problem, now if anyone can tell me if they can send MMS from BlackEdition I'll probably move to Black Edition. Perfection is a great ROM, but my battery is not holding well to this Rom at all, even after the script changes of super charger
Just like the title says. I'm using Wicked's V.5 with UVLI8. I've looked at other threads with other devices and I've seen no resolution.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

have you ever been able too? b'c on past phones while on wifi the mobile network would kick in to let the mms go Thru or come in then go back to wifi when it was done
Check if wifi calling is on. If it is turn it off and it should work.

Seems like a work-around. I'll test, but still, it's a pain to have to turn wi-fi calling off and on to receive a MMS. Why wouldn't I just turn of wi-fi for the moment till the MMS comes thru?
You can do that too. But for many its good enough to be a fix... If you're like me and don't use wifi calling.
I know it sucks, but at least you'll know what's causing it. Maybe if enough people complain they'll fix it.
I've heard some 3rd party apps allow mms to send over wifi and therefore will work with wifi calling.
Tmobile only allows mms to send over data connection.

Are you sure? I get pix all the time at home and I'm showing 100% without signal. 0 bars but still the triangle. This is with Wi-Fi calling always on. Stock and xquizit.
Sometimes I do get the "data roaming" lost connection bs and lose Wi-Fi calling.

Well, I was sure until I read your post! :what: lol
I guess it could very well be that it was fixed with UVALH2 and i forgot. Maybe I just need to go to sleep!

Similar thing happens to me. Wifi get stuck or conflict with Data signal.
I always turn Network Data off 1st, then turn WiFi on - once WiFi fully loaded => turn data on. That way it prevent wifi conflict. Works for me.

You might be partially right lol. There was a thread about turning mobile data off and that killed MMS over WiFi. All I know is that I'm able to send and receive MMS at home and I have no cell signal. There's no way the MMS are going through the cell tower. Technically speaking I do have some sort of signal. Even though it says no signal it's a blank triangle and not the circle with a line through it. It's enough to register with the network I guess...
I think I need sleep too. Turning WiFi off gave me the no signal circle. So iono wtf.
I know this has something to do with the custom ROM I'm using (Wicked V.5). I've never seen this issue, and I've been using Androids for 2 years. Even before I flashed Wicked, I had no issues on the same device on the same WiFi network.
Xquizit xD works fine for me.
I installed the cm10 rom about 2 weeks ago. I love jelly bean and cm10 dont get me wrong but i have been noticing that i can not send picture messages when connected to 3g or wifi (i have to reboot the phone everytime i want to send a picture) also my 3g would randomly disappear (it disconnects without showing that its disconnected). I have to put the phone on airplane mode and then reconnect to 3g. Just a few days ago my s3 stopped letting me use the wifi at my job (it said trying to avoid poor signal or something like that). The wifi signal at my job is very strong and i went into the wifi settings and disable the "avoid poor signal" feature. Still it wouldnt connect but it connects to the wifi at my house. I just want to know if im the only person experiencing this. Also how would i be able to switch back to ics from jb? Is it a quick process? Can it be done str8 from my phone without using my computer? Can i do it using mobile odin? If odin is needed?

Going back to ics is as simple as wiping the normal things, then flashing a ics based rom.

So, now that you're back on ICS, you should give CM10 another try. That build was like 2 months old. Those bugs you were talking about have been squashed. Pretty stable at this point.
Ill check it out. Do uknow if netflix is workingon jb?

Has anyone else experienced a significant "decrease" in signal strength after the ota update?
I now get no signal in my house after updating where prior I would have enough to call, send and receive text and mms.
Now unless I'm on wifi I get nothing.
Suggestions?
