[Q] help please - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone !!
i was downloading apps on dolphin browser and try to install it but it won't finish install . it keep saying that "installing" on the screen .
when i restart the phone and it stuck at the htc logo !!
help me solve that problem !!
thanks

Just reflash your ROM after wiping the cache.

i dont know much about android. could you tell me how to wipe the cache and flash the ROM !! ( my phone haven't root yet )
thanks !!

Now u hav only one solution to have full format ur phone or just take ur phone to warrenty. For full format boot to bootloader by start the phone holding power and volume down button.then plug ur usb. Then down load a suitable ruu from below site and flash it.
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz

I thought you were rooted? I distinctly remember seeing your complaints in the CM7 thread??!!
Anyway, the only solutions as I see it are to perform a Clear Storage in the Bootloader / HBoot Mode, or flash an RUU. Just as an alternative, try starting the phone without the SDCard. Also, remove battery, all cards, leave for 5-10 minutes, and try again. If it still fails, you will have to go with the Clear Storage / RUU Flash method.

Can i please get some assistance Bricked phone

Hey i was trying to flash a rom and i think i bricked it.. since it won't turn on but when i try to do a hard reset which goes to the red green etc screen and i try to flash another rom it doesn't seem to work. I mean it installs but after it just don't turn on. So i was wondering how i can fix this.. thank you..
try to flash a stock rom! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394985
what hardspl do you have? try original spl or reflash olinex
and don't worry you will find a solution
you must acces your storage in usb mode ( and allways flash from storage is a fast solution and more secure)
This is exactly what I did

Hey,
I flashed a stock ROM, you will it in this forum. Even better to download it from the HTC website and run the .exe. If that does not work download the OliNex Hard SPL, flash it and you are good to go.
Do not bother I was in a similar situation but just flashing the stock ROM helps restore the full functionality of your beauty. After which you are ready to get on to the habit for being a 'flashing junkie'
Regards!
Still doesn't work i flashed that rom and i still can't turn my phone off and i tried power + volume down and reset still doesn't work
Like it lets me install the roms but i still can't turn it on after it installs

Try the mitty formula my good man, to get it back then flash the stock ROM then try the mitty again on your fancied ROM !!
nvm it started to work again thanks alot
So it stoppped working again.. after trying to flash. What happened was after install the official rom it didn't work but for some reason it turned on itself and i was able to install the rom but now i can't seem to do it again
I think I've just bricked my Diamond too. I copied a ROM as diamimg.nbh into the internal storage. Then, I ran mtty to format the ROM. After hard reset, which I supposed it will flash using the internal storage, it just said completed immediately (without the progress bar) and then it halted during boot up.
I wonder if it cannot read the diamimg.nbh from the internal storage. Can anyone help?

I've got a HUGE problem,
I've backed up my files and tryed to restore them with ''ROM manager''.
So my DHD did a reboot, since then my phone dint start up anymore, removed the battery and SD card and tryed several times a ''hard reset'' and finaly after a couple of times i could choose the ''restore'' option and managed to install ''4EXTRecovery v2.1.3 RC2'' so in that menu i can install *.zip files, but it doesnt matter what kind of program i install.... because every time the phone reboots im comming in the same problem over and over ! ...
I realy need some help to create my phone back to factory defaults, or another firmware... because i cant do anything with it now..

Is your phone rooted? If so, u can flash a new rom when booting in recovery.
The second option is to try flashing an official RUU wich u can find on www . shipped-roms . com, go to the Ace section and download RUU 2.50.405.2, the latest official htc stock rom.

Download and/or install another rom. Your cwm may have made a bad backup. You may just want to start over with a fresh rom. Don't worry your phone is not bricked
I've downloaded 2 diffirent roms, maybe u got a idea what i should install ? maybe a quick link...
Make sure you have decent charge on your battery. I sounds like your phone doesn't have adequate charge
If nothing works, try reflashing the stock 1.32 firmware. I think you may need to re-root your phone with visionary+ afterwards tho
But do i need to wipe / format all things ? ''Wipe all partitions'' ??
I was stuck on bootloader before, going from CM7 to CoreDroid. What I did was finally get to recovery, mount as storage, used SuperWipe from Mike1986 and installed his Android Revolution ROM. Don't know if that'll help ya, but it worked for me.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using XDA App
But then when i try to install the 1.32 version it says installation aborted , and with the SuperWipe from Mike1986 that is completed and when i install Android Revolution ROM it installs everything and then relaunches the phone and then it vibrates 3 times and freezes again :S
Are you trying to install the 1.32 PD98IMG via recovery?
The PD98IMG is a zip that has to be flashed in bootloader.
First, redownload the ROM you wish to use. You may have had a corrupt download.
Second, before you flash the ROM. Wipe everything manually.
System
Data
Cache
Dalvik Cache
Thirdly, Now flash the ROM then reboot.
Now if you still get the same results after doing all that, your problem maybe elsewhere.
i cant open bootloader, it wil reboot the phone again... so im back to basic again.... :S , But i found out if i connect it to the computer through usb ... and insert the batery without the telephone card and sd card it will flash orange/green a couple of times then it goes back to loading full orange... Is there a way to flash the ROM before i copy it to the SD card ?
I've made the misstake with reformatting my SD card... that EXP3 -> EXP4 thing.
So ive managed to install the HD rom ...
But now i still got the problem when i restart my phone into bootloader that it will get stuck... i cant startup HBOOT either.. I need to hold the ON button for 2 seconds and release it then it will startup in Normal mode...
So can anyone help me out to reinstall HBOOT ? or maybe a good link to it ?
Sry for the problems, and i still dont know what messed up my HBOOT, and why my phone needs to go on in this strange way.
Thx, Nico

[Q] restore phone from recovery/hboot

Im having a problem with my phone booting. it does a variety of things from rebooting mid way through boot, hanging at the white HTC screen, getting to lock screen then rebooting...
point is, i cant get in to the system.. what i'd like to do is remove everything and get it to stock... the RUU would be nice, but it needs to be booted for that to happen. i've tried a couple of custom roms (vaelpak, synergy) but they all result the same way. cleared dalvik, data, .android_secure, cache with no impact..
RA 2.3 is what the recover console currently is...
what is the best way to recover the phone to stock?
im ok with working with the phone but not awesome so somewhat detailed directions would be appreciated.
hope i didnt leave anything out,
Thanks
What rom are you on? I am assuming you can get into recovery. May I recommend, fresh 4 rom by flipz to get everything back to normal first (Full wipe is necessary) ...then we can work on this further.
thanks for the response.
wiped data/secure/cache/dalvik
applied Fresh 4.2.0.0 rom
rebooted
showed HTC white screen for 2 seconds rebooted.. did this until it gave me the 3 vibrates and flashing green light..
reseated battery and powered on
HTC white hung for what seemed longer than normal than Fresh boots.. lock screen appears for a couple of sec and then it reboots.
thanks
Lets try a few more steps before concluding hardware issues.
1. wipe all
2. http://www.virusrom.com/Tools/VR_SUPERWIPE.zip (flash this)
3. Flash your favorite rom (try one of the newer ones if your SD is partitioned)
4. restart...and let the phone wait for 10 mins...before you unlock the screen
5. unlock screen and let it settle (DO NOT SET UP ACCOUNTS)
6. reboot recovery..wipe cache and dalvik and reboot
7. sign into market...
8. if it still reboots/FCs then flash latest radios http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485
cool i'll give that a try..
when you say wipe all, is the list i've provided "all"? i noticed with RA i can wipe system/boot and some others i believe... wasnt sure i should wipe the boot or system...
yes...start at format all factory reset...and then the list you've provided...dont wipe sdcard unless formatting it...and then follow from step 2
yeah basically what i listed was the factory reset + dalvik..
so, you mention if the SD card is partitioned (app2SD?) which i dont currently have setup, but its a new SDcard so i might.. but, if i put one of those newer roms on that assume App2SD (which i believe i did) then would the problems im having be a result of doing that??
no luck, still getting random reboots
what rom did you flash? But if you did all the steps from my earlier post, I am wondering if this is an hardware issue.Heres a thread about back to stock RUU . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7529500&postcount=1
here another for the latest froyo ruu
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874251
just in case you would want to root back
well that sucks... i just replaced the screen and LCD too....
thats the tool i was trying to use but couldnt keep the system up long enough to get it to run right... in order to run the RUU you need to be in android (is that right? sounds werid, like saying in windows, past boot, etc etc).. anyways.. it has to be loaded, the RUU then flashes a special boot loader to do the restore... i've gotten a handful of errors, some of which even say that i have the wrong version (i'll try the one you posted but i've used an RUU before and tried the same one again)
i'll keep screwing with it, or get a new phone i guess.. still a year left on my contact so i'll be hitting up ebay or something :-/
thanks for all your help, really apprecaite it

Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250 with hardlocked NAND ?!? need help !

Ok , this is the deal my fellow hardcore developers .... My Galaxy Nexus has a rare ( first time i see something like this in all my tinkering years ) condition where the memory of the phone is like in a locked state , you factory reset the phone .... enter the bootloader --> go into recovery and wipe cache , dalvik , data , etc ... all the wipes available and once the phone restarts everything is back there !
I tried the odin method (Nand Erase All) , odin fails when its writing the Image portion of the files ....
I tried cyanogen mod installer , cyanogenmod installer reboots the phone , goes into bootloader , unlocks bootloader , injects clockworkmod and then the software continues "installing" until the point the phone restarts .... guess what ? original software comes back !
theres no way to restore the phone ! and clean/erase everything on it , i tried the regular phone reset ... didnt work , phone goes thru the procedure but when it restarts everything is back ! if you uninstall an application once you restart the phone the app is back there ! the phone is not encrypted either , i sincerely dont know whats going on here and what i can do to factory reset this device ! open up to any suggestions and methods !
Yeah your internal memory is dead..

Not a rare problem at all honestly. Happens all the time with flash memory.
Two things to remember.
1. Not all NANDS are created equally. Some may last longer than others.
2. A galaxy nexus usually has more reads/writes than most phones.(flash more roms etc..)
Plus the majority of the gnexus are getting pretty old.
