Anyone know if the GB update fixed the battery charging issue, or experienced improved battery life?
My battery life vastly improved.

I wasnt aware there ever was an issue with charging. But yeah it did improve battery life quite a bit. Especially if your rooted and you install tinys custom sense ginger kernel.
My daughters phone is fine, charges fast and airplane mode a few days with her game play. GB is the Windows 7 to Froyo being Windows ME.

I think is better, but maybe it's placebo
Hehe. Placebo a good term to use. I do agree tthat every Rom be it cm or stock, I was hoping for better battery life.

you can use supercharger for more battery life
very bad
Folkx, since updated to xxxxx42 stock battery last half the time it used to.
I don't go to details what apps are running, the same have been running before, battery time has just gotten TERRIBLE!
Ideas?
So my battery life is just not good, I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong or not doing.... but even when the phone is off it loses battery life really quick.
Is there maybe something I'm missing or need to do?

Happens to me too...I tried calibrator apps and still no luck i actually left cm9 last night and to rujelus22 it was good but ended up running into problems but maybe you should try flashing a different rom or charge your phone fully then reflash cm9 let the battery drain all the way then charge it again fully...

Yeah I wasn't sure if there is some setting I can change, might just end up getting the bigger battery like I did my Evo and call it a day! Other then that I love my cm9

Hey, I would try to flash an updated kernel for the cm9 alpha 3. Alpha3 comes with FD10 and I found that it made the Android OS drain my battery faster than it should. With FD26 the Android OS drain on my battery has been much lower. However, from what I hear which kernel works best varies on the phone, so I would try a couple others.
I owned a Palm Pre and Pre 2 before moving to Android with my Epic 4G Touch. Battery life would be horrible for about 24-48 hours with updates and flashing new kernels. After this battery life would improve dramatically. Is this the case with the new update? Has anyone found ways to improve battery life? Has there been changes to push notifications settings and network background internet services that could be responsible?
I use a battery stat wipe app. Called battery calibration. It seems to fix the battery issue a little faster. I run it every time I flash a new rom/kernel

Maybe underclocking or running a governer would help.
Take that with a grain of salt because I am unsure if it would help or hurt battery life, my real world sense says it would help but idk.

Yes you can do that too. Tagraz has built in modules to under clock and under volt. Just be careful. Undervolting too much can cause reboots.

Flashed CM10 last night and have been playing with it all day. was noticing quick drain and then even faster charging. I looked into it and saw lots of recommendations to wipe battery stats after flashing any rom.
Currently waiting for my charge to reach 100% so I can use Battery Calibrator (in app store) I will let you know if this fixes my problem.
PS This app is the same as deleting battery stats from recovery mode.

I have experienced this as well. I tried wiping battery stats once but that was some what close to when I first flashed the ROM in the first place. Haven't flashed any other ICS ROMs so I can't give you any insight on that. But I will agree with the above. Wipe battery stats should help.

Jb still charges very fast after calibration of the battery. A new battery is $20, so I'm not too worried about it.

Are you using the stock battery charger? also on agats and kuban kernel there is an option to increase/decrease the charge rate. But one thing with Lithium Ion batteries as well as other batterys a high/fast charge will decrease their life. also a failing battery(quick drain) will charge much faster than a good battery.
It's more of a kernel issue than a ROM issue.
Unfortunately if you want jb, your kernel choices are very, very limited.
I have fast charging issues as well on JB.. One reason I reverted back to my Daily driver.. I just got a new battery and not try to have it in bad health too quick already

I use the stock charger, and others. It charges fast with all of them.
I've been using Nitrous on his phone with some success but now he's reporting a lot of battery drain in spite of minimal use. Anyone recommend anything else that will be low maintenance and stable enough? I dont see my dad more than every 4-6 months so I want to set it up for him as best I can.
:good: for recs!
Battery life and stability are what I need. All he does is make calls and text.
