Diamond dead during hard spl update

HI all! It will be more then great if anybody can help me.
The story is simple one guy decide to unlock his Diamond throw some free way ( I don't know how exectly ) he end with error 260 and DEAD Diamond.
The device does not get into bootloader when pressing Vol_- + reset.
Now this Diamond in my hands.
Can anyone please advice what can I do? can I flash ROM?
P.S. this phone are new and Orange UK branded.
Please help and sorry for my poor English.

On the Diamond you can access bootloader by jsut reseting and holding down the "Vol Down" Key only...
Try this and report back.

Where is this error 260 indicated ? If the ROM starts up and shows some error, the bootloader will work for sure.

maybe you have to use mtty but I can't help you cause I never use it...

That what I told volume down + reset not working with this phone. It is in another one which I have here.
The phone doesn't show any signs of life, I think I need test point or maybe JTAG way to repair it......
Any suggestions?

I don't know I got this phone it this condition with a story about this error.
I don't actually know what happened, but I believe that this phone bricked down in the middle of unlocking process.

If there is no life in the phone then there is not much we offer/say to help.
Have you tried another battery?

Only to make a bit easy this step cause in this way one would be an octopus , soft reset your device with stylus and then, within 3 seconds, hold Vol down + centre round button until you see the tricolour screen. Release the buttons and follow the instructions (Press Vol Up to restore to manufactured settings).

This is the typical case when someone didnt do his homework. Im sure you didnt read the stickies. Poeple be warned, flashing your device can kill it if you dont have a clue on what you are doing. Ive seen a bunch of n00bs bricking their devices just because the didnt read the forum. This question has been ansewred a lot.

sorry friend to hear but i have one solution may be it can work u just flash hard spl v 1.93 olinex from here:http://ficca.bounceme.net/download/HARDSpl_Diamond_OliNex_1.93_Unsigned.zip just flash this hspl and after flashing this u can flash any rom but now u just flash this hspl if u got 100% then ur prob is solve so pls tell me what happen after that hope every thing will be alright good luck

Error 260 is a USB communication error. Did this happen during sim unlock or during hardspl install because the thread title says one thing and your post says another.

I have the same problem.. i tried a flash and then it wont turn on.. not even hard reset not even soft reset.. it wont even charge or indicate charging.

Hey charly, i flashed my phones many times, i've bricked it , got stuck on the tricolour screen.... but this time it's different... the phone it's completely dead... no light .. not charging no tricolour .. nothing:S

try this method for ur diamond
first remove ur battery form ur device and press the power button for 20 seconds . so it will discharge the power from ur device. after that put ur battery and press volume - and power on button to enter boot loader ... dont press reset button to enter bootloader ok !! hope this works for u , best of luck.

no luck.... i did the battery on the fridge processs.. no luck with that either... now i'm gonna check the battery with somekind of instrument and after that i'm gonna open my diamond to little pieces and put it back together... in quest for a fix

a did some measurements, the battery was 2.8V, i put it on the phone, put the phone in ccharger, and it did charge the batery to 3.7V(even the baterry led is not working).. i measured the phone also it gives 4.15V to the battery... i dont know is he charging correctly.. but it's charging the battery for sure.. ..... any clues ppl?

i tried to flash bada 2.0 it diddnt work ( sercurity fail ) and other problems now i got a problem my phone doesnt boot up at all i cant even join download mode its just kinda dead.
I need help guys i tried to put out the battey left it there for 1 h put it back in and it still doesnt work i dont know what to do please can someone help? i screwd up

Yeah, you made a little mistake, i dont know for sure that now, but try to re-flash to 1.2 some bada version not to 2.0.1, but first know how to turn off security, becouse it can be not to late, or you get Brick or Semi-brick Good luck dude

Hello, lest you accidentally tried to flash BADA 2.0 with an older version of "Multiloader" if so remove the battery of the phone put it again and start the "Download mod" with keys "Vol up" + "Lock key" + "Power on" If you start flashing again with "Multiloader 6.65"

If you cannot enter to download mode then you are in big trouble... You will need JTAG to reanimate it.

If you turn it off and put the charger in nothing happends?
If so. JTAG is only way
If not you COULD have a semi-brick but i think you still need JTAG

what if my phone can boot but it reboot everytime after juz 1 sec on the home screen. this rebooting keep continue until i took off the battery. any solution?

Trying before asking? If you've read this thread then you would know that you should try to reflash
If your phone boots as soon as you put in battery then hold
vol down + camera when you put the battery in

thanks for the help its a full brick i put out the battery and tried to recharge nothing happend.

Please examine this thread if you have similar problems, but please don't ask how we got it fixed. The phone was just done for, dead, bricked, whatever you want to call it.

A friend of mine is getting a white screen on his Galaxy Y, can't do anything with it. Even a hard reset (as found on the internet) doesn't work. (Hard reset being holding volume up, center button and power button).
Does anyone have experience with this problem?

First state what happen?
Try remove battery and power on again. If its not work try volume down home button then power button. If the download mode appears flash stock rom again using odin..

Thats NOT a hard reset! Pull the battery, and insert it again. Now do your "hard reset". As in, holding volume up+home+power key together until you see the Samsung logo. Do a data wipe and restart. If that doesnt work, search for flashable firmware packages in the Development section. If that doesn't work either, replace your phone.

Stating what happened: He just suddenly had a white screen, unable to do anything with the phone. Rebooting, pulling the battery etc. didn't do anything.
Your second option didn't work either unfortunatly.

Sorry about that, I just read in about this phone, since it's not mine, and I already forgot about the second part.
Unfortunately, neither of this works. Every boot method gets him a white screen. Since he rooted his phone about a week ago, looks like he's going to need a new one.

try flashing the ROM using Odin from the PC

Might Odin be the same as Samsung Kies in dutch? Or is this an external program?
Assuming it's this program: http://odin-win.sourceforge.net/
Now how does this work? I've been flashing my phone for quite a while now, but I'm not familiar with this program. Can I just download a ROM (stock) from the developers part here?

its a tool for windows which lets you flash firmwares. You need to connect your phone to your pc is download mode.
Search Google and you will get lots of tutorials explaining the process.

My friend tried everything you people suggested, but nothing worked. He just had an expert look at it and it's just totally bricked. Gotta buy a new one. Thanks for trying anyway!

i was trying to install it and i clicked install and reoot and now its stuck on the samsung logo and i tried that and it just rebooted and stayed on the samsung logo untill my battery died and now im charging it liek the battery comes on it but when i try to turn it back on it stays on the samsung logo still

my phone isn't going into recovery or download mode its staying stuck on the samsung logo

are you sure you're doing the process right? hold until you see something on the screen and let go, usually like 2 seconds for download mode

Just about every root method, including videos, tells you to store all important files in a safe location, such as a pc, BEFORE beginning the root process as doing so may cause potential bootloops and such, forcing you to do a factory reset right then and there. Judging by the OP you really haven't done much reading have you? I suggest you start doing so. Reading, watching, and working through your own mistakes are the keys to success..

You need to outline exactly what you did, and exactly what is happening on your phone. Speak in complete sentences. People can only help you if you explain your situation clearly, because we're not in the room with you.

hi sorry for not explaining myself, i down loaded the htc m8 tool box i was not sure what i was doing i was trying too root the phone i managed to unlock the phone , i still have s-on i can get into fastboot usb, and thats it, i cant get into twrp.if press to go into recovery it goes as far as the white screen htc in green and thats it, it dont do nothing else unless i do start button and up volume if i go volume down it don't do nothing, that's about all i can tell u john

You need to install TWRP, before you can boot into TWRP.

If pressing vol down during a reboot doesn't get you to bootloader, you did it wrong. You either started pressing vol down to late, or let go too early (don't let go until the bootloader screen appears). Just try again, until it works.
