Anyone out there willing to help me out? So I'm running king shooter, the poonsense kernel, and still have s-off, yet im not rooted properly somehow? I rooted via revolutionary, no updates have been done so I'm pretty lost.
I have tried re-rooting with revolutionary but it says phone is rooted with s-off already, and i have flashed the superuser binaries I got from the Su app website.
Have you tried running any apps that require superuser permission? You may be fine and the app you used to test your root access is bad or something.

Okay so I have an Evo 4G with a stock rom. About a week ago I rooted my phone using the unrevoked3 method. It was working great. I then decided to update the phone to 3.29 to get the fps uncapped. This unrooted the phone which I expected. I rooted the phone again using the unrevoked3 method successfully. After that I decided to unroot the phone just to know that I had the option incase I had to go back to sprint to get it replaced by flashing the 3.29 update again. After I did that successfully I rooted it again using the same unrevoked method and it's been working great the last few days. But today while I was using my phone, it somehow got unrooted and unrevoked isn't working anymore. I was using Wifi tether to connect a friends iPad to the internet for about an hour. It suddenly stopped working and the phone started getting really glitchy. So I used quickboot to reboot the phone. When it started up again all my root applications said they couldn't obtain root access. I checked the boot loader and it's still S-off. Does anyone know what could've caused this?

Not sure what caused it but try re flashing SU

Try uninstalling the superuser app. Then go to the market, download and reinstall it. See if the works.
Thanks! it worked. All my root apps are getting SU permissions again after I reflashed the SU app.

did you try flashing the su-bin ?
I dont know how it happened, but it seems that i no longer have root. Whenever i try to launch apps that require root access (ie. SetCPU, BatteryCalibration) the app just freezes there and crashes when i try to go back to home. Superuser binaries also fail to update at the "gaining root access..." sequence.
I thought of using the Gnex toolkit 5.5 to re-root the phone, but since im running AOKP Milestone 4 which is Android 4.0.3, it says rooting on 4.0.3 is not supported yet. Is there any alternative way to re-root my device? Im not even sure how my phone unrooted by itself!
if recovery works, reflash rom maybe if not just go back to stock with fastboot, root again and then reflash rom
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Use my Root Helper Has helped quite a few people Clicke here, to see thread
You can root every GNex, with it ^^ Even 4.0.4. All tested
Thanks, reflashing ROM works! My root is back.
And your root helper might come in handy. I'll keep it close.
i just switched over to xenon hd and now my superuser fails to gain root access. it says i have version .98 and its trying to update to 3.1.1
how can i fix this?
I feel i have a peculiar situation. I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII SGH-T999 with the Hellfire 4.4.2 rom flashed to it. The default superuser app worked fine. But, i downloaded superuser because i like it better. I tried to update the binary but it always got stuck at the checking to make sure it is working part of the update. So, i downloaded the binary to flash through clockworkmod recovery. Now i have no root access whatsoever. I have no idea what to do. So my question is how do i regain root access and update the binary?
HI! I have spent hours reseaching and trying different files and nothing has worked. I updated a rooted 4.1.1 to 4.3 via OTA and I did get rid of the root but Super Su is still present with no root access. I tried uninstalling it via super su app but it tells me uninstall failed. I tried via the play store but it only gives me the option to update. The whole reason for doing this was because I wanted to start using the ISIS payment system but it keeps telling me my phone is rooted and ISIS won't work. I know is not rooted because Super SU doesn't have root access and I tried the root access apk and it has told me I don't have root access. I'm looking to install a tar file via odin which should get rid of any traces of Super Su or root which is preventing me to use ISIS. I never had issues getting rid of root before but this time I don't know if its because I updated via OTA but even then it should have gotten rid of Super Su and it did not. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you're using an i747m from a Canadian carrier, you could try flashing a stock 4.3 ROM.
