sim network unlock pin?
OK, I know simular queston have been asked, and i'm not a total noob,so please dont flame me.
I have searched and looked but cant seem to find an answer, either i'm being dumd (possible), or missing something.
I have three phones
1: nokia 5800.
2: nokia 6030 on contract with vodafone.
3: HTC desire on contract with t-mobile.
and three sims
1: virgin PAYG
2: vodafone month contract
3: t-mobile on contract
My problem is on the desire,
I can use the virgin and t-mobile in it fine, but if I try to use the vodafone sim it comes up with "sim network unlock pin" and asks for an 8 digit number.
I can use all three sims in the other two phones ok, the problem is only the vodafone sim in the desire.
The desire has been rooted, s-off,
I have run the sim unlock utility via the boot ISO "HTC_Desire_Unlock_v0.2a.iso" ,couldn't get the win version to work on Win7.
The radio file was 32.54.00.32U when I tried to use the sim, I downgrade it to 32.49.00.32U and ran the simunlock utility again ok, but the problem still occurs.
On HBOOT-0.93.0001
Running Leedroid 3.0.8.2, tried cyanogenmod 7.1.0-rc1 and still same problem
any ideas, because i'm stuck.

Hi all,
Just flashed my phone from standard Orange ROM to a generic version as per this guide:
forum . xda-developers . com / showthread.php?t=688404
However, once the phone reboots, I am presented with a screen asking for the "SIM network unlock PIN" as my SIM card is refused.
Any ideas what to do??

Just run this one, It's not the latest, but it's got the right radio update for Orange supplied devices. Alternativly, you could have you desire unlcoked, then you could update the radio too.
Hi
You either need to flash back to your previous radio or get a sim unlock code - however these cost between £15-20.

Tried this method but unfortunately it returned "Error [140]: Bootloader Version Error"
How have other people managed to remove Orange branding with the updated radio version and not faced the same problem?
I don't really want to pay to unlock it as that would be of no use to me and I don't know of a site that's guaranteed to work with my Orange UK contract phone.
Can my network block my IMEI, if my phone is
ACE PVT ENG S -OFF AND
CID 11111111
or would I need to use one of the IMEI website to receive a code.

Simple answer: no.

It seems that they can block your phone. As sim card has no service.
Unless there is a why to force the sim to work through some other method I don't no about. Bootloader? Recovery Menu?
UPDATE.
I have started reading the links in your sig, hopefully answer will be in their. Maybe re install CID? To achive sim free again. I think that although I had CID it was still on the ORANGE network.
Maybe this is what's stopping the ORANGE SIM to receive a Signal.
Hopefully I find the answer before you reply.
Cheers.

Im going to try a Radio 26.09.04.11.M2 as this is not tied to any network. To see if this works,
but as i was going about it i notice unlock sim in the GUI of easy radio tool 2.2.. I have had a look for a how too, but with no luck and maybe this is not the answer any way..
i will continue too look for the answer..
UPDATE
Radio change has given the same result.. IMEI GSM must be locked on the phone(reported lost). As the sim card works on other phones, but not on the now blocked phone.
Will continue to look for answer.
CID ORANG001 ( this is the CID the phone is now on ) i think then if i use your easy radio tool to change to HTC__001 would this unlock the sim or do i need to run sim unlock also??
SIMLOCK Back to ON..
This seems to be a issue.
I need to return SIMLOCK-ON. Now i think this is not possible as when i removed the sim-lock over a year ago, a file was saved to the SD card. Now without this file i cant put SIMLOCK back on.
CAN i clone/copy the details from a new factory fresh phone with the same network as the old phone i.e no CID,S-OFF or rooted!!! back on the old phone.
Could this help with getting the rooted phone back to SIMLOCK-ON.
As all i can achive is Radio S-ON Stock CID returned to network, but SIM LOCK is still set off. In the BOOTLOADER is a SIMLOCK but fails as no file on the SD card.
Can these details not be returned now?? Whats are the details in this file??
Hi there,
I'm just after a method for unlocking my HTC Desire GSM without flashing back to a stock ROM.
I'm currently on Vodafone UK and I'd like to use an Orange sim.
My phone is rooted, s-off and running Cyanogen 7.1
I've tried using HTC_Desire_unlock_v0.9.5, which downloaded from somewhere on this site.
But the phone remains emergency calls only with the Orange sim (& a US T-moble sim)
I've got USB debugging on, and I've run the unlock programme from my PC, everything seems to work - the phone reboots in HBOOT and I get the success message in the PC window. I've tried with my Vodafone sim and the Orange one.
I have noticed an error message with both sims on the unlock programme window - Vodafone = returned error 95 and Orange = returned error 31
Thanks for your help
Have you tried mentioning this in the sim unlock utility thread? It's the only utility there is
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
restart in flymode
offen this doesnt work reflash. ( do nandbackup) first
Thanks, after much reading of the unlocking thread and installing ADB drivers, restarting lots of times. I'm still not too sure if I've unlocked my phone, as I've realised the Orange sim I was trying has expired - doh.
I've ordered a new one so when that arrives I should be able to determine if I've unlocked it.
I got my GSM, SLED HTC Desire from Orange UK under contract.
A friend upgraded it to HBOOT 1.03.0003, radio 5.17.05.23 and Cyanogen 7.1 thinking that this would also SIM unlock the phone. However, when I put a foreign SIM in it, it prompts for a network unlock code.
I've tried following the exact steps on the GiffGaff page about unlocking a Desire phone (the forum won't allow me to link, sorry), using both 0.9.5 and 0.9.4. 0.9.4 reports success but I am still prompted for an unlock code. 0.9.5 complains that it only works on the Desire and some Sensation phones. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether it is S-ON or S-OFF.
I have even paid Orange for an unlock code. However, when I try to use this code I am prompted for it only once, not twice as the instructions say I will be. It reports success, but then says "Emergency Calls Only".
What is left for me to try? Is there any area where I need to give any more detail? Thanks!

I unlocked mine (from Telenor) with this having no problems at all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943726
But if you paid them, go to their customer service and ask for help. Of course you will have to install some factory rom if you have warranty.

Hello, I bought my HTC Desire 816 2 days ago from Amazon. I can't seem to get a signal on this thing no matter what I try,
I even unlocked the bootloader and flashed superSU to carrier unlock it (though it should be unlocked by default as well).
No matter which slot I put the SIM in, I always get the No SIM Card in phone message. No signals at all.
Any help?
It's HTC Desire 816w btw
