I'm on olympia rom 1.2 eh06. At first my gps was just crappy, 2 sat lock at best. Now I get 0 locks, I find 10 though, and my gps icon won't show up, although it used to. My gps refuses to turn on. Anyone know of a fix? Or what happend? I mean I'm going to upgrade to eh17 soon and hope its fixed but id still like to see any insight into this. Thanks!

Try reflashing, try Odin back to stock confirm it works and flash again, try clearing GPS Agps with GPSstatus from the market, try ##gpsclrx# but you have to have your MSL number handy, get it from connectbot>local>Epic and type getprop ril.MSL in the box. Caps are important. Or as a last resort try the EFS clear noobnl suggested but it requires going through hands free activation.
I used the gpsclrx.
Ill try these options out, thanks!

Just to add, from my experience all samsung phones have a problem with gps lock.
i910, had bad reception took for ever
galaxy s 4g, never had a lock ever. I would carry a shift around just for gps.
Epic 4g, at first it was hard. Then after rooting its just unusually good for samsung.
Nexus S 4g, this thing has trouble picking up wifi let alone gps.

Every ROM has experienced this issue one way or the other, make a back up, boot to a TW ROM get a lock, and restore the back up you made.

I'm having GPS issues as well, but mine are a bit different. I believe I have a lock, but someone please clarify this for me. When I open Maps and am driving around, I can see the blue arrow moving where it's supposed to. However, when I when I get directions to a place and ask it to navigate, it stays waiting for the GPS. I'm not certain if this is a Maps issue or a GPS issue. I haven't tried any other navi software, but I really don't know any.

I'll give it a shot. I've never used a CM based ROM before. Is it supposed to say "searching for GPS" in the notifications all the time? Or does that mean I don't have a lock?

No data (3g) while flashed to metropcs
I am also having problems with this rom. I have my phone flashed to metropcs, and cant get data to work on this rom, I think this might have something to do with the build prop settings, but i dont know what settings to change. This is happening with all cm 10 roms that i'll tested so far. Is anybody else having this issue?

I doubt it's the build.prop not allowing your data on metro. More than likely, the data settings are set to Sprint. I'm not sure how to do it on this kind of ROM, but in a TW ROM, you would find what your MSL is via one of the market apps, then go into your data settings by opening the first and typing in ##3282#. Don't know about this ROM though.

Mine is not seeing any satellites. When maps is open my location just jumps around based on cell tower data and eats battery. I'll have to find out how to put it back to stock, and maybe I'll get lucky and it'll work.
Odin'd back to stock. Didn't fix it, but I really didn't expect it to. A new device is coming tomorrow.
They are delivering it Thanksgiving day??
That's what the receipt says anyway.
As title states...GPS is not working. On Google Nav app, it just stays on "searching for gps". I have the GPS turned on and have cleared cache and data from the maps app. I restored to a previous nandroid backup where it was working. What in the hell would cause this, and is there a simple fix I'm missing?

Had the same problem as you. It just wouldn't lock into any Satellite. After some research, found an app called GpsFix in Google Play. Fixed it and now works great. Remember to also have the wifi antenna on, even if you're not connected to any hotspot. Don't know how it works, but makes the GPS more precise.
Is anyone else having this problem? My phone is also unable to lock on any satellite... I'm not sure if it's related to the fact that I've rooted it.

Get an app called gps test and then hit your menu hard key and hit clear agps and then hit update, then let the app connect to satellites and then back out and try maps hopefully rofit:

I'm also rooted. and it's working flawlessly. I'm on stock Rom though.
I ended up flashing an old nandroid backup where it finally worked, then dirty flashed the latest of that ROM over it and that did the trick. I have NO CLUE what happened, but I did get it fixed.
I started getting mad for a while, then realized that is part of what I really enjoy doing with my phone...tinkering to the point of breaking it, then fix and make it all nice and new again...lol

Then I came across a post that was in a att s3 thread started by "egyptshun"

This worked great, my gps issues started when I flashed to a 4.2.2 rom and went back to stock 4.1.1. After searching endlessly this is the easiest fix there is out there.
Fast and easy
WOW. This worked so fast and easy! GPS Signal locked on instantly after the reboot and turning on GPS. I lost my GPS going from Cyanogenmod 10.1 to Darthstalker S3 edition Version XI.
Yeah I was so relieved when I did this.. It was such a head ache. Been seeing a lot of people going thru the same thing.

Since this fix seems to be pretty solid (and becoming a prevalent issue), I've included it in my signature.
This thread makes me a lot less wary about flashing something like Liquidsmooth, when Wicked remains my daily. I'd need to switch back and forth. Good to see there seems to be a practical way of dealing with possible GPS loss, without jumping through hoops to get it back.

Same here. I also tried bending the "leaf contacts" on the phone so the antenna makes a good connection.
My phone can see 25 satellites but it can't get a GPS lock, any ideas?
I have had serious problems with GPS on custom ROM's (among other issues). They would show the satellites, but it worked like garbage.
I did a full wipe, and ODIN'd to stock, and it's been great ever since then.
Have you tried making a nandroid, and doing a factory reset and full wipe, to see if it works well after? That should allow you to rule out if it's hardware related or software.
