The original image not the r2 version.
Yes, luckily I kept the image. http://mirror.viperts.info. Desire > hboot > r1
Punched in..
You could also make it yourself with thalamus hboot patcher.
TouchPaled from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Thanks heaps guys, I will try the r1 version first then I will attempt at making one of my own. Thanks again.

How safe is this tool? I guess that the images on alpharev come from this tool but has anyone really used it?

I have used it! I have downloaded the HBOOT with the stock partition schema (250/40/147), the HBOOT with the Oxygen r2 schema (100/5/332). Then I have tried to modify the HBOOT with the stock partitions in order to obtain the Oxygen ones. I have given a dummy name to the new HBOOT. Then I have tried to compare the newly created HBOOT with the Oxygen r2 HBOOT. Except for the HBOOT name, they were identical.
I have repeated the steps for the CyanogenMod partitions. Except the label, there were 2 bytes different at 0x32928 starting from the beginning of the files.
I have also repeated the steps for the Bravo Sense, Data++ and N1 schemas. The files were also identical (excepting the label, of course).
To conclude, in 4 cases of 5, I have obtained the same files. I don't know what happened with the CyanogenMod partitioning schema!

can anyone give me a full guide to flash my hboot to CM7 so i can install CM7 ROM because i am afraid to do it without full guidness cause its most likely the smallest mistake bricks the phone and i cant afford that
First off. DO NOT POST MORE THAN ONE THREAD ABOUT THE SAME TOPIC!!!
Second: no that was it. Im not going to help you.
edit: (just kidding throw me a pm i'll guide you through it, and we already have plenty of threads explaining it, so don't need another one, also i was serius on the first part)
edit2: you do know you don't necessarily need to flash the hboot in order to use cm right? You can use the stock one just fine, you will just have a little less space on /data for apps.

Welcome to the Vision Forums
The DZ hboot will work fine with any other roms and will be essential for all future virtuous releases.
Using the DZ hboot increases the size of the system partition meaning that larger roms will fit on to the phone. Sense 3.0 roms are huge and if you use the G2 hboot its very difficult to get the roms to fit on to the phone. There are guides dotted around the forums if you ever needed to return to the stock hboot.
Changing the hboot to the dz one wont hurt. It simply changes how much space is divided between system and data.
You should be all set if u us the dz hboot and it would guarantee that you can use all the roms from the g2/dz forums.

Ty guys. I did hit the thanks button if your wondering.
lol you're welcome. It's a breath of fresh air for someone who actually makes an effort to read and not act self entitled. If you have any other questions that you can't find an answer to, I can try to help you with what I know (not that it's alot, but I can probably handle the mid level questions)
Hi all, so I've been trying to update my hboot from 0.75.0000 to .93 but have been FAILING miserably. I'm currently on ICS, and have tried alpharev which didn't work. Trying to flash rom to RUU has also failed but I don't know why. Flashed my radio to match the one with the RUU and that didn't work, which i'm guessing is due to the inability to simply flash from ICS to 2.2 or 2.3?
So my question is, any other tips?
Try to flash the hboot downgrade from alpharev then the right RUU. If that works you can root and s-off your phone with unrevoked/revolutionary. If you want to change hboot to cmr7 or data ++ (example) you MUST be s-off......

Thanks for tip, I've actually done alpharev and it also failed. Reason being it needs a rom that doesn't already have a2sd, any suggestion as to which rom is suitable?
Thanks
Edit: I've actually online done the hboot reflash, and not the downgrade. Will give that a go first and see what happens.
I think that all the rooted roms have some sort of a2sd, that's why I think you have to start from the beginning. Start with an original ruu.bring it back to its original state wich came out of the box...my knowledge doesn't reach that far ;-) its the easyest way I think.

Can you post your complete bootloader. Turn of phone, hold down volume and press power. What info does the left upper corner give you ?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It is:
BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.75.0000
MICROP-031D
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
MAR 5 2010,21:12:15
Still I think what's best is to go back all the way and install a ruu. Then go directly to revolutionary. It will root and s-off your phone and installs the custom hboot.
Maybe I have more time to help tonight, I am at work now :-(

That's what I'm thinking too, hence why I'm trying to flash an RUU onto the device. I however get this error when I do it
Error[140]: Bootloader version error
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again
I conclude that the downgrade did not work ?

It didn't and wouldn't cause my phone is still on S-On, I'm however dling some newer RUU so fingers crossed that helps.
Ah yes ofcourse. There is a stickie in the Q & A section here that has info and troubleshooting. Maybe point 3 and 4 can give you some more info !

Is it possible that your phone is branded by provider, in that case you have to create a goldcard first. I have no experience in this. Hopefully I am pointing you to the right direction.

Hey there, firstly I would like to thank you for ALL your help and of course the effort you've put in it.
I've actually fixed it by firstly going to page ~16 of the android development forum for the desire, get an old rom, flash it in and then performed the alpharev. Lo and behold it worked because the rom is reasonably old and a2sd was "new" then. Flashed it back to ICS now and I am proud to announced that I S-OFF'ED!!! Partition done and OFF I GO.
That's great !!!! Have fun with your fixed desire )))

@bjornzzz Any suggestion on which rom you flashed. I've arrived at this boot loader while going back to stock from alpharevx hboot / ics rom.
Flashing an Ruu before flashing the alpharev downgrade didn't help much. LOL
I used AlphaRev 1.8 to get S-OFF how do i flash HBOOT CM7 r2 ? is there a up datable .zip or is it best to use fastboot option ?

Whichever method you use, wipe all partitions (except FAT32 on SD) after changing.
(If you use 4ext recovery this will be done for you),

I have only used fastboot and never had any problems with it. at start it might seem the harder way but when you do it a couple of times it probably is the fastest and easiest way to do it.
also just a reminder, if you wanna change back from cm7r2, flash the downgrader first, then flash the other hboot you wanna go for. (i have learned this a lot later than i should have therefore i feel the need to share it)

Do you mean, everytime one is changing to any different hboot?
I thought this is only needed if one is changing back to stock hboot.

Personnally I'm a fan of Fastboot Commander. It can be found at the bottom of the Desire Index in the development thread.
You got a few hboots for alpharev then you can make your own layout as you need, so rom will fit perfectly. As I'm trying different Rom flashing hboot as it is required for that specific Rom.
Now I find fastboot much quicker way as fastboot commander with mouse

if i remember correctly, you need to use the downgrader first to switch from 387mb system hboot to cm7r2 for example

You are remember not correctly. One only needs to use downgrader when one wants to flash RUU or OTA, because the new hboot versions have only overwrite protection against RUU or OTA (Source: http://alpharev.nl).
I've changed from CM7r2 to stock and back again a few times now (when trying out the ICS ROMs that are floating around on here), and have never flashed the downgrader. As MatDrOiD points out, that's only needed if you're going back onto a RUU.
Cheers.
